Ok good and I apologize for any confusion I was only quoting what I read and yes clearly things are getting blow way out of proportion

I thought they were the same damn thing

No problem it wasn't personal. We all want this jailbreak lol. I figure since pod2g is done with his blog in terms of status updates(at least until it's actually released) we could make it fun and interesting.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

Staying on 05 here.

Wow I just went and looked and the number of views and replies in this thread, 71,000 and almost 13,000.....thats nuts

That was a random developer NOT associated with the jailbreak. More importantly he ASKED whether we should update or not. I think people are just becoming looney at this point.

Planetbeing,Pod2g,Musclenerd,P0sixninja,Macrumors,cultofmac,My cat,and EVERYONE has been saying 5.0.1 is the version you want to be on for jailbreak.

Stop splitting hairs asking whether you need 05 or 06. They are the same Damn firmware there was only a very MINISCULE DIFFERENCE.

I will admit I've become addicted to these posts in the past few weeks but some of you guys are going overboard splitting and borderline paranoid with unwarranted worries and concerns. None of us have the answers just follow what the key players are saying and wait.

THANK YOU!! That's exactly what I thought.

I'll be honest, I haven't been following this thread since the beginning. I saw it and knew it was going to turn into a nonsensical conversation. But I let my guard down and checked it yesterday just to see what the latest was.

I knew I should have just checked pod2g's or the dev team blog. Silly me

I read online that only the 4S has the 06 build, whereas every other iDevice is still on 05. The 06 is a special build to address "No SIM" problems with the 4S only.

Who did you donate to aside from pod2g ?

Pods job is done so if you paid for that fantastic.

This is a larger group effort

Did you donate to all of them ?

Or the better question would be can you donate to all of them ?

Donated to:
GeoHot 3gs
Both Jailbreak me times to comex

I know i've donated more than this.

Why not donate to all of them? I've payed well over $300 on apps through the course of 4 years.. why not donate 20-30$ I usually donate $10. For the ipad 2 jailbreak to comex IIRC i donated $20.00.

I could donate to all of them in lesser amounts, but each would get a share.. WHY NOT?

Why not fork something... If I fork a lot of money to apple, why not fork something to all of them or any of them. Even $1.00 is good donation. The jailbreak community is huge and if everyone would chip in $1.00, there would be a lot of money in the jailbreak development. Enough to gather more interest in coders WHICH WE NEED!

I am trying to stress this because every year the jailbreak is taking longer and longer. And it may not be the fact that it's getting harder. But the fact that talent is going away. If pod2g gets a good chunk, you bet he will work a little bit more for the iOS6. New bugs will come with new software, it's just the way it is. It's just up to them to find them.

I can't code a jailbreak that is why i donate towards the effort.

I have yet to donate to anyone of the current team as they have yet to release a jailbreak for the 4s. When they do... my $30 will be there.

Now, why am I getting slammed for promoting the donation portion?

Went ahead and did a restore to 06 + set up as new phone to clear any problems at all. I'm so ready for the jailbreak already...

Was wanting your guys opinion. Is it best to chose "set up as new" when restoring for a more stable jailbreak? Then sync with your iTunes backup?

Well, for what it's worth, I've always taken a few to be 4, so that would make today 4 days after that post. Not that I think it'll be today...

Please cite where Musclenerd said that 5.0.1 is where you want to be for this jailbreak. Every other source you mentioned, excluding your cat, shows otherwise.

Umm.. no they are not.

While you're halfway true that they are the same firmware, 9A406 contains yet another battery usage fix for the 4S, plus also contains a baseband update. That is a BIG difference, especially when it comes to the potential to unlock. If MN's unlock were to work on 5.0.1 up to and including baseband 1.0.13 (found in 9A405), but NOT baseband 1.0.14 (found in 9A406), you will not be able to unlock the 9A406 version of 5.0.1.

That is a HUGE difference between the two and not as minuscule as you may think.

Only true if you do not care about unlocking. MN has said if you want to unlock, stay at 5.0 on a 4s.

I agree with Bradl

For the 4S
If you need to unlock stay as low as you can on BB.

Stay on 5.0 if still there.

Stay on 5.01 9A405 if there

Downgrade to 5.01 9A405 if on 9A406!

For non-unlockers, 5.01 405 or 406 is fine, it will give you the earliest JB. You can stay on 5.0 as well, but why should you?

The mentioned twitter is indeed a question of a non-dev.

Again the iclarified article:

Stay with the trusted sources; the devs, iclariefied etc.

Somebody posted yesterday a tweet from pimpkeks that we are about a week away. So I doubt very much today. Sunday probably the soonest. Even that's a long shot a this point.

I looked through his tweets and there is no mention of "a week". A couple of days ago he said he didn't know of any 5.0 JB and he is the one making the JB app.

Who's pimpkeks? Don't recognize him as a dev team member.

Its funny we haven't seen Snowwhite post recently. According to his "inside word" the jailbreak will be out today. I guess he/she realized his/her guess was wrong.

As I mentioned he immediately removed his tweets stating the ETA....

I believe his response was slight sarcastic in the tune of " it will be less than a week but more than a year"........

I'm not sure how people are able to "cache" removed tweets but if you can thats exactly what he said.
