Already have a 7" Playbook, and that display is uncomfortably small.

Same here but when I see how much bigger the rumored 8" iPad display is than the Playbook's, it gets me interested. What remains to be seen is the actual physical size of the device including the bezel.

Yes! A smaller iPad I can slip out of my jacket pocket, my existing iPad I have to take out of my bag.

It would be more convenient but I wouldn't have it instead of, it would be in addition to.

I am lucky to be able to have this conversation.

For me, the decision of a 7" vs current iPad size is 100% based on what I'm intending to use it for.

If I intend to bring my iPad with me for business travel as "my" computer and do email/web or use it for taking notes, the larger one is superior imo.

But if I'm just getting it for the hell of it I guess a smaller one is far superior.

I'm not considering one, since I already have an iPad. But I don't understand what there is to argue about. If Apple introduces one, then there is another option for people to choose from. It's win all around for everyone.

This. I need the larger iPad for work purposes and don´t need another device in addition to my smart phone. On the other hand, I generally quite like the 7" devices. My husband just got a Samsung Galaxy that size and it´s pretty cool, works well as an e-reader, and is much more portable than an iPad.

7" iPad is the one I have been waiting for. If it does turn out to be true (I have a hunch that it is), I will be purchasing one for sure.

Why do we need to poll if there is no SUCH 7" iPad exist? Save it until AFTER it is released!

Rumor about new 7" iPad is a joke!

The question is WOULD you consider buying one, not WILL you buy one. The question implies that the iPad Nano does not exist and is a hypothetical situation.

I would definitely consider one, conditionally. I'd pay as much as $300-350 depending on certain factors such as storage and retina display. I'd there we're no retina,I'd have a hard time tearing myself away from my current iPad. And I'd want an option to have 32 GB or more of storage

I'd only be interested in buying one because I'm a developer, and I'd want to make versions of my apps for the smaller screen.

There are two reasons I don't have an iPad now...portability and price. If it were smaller I could take it with me more and it would be worth the price. A smaller one solves my issue and would be a definite yes.

Ive got a iPad and a nexus 7. Got the nexus 7 to see what 7" is like (quiet at the back!;) )

for me the 7" screen is too small for this type of device.

So, no. I would not want a 7" iPad, I still think Steve was right!

I own an iPhone 4S, and I have an iPad 2 from work, so no, I wouldn't consider buying ANY iPad at this point.

Depending on what is offered with 7" iPad in terms of hardware, yes I would definitely consider it.

I voted no because I already have a iPad and there are not enough situations where I'd need to use a smaller size. I drool over a MacBook Air but then realize my PC laptop is sitting in the corner collecting dust because I'm using my iPad most of the time.

I definitely would. I picked up a nexus 7" since it was cheap and a smaller form factor that I have been wanting for a while. The iPad is used as a web browser 99% of the time, and is annoying to hold for hours at a time. Found myself not missing the iPad once in four days and sold it to pay for the Nexus and then some. If Apple releases a 7" iPad I'm sure I will switch back, but for web browsing and occasional gaming the nexus 7" excels. I do find myself gaming more too as the smaller screen works better in my opinion (specifically on FPSs). I do have an iPhone 4S so still have access to any iOS apps I need, and feel the Nexus 7 compliments it nicely.

Also portability is a great feature as well and I can easily throw it in my jacket pocket or jeans pocket and find I have it with me much more than the iPad.

I probably would if the price was right. I have a lot of iPad applications to use, but nothing too urgent. I passed my iPad 1 along my family and eventually bought a Kindle. I'm also anticipating how the new iPhone would look like, if bigger and would rather suffice my iPad needs. Let's wait and see.

Rumor about new 7" iPad is a joke!

Care to explain the joke ?

Because at this point, the 7.85" iPad mini is more or less a fact. Most mainstream media sources report it as a fact, it's way past the rumor stage. Suppliers in China are ramping up production, parts float around everywhere.

For me, no, as I'm already content with my iPad 3. However for the kids, maybe...depending on value and cost.

Another point, I would much rather have the next gen iPhone before I get another iPad ;)

If it's $250 or less I'll buy two for my kids. If it's $300 I wouldn't, I'd just buy refurbed iPad 2's for $300 and get them the larger screen. For me it's about price and not portability.
