firefox is alrite but apple's IE is treating me right.

Nuff.
You are kidding aren't you:confused: it's got to be the worst browser ever, I only use it for pages that won't display in either Safari or Firefox. It's soooo sssloooow.

I use Safari because I'm too lazy to change it from being the default application to open with mail etc, I do like the spell checker though, I think Firefox is good to use when a page refuses to load in Safari.

You realize that all it takes to change it is to change one dropdown menu once, accessable through the preferences of *any* major Mac browser, right?

Edit: My bad, you're on Panther. Umm... either my comment still applies, or all it takes to change it is to change one dropdown menu in the System Prefs. Can't remember that far back. :p

Erm yes like I said I'm lazy, in my profession " if it ain't broke don't fix it" :D

Definitely Firefox on both platforms... Safari is slow and doesn't have the plugin architecture or developer community that Firefox has. I don't think I could stand the internet anymore without my precious Adblock plugin in Firefox.

Having a poll like this precipitates browser wars. :p

Firefox on both Mac and Windows. Why?

* Fast render times of the Gecko engine - still seems snappier than Safari, IMO.
* The "Find" bar that finds as you type is awesome.
* Extensions, Extensions, Extensions...
- AdBlock
- All-in-One Gestures (very customizable mouse gesturing)
- Bug-me-not (provides logins for non-subscription sites that require logins i.e. New York Times)
- MiniT (allows you to re-order the tabs)
- IE View (for Windows) adds right-click option to open page/link in IE for pages that don't play nice with Firefox. I wish they had a Safari View exension.
- Tabbrowser Preferences - allows you to tweak the tabbed browsing options in a very detailed fashion.

Safari on my Mac, Firefox on my PC. When I initially switched to Mac, Firefox wasn't really that popular yet, and admittedly I wasn't very aware of it. So, I used Safari, since it came with my Mac and all, and absolutely loved all the features, the speed, reliabiity, ease of use - everything. Then, when I started looking at Firefox a bit more, I really liked it too, as it reminded me of Safari in many aspects, so that's all I use on my PC now. As for my Mac though, I love Safari, so I have no urge to use Firefox instead, even though in my mind they are almost equals.

At the moment Safari (2.0.2) is my favorite browser. With AcidSearch and the above mentioned Taboo installed AdBlock is the only thing I really miss from Firefox, but Safari's RSS handling beats FF's live bookmarks hands down and then there's the spell checker...

Now, if someone improves Firefox' RSS handling and adds Mac OS X' systemwide spell checker, then I might switch back to Firefox... ;)

Thanks for the link for AcidSearch. Opera has this function built in and I've benn missing it since I made the move to Tiger/Safari 2.0

I use Safari for a while, but it always seems to get bogged down, slower, and crashier, so I switch to FireFox...a few weeks after I switch there's a new Safari update and the cycle renews.

I use Mozilla for the rare occasions I have to go back to OS 9, as using IE for 9 is like standing in front of a firing squad...

What's Your Favorite Browser?

What browser do you use most often?

I've just downloaded Camino for Mozilla, and it's very nice.
But my current fave is Firefox.

Firefox on my PC is a necessity.

On my Mac, I've got Firefox, Camino and Safari all installed. At first I used Firefox, then I fell in love with Camino, then I found all the ways to customize Safari.

So now, I use Safari with the SafariSpeed and Safari Enhancer (unified/aqua look) along with a CSS from Mozilla that cuts back on most adverts.

I started out using Safari on my Mac, but I've grown to love Camino and now use it almost exclusively. Camino just seems more stable and I just love the look and feel of it. For those two reasons, I can forgive it for not having built-in RSS. On Windows, Firefox is my browser of choice bar none.

I use Camino and Shiira. Both are extremely good browsers.

I only use Safari for my cell phone service site. It seems to hate all mozilla browsers and crashes shiira.. although safari handles it well..

When am on the darker side, Firefox/K-Meleon do the job for me. I just hope K-Meleon is ported to mac.. it is an increadible browser!

Opera just seems too "heavy". The interface isn't one that you'll love at the first sight.

Shiira. Its brilliant. Combines the use of OSX services, yet is incredibly fast and snappy.

Obviously Safari on the Mac and less obviously Explorer on the PC. I like using system-integrated browsers and I have an unconditional hate of anything from the Mozilla organisation. I can't explain it, I just hate all of their products. It's completely unfounded.

safari except when pages don't load right (which is happening less and less as time goes on) i use firefox. I think safari is much better than firefox.

tabbed browsing?

is there a way to do tabbed browsing in safari?
I use Deeppark, the new FF for intel, and camino. Camino is definitly the fastest and I find that the JAVA engine and plug ins for camino work better. I know it should be the same engine, but some sites ONLY play with camino.

Preferences -> Tabs -> Enable Tabbed Browsing
