Yes there are threads already with speeds posted but not easy to compare without reading each post.

Post in the Poll and lets get some real results.

Please follow these instructions so we can get REAL comparisons

1. Download and install the Speedtest.net app
2. Make sure your iPhone is on 3G NOT wifi
3. Run the test and post your download result in the poll.

AT&T 3G vs Verizon 3G

I just completed a test between a AT&T iPhone and Verizon iPhone. Test was conducted at the same time, only a few feet away from each other. AT&T had 4 bars and Verizon had 5. Here are the results,...

AT&T-

Ping: 314ms
Download: 1.25Mbs
Upload: 0.93Mbs

Verizon-

Ping: 349ms
Download: 0.96Mbps
Upload: 0.13Mbps

So much for an AT&T advantage in my area...

What's the point of this thread? We all know AT&T speed is faster. How are numbers on a poll gonna change anything? Who cares if you get 3.1 Mbps and he gets 2.7 Mbps. Close this pointless thread.

If you don't care, don't open the thread.

I care and I think its interesting.

WOuld a average user really see a difference in speed from 1.09 to 3.0 ? Im curious if its really noticeable.

I'd like to see a screenshot of the person who clicked "Verizon > 4 Mbps / sec "
Is that even possible with Verizon's 3G?
The highest speed I heard/saw from VZ is between 2-3Mbps.
Here's mine below:

If you don't care, don't open the thread you _____.

And why should anybody care about what you say?

People can start threads freely whether you think it's pointless or not.

btw who voted for Verizon > 4 Mbps / sec?

screenshot perhaps?

sorry, but does it really matter? i can stream netflix on my iVerizon phone just fine with no picture issues.

Data speed apps don't really matter.

Web page load times do, for me.

we're not going to see many verizon screenshots here. because download speed, unlike anecdotal coverage stories, can be quantified. and we all know who in general has the upper hand in dl speed.
