Its amazing to see so many people ascociate Samsung with Android, especially as they offer Bada and Windows Phone 7 handsets (the Omnia 7 was a stunning phone with a metal chassis and SAMOLED screen - fantastic handset from my past).

As for the OP's question, I'll gladly get another Samsung handset, especially if they make the fourth generation Nexus handset and turns out to be good.

I don't care who makes the hardware (currently use ZTE, Samsung, HTC, Apple and Asus made tablets/phones), all I care about is if the product is right for me.

Brand loyalty doesn't go very far with me I'm afraid.

I'd never consider another brand phone because phones nowadays depend so much on third-party apps to supplement the device, and I already invested too much money on iOS apps. Not going to buy everything again.

Switching hardware brand is too expensive.

I've owned a few Samsung phones. The interface was fine but in all 3 cases the phone broke after a year, just out of warranty. I have no desire to get another interim phone off eBay again, been there done that.

I don't know about my friend, but I like physically connecting my phone. Not only does it give me a chance to charge my phone, but I like the permanence. Roll your eyes all you want, but I don't want android dictating how I should use my phone.
You never really need to physically connect an android phone to the computer as everything is in the "cloud".

Maybe I would have before, but at this point Samsung is just getting ridiculous. All they do now is rip your company off, then proceed to make fun of the people who like your company.

The only Samsung phone I would ever even CONSIDER would be one of the Samsung Focus Windows Phones, and even then, I could probably find something better.

What about you guys though? Would you maybe consider giving Samsung a spin one day, or do you hate them into oblivion?

Your poll is flawed. It needs to include a choice indicating that " I did buy a Samsung phone and am happy with it".

After two months with a Focus, I can fo shizzle say no way foshizzle will I ever own another Samsung phone. Cheap cheap cheap.

How old are you any way??

NO! NEVER!! I dislike the build quality as well as the radio quality of Samsung phones. Although I have never an Android Samsung, I have used them and have owned Samsung "feature" phones in the past.

One moment I'll never forget is being at VZW on the Galaxy Nexus launch day. I was the first on in the store. I picked up the GN and the back fell off immediately. I was buggy and froze twice in the 15 minutes that I played with it. I was not a fan of Samsung phones before that but that experience sealed the deal for me.

This has nothing to do with the Samsung vs. Apple patent issue, just the fact that IN MY OPINION, Samsung phones are garbage. And this is coming from a current Android owner who is anxiously awaiting his 4s to arrive.

Number 1 reason for me. Samsung feels cheap. it looks cool for a month until they replace your phone with a better one and suddenly yours starts scratching and you realize it's cheap garbage.

Marketing can change your outlook on how you view companies. If a company is going to insult me then try to make me buy their product, why would I give them my money?

Maybe I'll get over it, but I just think companies are stupid for trying to get people to use their products by insulting the competition. I felt the same way about Apple during those god-awful "I'm a Mac" ads.
Obvious your not in marketing or anything related... that was a simple "mocking" campaign in a joking way, actually had this discussion on here already. Which is one of my businesses ;) , we chatted about it one day and all of us loved it, didn't think it was insulting in any way. They were poking fun at the "sheeple" nomenclature that is attached to Apple product users.

If you thought that was insulting.... man you take life pretty hard lol. Lighten up. BTW Samsung is pry the largest "parts" manufacturer in the electronic sector, although quite a few companies intermingle with each other, majority use Samsung made screens, electronics, parts etc even if there's another "brand" name attached ;)

I put down never, because I highly doubt that an android phone will ever work as well with my mac as my iphone. Also, I have issue with Ars described cheapness of the plastic on the S3. No thanks.
This was something that came up in conversation with a friend, who has a 13" mbp. She thought about an android phone, but if it doesn't work with her mac, then what's the point? The thing keeping her on her crappy nokia is that iphone isn't available for t-mobile on contract.
If android phones (or Samsung in this case) get to the point where they do work as well with macs or better, then I'd give it a shot.
Now that's just a ridiculous and dumb response. We have iPhones, multiple ones. And the GSII syncs fine with any of my Mac products so no idea what your talking about. Actually even better sometimes as I can just mount the phone and move whatever files, music etc I want over and into the exact folder or section I want w/o dealing with itunes.

God, you marketing people are all the same. Consumers should just shut up and take whatever **** you dish out, and be happy, right?

I heard all about those backs falling off the nexus phones! C'mon dude, come up with some other bull to spew! No one believe that garbage.

Perhaps you could read all about it over at forums.androidcentral.com or droidforums.net. There was a lot of discussion about it when the GN was first released. That was my first impression of the GN and many others have complained about it as well.

Would you like me to point you to the threads discussing it or can you find them on your own?

I got a free Samsung Focus S windows phone and have been
using it for about a month. I still have my iPhone 4S and have
been swapping sim cards back and forth to get a good comparison
between the two. The Samsung phone so far has proven very
nice in terms of build quality and design. I probably wouldn't have
considered a Samsung phone before but I definitely would in the
future.

Well...I posted this in the iPhone section...hoping that iPhone owners would the be the ones answering...

I don't like that tey don't offer a phone with a smaller scream they promote all their phones with large screens I like like my iPhone 4 screen. I like being able to pull it in and out of my pocket and it not looking like I have a huge bonner every where I go. lol just saying.

Oh I get it. You don't want the ones who already switched over answering the poll right?

Ok. I believe you. If you say it is so, it must be so.

i received my samsung gsm galaxy nexus from the google store today... it wouldn't maintain a wifi connection at home or work, kept dropping after a couple mins of use, wifi icon would disappear, reappear and connect again. at work we use some fairly expensive cisco ap's that blanket each floor.. i was standing right under one of those. at home i've got a standard residential router that does 2.4ghz/5ghz. it didnt care what band it was on, the signal was always super low and it would always drop during use.

i called google to get it rma'd and no matter what i couldn't get them to waive the 15% restocking fee.

guess the iphone really is that much better for me.

Have you missed the flooding of threads on here with issues regarding the iPhone? It happens, maybe you got a bad one. If that happened with an iPhone you'd take it back to get replaced right? I've already had two 4S's, nevermind previous replacements for the 4 back when among other issues. Most of my employee's have iPhones and we see issues both software and hardware. I wouldn't hold it against Samsung, just like I don't hold our issues against Apple, ***** happens. I've had my GSII since last Nov and not one problem, just buttery smooth and fast.

what's your point? i've had my 4s since oct without a single issue. we can't discuss samsung phones in a samsung thread?

get over it.

Used to own a Galaxy S and absolutely hated it. Switched to the 4S shortly after launch and haven't looked back.

Girlfriend has a Galaxy S II, always said she really liked it until she switched to an iPhone 4 through her work for a couple weeks. Now she got me to post an ad on Kijiji looking for someone to swap their iPhone for her S II.

All in all, I'm sure Samsung make some great phones, I know I love their displays, but I don't think I would go down that road again if only because I like my iPhone that much more than any others.

Samsung phones always seem to be made of the thinnest plastic available. Nice for weight savings but terrible for the confidence of the user. I felt like the phone was going to get crushed in my hand!
