I have no preference for either. I actually like Thums Up (Indian cola) over the both of them. I just wish they used sugar rather than high fructose corn syrup to sweeten the U.S. sodas. In any case, soda drinking is very rare these days.

Once upon a time I would have said Pepsi, but I find that too sweet now so Coke it is. :)

Cherry Coke is my favourite, though I do really like the new Diet Coke Cherry. :D

I'm not particularly fond of plain Diet Coke, I prefer Diet Pepsi over that. ;)

In a can? Pepsi.

In a glass with ice? Pepsi.

From the fountain? Still Pepsi, although this is when Coke tastes its best. I'm not a huge fan of coke in a can. And I'm not a huge fan of anything in a plastic bottle, although I drink plenty of them.

Everything is best in glass over ice. Except Mountain Dew– I'll take that in a can every time. Strange, huh?

Coke definitely... Pepsi by comparison just tastes flat.

I like that Coke has a certain bite to it, whereas Pepsi makes me feel like I'm drinking flat colored sugar water or sweet tea.

Unfortunately, my wife prefers Pepsi... we're a House Divided. :)

I like Pepsi better than Coke, although if I'm having pizza Coke just tastes better with it. I don't have a major preference like some people I know that refuse to drink one or the other, but when I have the choice.. it's Pepsi:)

Most of the time I don't drink soda of any sort...but on the very rare day (usually it's insanely hot and late July) that I do feel the need, my priority list is:

1-Sprite
2-Slice
3-Fresca
4-Coke

and so on until:

1,000,004-Pepsi

:p

Hate the stuff.

I'm gonna have to go with Coke. Pepsi is a bit too sweet, in my opinion. Nothing like an ice cold coke after cutting the grass on a hot summer day... mmmmmm drinking it till your throat burns and your eyes water....

My grandfather managed a Pepsi plant for over a decade, so when I was younger Pepsi was all that I was allowed to drink in terms of soft drinks.

Now that I live alone I feel guilty because I like Coke much more and that's what I buy. :p

As a tangent...

For about 25 years I've been a die-hard Pepsi fan. Actually, I liked both but preferred Pepsi. About six months ago I dropped caffeine from my diet. So, obviously, I tried out the caffeine-free flavors of soda.

Caffeine-free Pepsi tastes ASS! :D

Uuugh, it's horrible stuff! On the ohter hand, caffeine-free Coke actually tastes, well, like Coke. So now I'm drinking caffeine-free Coke.

I just found it funny that it took a dietary change to have me switch brands. :)

When I was young, my cat was run over by a Pepsi truck (or so my dad told me). So I like Coke.

Ok, so the story is theoretically true, but it's not the reason I chose Coke. I really only drink Sprite, which is a Coke product, if I drink soda, which is rarely.

Coke creates a sweeter urine.
Urine taster just made it to the top of my "worst jobs" list.

As far as colas go, I prefer RC Cola.

You know, RC Cola is a weird thing in my life. I loved it as a kid, and every once in a while, I look for it in the soda aisle, but I've never found it. I just assumed they had stopped production.

With the way it returns to me (no, I'm not talking about burping), I suppose RC Cola is as close as I'll get to redemption (no, I'm not talking about five cents for the can).

Eww, soda is gross. I can't stand it. I have actually never swallowed that stuff.

back on topic...
From best to worst, only in the diet/regular list
1) Diet Coke with splenda
2) Diet Coke
3) Coke
4) Coke Zero
5) Pepsi
6) Diet Pepsi

I like Fresca sometimes, but have generally been trying to drink less soda. Although I seem to be giving up coffee for a DC in the morning.

"They both taste like malted battery acid." ...100 points to whoever knows where that's from.

It's all I drink as far as soda goes. Good marketing, that stuff has...nowhere is it ever referred to as "diet," though that's what it is; no sugar or anything. I would never have started buying it if I'd noticed, since generally diet soda has a yucky aftertaste. But not Fresca for some reason.

Actually, I forgot about another soda I occasionally enjoy - Boylans. They use cane sugar as opposed to high fructose corn syrup, and use no artificial colorings or flavorings. Good stuff.

Mmmm. Black Cherry. :D

Echoing many others: Coke over Pepsi, but Mountain Dew is encoded into my DNA. I've burned out my caffeine response drinking it.

THE best snack for a hot afternoon: Cheese Nabs (those orange crackers with the peanut butter in them) and Coca-Cola in a glass bottle, straight out of the icebox.

Gotta go with Coke for the best soda taste. Cherry Pepsi is next up.

Sometimes I'll make my own drink with regular Pepsi and mixed in Lemon juice or Kyro syrup.

Dr. Pepper takes the 3 spot.

Oh yeah..and soda is the drink of choice with Pizza or Chinese. I almost consider it a necessity.

It actually depends on where you get the coke or pepsi.

example. coke tastes MUCH better as a fountain drink, pepsi takes much better in a can.

coke from Mcdonalds is the best. at least if you live in my parts of the woods

You're right, coke from McDonalds is the best. They have the mixture down just right.

...or maybe we are going to the same McDonalds. :p
