I'm considering the Galaxy S IV:

Naturally being an Apple forum where some would rather argue, than discuss, I'm not sure what the point is. Having every intention on voting, there's no choice "I have a Samsung and like it".

Me? I have owned every iPhone since day one, and every Android powered Galaxy S (GSM) made to date. I rate them Apple #1, then Samsung a very close #2. I've already ordered a Galaxy S3. Once I experience that phone, it may tie or exceed my smartphone expectations. I carry both an iOS & Android phone daily as I have two numbers for certain reasons. Both on AT&T which has stellar voice & data in my area, I'm very happy with both.

I have but one desire for the upcoming iPhone. It's got to have a larger display. If not, I'm not giving up, but I will keep my iPhone 4S. A milestone of negative proportions. I've never not upgraded my Apple computers, pads & phones annually.

It probably makes little, if any difference to the uninitiated that drive Apples sales volume to epic proportions. Like some of the Apple users say, it's not about specs. Just the experience.

The average Joe has no clue, other than Apples perceived as cool. Therefore Apple seemingly can do no wrong. It's their amazing marketing model.

I will only own apple products from now on. I have had nothing but good luck from them (knock on wood)

Really? Then I seriously hope you don't have an iPhone. Worst phone for actual phone usage. This has never been a strong point for the iphone. At best, the 3GS was decent, but every other iPhone is pedestrian when it comes voice quality, and reception. Nokia phones have been the strongest in this area.

What? I have a Verizon iPhone 4s and has the 4 before this. Both have had the same great reception and call quality that most other smartphones I've had, including the droid, droid x, htc rezound and many others.

i jumped on the galaxy nexus deal from the google play store... waiting on it to arrive. i've refused to own an android phone in the past due to the updates filtering from google->manufacturer->provider->user so at least with this one it will be google->user. hopefully i'll like it... if not, i still have my iphone 4s.

Yes and I've already owned one. It was a Focus before it got stolen. Probably my 2nd fav phone ever. I will consider their phones and they are my preferred choice for HDTV's.

LOL at everyone voting no. Samsung is one of the largest suppliers of iPhone parts, including the A4/A5 processors, NAND flash, and (on some devices) displays.

You're basically buying half a Samsung phone when you buy an iPhone.

Yup. In fact I'm considering on buying the SIII when it comes out. I have an open mind so I'm willing to give other things a try.

I had the Samsung Epic 4G. After the Froyo update, I realized how much I absolutely hated the device. It felt cheap, the radios were horrible, and it bugged and lagged like crazy. There were some things I liked on Android, but my experience with the Samsung Epic 4G made me really sour on the Android experience.

After months of having a GPS that couldn't lock on any closer than within 50 years, WiFi that only worked within 25 feet of my router (and required a reset to reconnect if I ever lost reception), battery was horrible, never being able to play games because of the lag, amongst other things, I called Sprint and told them that I wanted a new phone, but I didn't want to pay the ETF (or I wanted it reduced). It was a glorified texting device. I was so sick of the phone, but I was nice to them and they lowered the ETF to $65. After that, it was iOS or bust for me.

Would ever I ever consider another Samsung phone? Maybe the Nexus, but that's about it. I don't pay attention to the advertising to be honest.

I've owned a few Samsung phones and although this was years ago, they were terrible and the battery life plummeted months after purchase.

I don't know about todays phones but it left a bad taste in my mouth and since I'm super happy with my iPhone I probably won't grab a Samsung phone anytime soon.

But its not the same software...

Performance and value of a product > brand anytime. ANYTIME!

You are an idiot if you think otherwise.

This post makes more sense than anything I've ever read on this forum. I've also bolded what I think is an important point. This year, more than any in the past, more people here are clamoring for a larger screen. That says a lot and I hope Apple is listening.

i bought a galaxy note just to fill my curiosity with android.

the screen is really nice, there is no going back to a small 3.5" screen for me. i read comics alot with comixology app and it sucks on the iphone.

btw the galaxy note comes with gingerbread which sucks and slow especially in scrolling a website, it's lagging, but not anymore after i installed ICS custom rom called Stunner. it's smooth now, probably about 80% of smoothness of the iOS.

android apps suck so bad, every apps in iOS that available in android too really like day and night, the iOS apps are much fluid and smooth compared to ones in android.

for example, the facebook app and speedtest app.

thing i like about the note is i can play ps, snes, and a lot of emulators with my ps3 bluetooth controller using an app called sixaxis controller and i can download files from internet and can download torrents too using a torrent client. it's giving a freedom of using a computer than a phone.

hope apple someday release a 5" ipod touch with 3g, or a 5" ipad mini, then i'd be the first to queue in line. 5" iphone is preferable though because i can use it for phone and text messaging.

I won't say I never will, but they'd have to actually impress me first. The Galaxy SIII did not impress me.

Not a basic phone. Not again. I've had several, and they all had volume and quality issues. Fool me once, fool me twice, etc. The last refresh for basics I went with a RAZR and my wife went to Nokia stick. Both were better. And now we are trying some LGs for the basic phones for other family members.

Possibly a smartphone, esp now that we have a Samsung tablet in the house and will start having apps for Android. But I like the Apple ecosystem, so there really isn't much reason to abandon it on the device I use daily.

Marketing can change your outlook on how you view companies. If a company is going to insult me then try to make me buy their product, why would I give them my money?

Maybe I'll get over it, but I just think companies are stupid for trying to get people to use their products by insulting the competition. I felt the same way about Apple during those god-awful "I'm a Mac" ads.

Tivo, dude.

Here's my answer to Samsung ads:
What ad?

Well, as a tech enthusiast I can't help but admire Samsung as a company. They seem to manufacture almost literally everything, from usb sticks to tv's to shovels to entire oil rigs. And a shtload of parts for other consumer electronics companies. A true giant. With that said, their phones leave me stone cold. I'm not impressed with their build quality, I'm not impressed with their blatant iPhone/iPad copies, and I'm not impressed with Android, which I consider far from mature and far from optimized compared to iOS and even WP7. Which is not surprising, considering that the manufacturers of the latter two OS's experience with operating systems for battery powered devices spans over two decades. And that's besides the fact that Android is an iOS rip-off in far too many ways.

If I had a need for an Android phone right now, I'd buy an HTC One X, because I like how it looks and the camera is supposed to be one of the top contenders. Anyway, I voted maybe. Saying you never buy something from whatever company is a bit silly. Unless they screwed you over at some point.

I absolutely love my GS 2 on Sprint! it's rock solid and the screen is simply gorgeous!!

I would def. buy another Sammy product! :D

I would only consider the Samsung if they had a 4 inch screen, and Windows OS installed. I'll stick with Apple's or consider the Nokia 808 when it comes out.
