No dev, went to install iOS:7 Beta 1 on my iPhone and it unpleasantly told me it could not activate because I'm not a developer.

I'm not a dev, but I'm also not an idiot.

That being said, given what I've read about iOS 7 and it's "raw-ness" (and the fact that this is my first iOS beta download), I'm actually quite shocked by the overall stability, especially on my iPhone 5.

I started with it on the 4S and it was laggy - understandable.

So I decided to simply bite the bullet and put it on my 5 - what's the worst that could happen? So far, it's been pretty stellar. Plenty of things that I hope and guess will change, but so far, pretty smooth - especially for a Beta 1.

That being said, I know there's a lot of negativity and hate out there for people like me (who aren't a dev and yet have iOS 7 on their device). Just remember, not all of us are mindless idiots complaining about an app not working or bugs/lags. And to be quite honest, the jackholes that are complaining likely won't listen to any of us trying to explain the nuances of beta testing anyways.

I am not a developer but i installed iOS 7, did not like it die to crashes and battery life. I went back to iOS 6. Now i am happy:)

Your poll needs a third option.

Hi Dustin, no it doesn't i am only interested if you are developer or not!
if you are not a developer then you vote no!
which tells me two things 1, You have a paid dev account
or 2, you obtained the beta some other way simples

Dev

iOS7 is a bit slow on the iPhone4, runs fantastic on 4S and 5 GSM.
Been having wacky results on the CDMA versions of the iPhone, but that may just be spotty cellular ( or possibly dropping ).

Battery FIX ( well it worked for me ):
Settings->Locations->SystemServices->FrequentLocations = OFF

No dev, my UDID is registered at my brother's dev account.

So far, I've been testing app functionality and the only one that crashes on me is Skype.

I wasn't quite sure how to answer this. I answered "yes" because I have a legitimate developer account, and because I do intend to develop some apps, though I haven't done so yet. I guess I'm a potential developer.

Not a developer, but thinking about going in on a developer account with a few friends to try out the beta.

That's ok you answer no

Not a developer, not making an excuse, I have iOS 7, I shouldn't, shoot me

It's fine no need to be a dev in my book

Voting 'no' doesn't mean you obtained the beta some other way. There seem to be a lot of 'no' votes for legitimate developer accounts here who don't consider themselves to be developers. Those legitimate accounts voting 'no' still obtain the beta software the same way as the 'yes' votes.

The proper options should be:

1) Legitimate developer account
2) I stole the software from the internet

Put me down for #1. Although I'm not a professional by any means and rather more of a dabbler.

If you are a developer ie you make apps etc then you vote "YES"
if you are not a developer ie you have not made any apps then you vote "NO"

I am just simply trying to establish who is a dev and who is not

I am a registered paying developer and actually develops.... Apparently a rare species around these parts.
