MOD NOTE: We're aware both of the original posts and your posts here. Our internal review process can take a while as we cover many time zones, so asking another mod or admin a question can take a while to get an answer.

I'll also add that the best way to address this type of question ("why was nothing done about my report?") is via the Contact Us form. Otherwise, you're asking about specific moderation, which in most cases we can't discuss in public threads. This is especially true while discussing is ongoing, and always when moderation is ultimately done.

Often, the answer you'll get is that we're still discussing it. Sometimes, we'll be able to explain why nothing was done.

Everyone is more than welcomed to send a contact asking why nothing was done about their report. We don't feel that's aggressive or argumentative at all; it's only reasonable that someone's who's taken the time to report something would want to know this.

I've often wished that the report function had some sort of easy way to send feedback to those who report, because I think explaining why some reports aren't acted on is useful to the person who reported. And I'm often a little frustrated by the feeling that it might not occur to the reporting member that the report was actually read and discussed, before it was decided there was no basis in the rules for moderation (in cases where that's what's decided).

Still hoping to hear from a moderator as to why those posts are currently seen as acceptable.

Maybe I should report my own post just to get one of them to notice.

;)

I'll just mention that we finished our work with the matter you took up yesterday. I can't share any details, but since the matter was brought up here we wanted to respond with something here.

I will also remind everyone in this thread that review often takes a bit of time. We're in different time zones, have lives to juggle etc. But please don't hesitate to send a contact if you've sent a report and are surprised that nothing has (yet?) been done.

Some light relevant geek humor. :D

I don't have a way of doing this but I just thought other people might feel the same way and want to chip in.:)

Good sir, I respect your opinion. But, alas, I have not witnessed such a ruckus on this forum among fellow members. There have been disagreements but everyone seems to remain cordial, overall. I do not know where you have experienced such unpleasantries, here. Though I think you may be over exaggerating a bit on this matter, I offer you my regard and solace. Have a wonderful day.

I write on the forums here quite a lot and in almost every single thread people are rude and insulting. It just seems accepted. Casual rudeness/insults people just accept.

I think if people could write on a forum as if they were talking to a friend it would just make for a better environment.

I agree that it seems that casual insults are generally accepted. Whereas the more serious comments get people in trouble... I've had two or three warnings from mods because I crossed the line.

My conservative opinions always incite fury when I post in the PRSI section... which is why lately I try to avoid voicing my opinion entirely. It's unfortunate because I see topics in PRSI that I'd like to chime in on but I don't because more often than not I am bluntly attacked.

I've grown particularly fond of the Picture Gallery section of MR because I'm far less likely to be insulted there. Other than that, I usually only read the rumors because PRSI has become off limits for the conservative minority of MR.

It's a damn shame in my opinion.
