does anyone have any idea as to what the timeline posted on the website is triggered by? 1-2 weeks from when? the time they posted it? it can't be time of order placed, because most of us placed it far ahead of launch.

I know its difficult to answer everyones posts/questions in one shot, but i wish some important details were listed. He has been pretty good with emails, an i can vouche for it. he is getting back to my emails within the three days he mentioned on the post. They are just not very detailed.

It must get annoying to answer the same question over and over again. I think i speak for everyone and a detailed explanation of shipping would be appreciated. most importantly what is the start point of the 1-2 week shipping period? like a previous posted stated, doing that math, i'd get mine before the end of this week. which i highly doubt. my card hasn't even been charged yet.

I WANT MY CASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Hi, new to the board, been reading a lot of the threads around here though.

I'm torn between getting a Portenzo or getting a Smart Cover and a stick-on skin to protect the back.
I could have the second option almost immediately but may have to wait a month for the Portenzo.

One thing about the Portenzo is I've only seen ONE photo about it standing in landscape mode. Can any owners of the previous model tell me if the case is stable standing up in landscape mode? Does the strap make it easier to stand this way?

I'm just having a hard time deciding if I want the iPad as slim as possible (smartcover + skin) or the undeniable cool factor of the Portenzo.

Cost is almost the same, so that's not an issue.

Anyone want to convince me that I NEED the Portenzo and it'll be worth the wait? Or that the smart cover isn't really that great?

And with the shipping, if I was to order a case today, do you think I'll get a shipping credit? Getting it shipped to Canada

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

BSE back and smartcover work well. Still want portenzo.

New to forum also. I went the route of buying a BSE back and smartcover combo. Really like this setup. I also keep this in a sleeve when I am traveling. Now I posted earlier that I have ordered a dodocase, octavo, and portenzo. I decided to let all of them come in. I will evaluate them and then sell the ones I don't want on Ebay. First Ipad and yes I did go overboard but I am really enjoying the device. I will say the smartcover BSE combo works well for me. So much so I question the need for the other covers, but they will be fun to play with. If you can afford it, go ahead and get the back protection for the times you will have the ipad "naked", a cheap sleeve would be all you would need for protection. I am looking forward to seeing all of these together. And by the way this forum is great. Thanks for all the posts.

There is nothing like a portenzo for keeping your iPad on the downlow while you travel. It doesn't scream iPad. The only people who might know you have an iPad are other iPad owners.

Thanks. I saw this video already, but the guy doesn't actually USE the iPad in the case. Just compliments it's finish. I need to know if it will stand up in landscape. And if the sound is still decent quality being ported out the front.

I sold my original Portenzo case with my iPad 1 but I can attest to the fact that it does stand up very well in landscape mode, the strap is needed on smooth surfaces though. As far as the sound is concerned I can't speak for the new model but the sound channel on the original sounded very clear and a bit deeper in the base notes than going caseless. I bought the new Apple Smartcover and returned it, it was nice but very little protection for the money. I'm patiently awaiting my new Portenzo case while my iPad 2 sits in a crappy Griffin case I will be returning.

^^ Thanks a richer!

Anyone used the Octavo? Doesn't look nearly as nice judging by the pics they have on their website.

I think I might order a back skin, but one that doesn't go right to the edges so it fits in the Portenzo and when it comes out, still has some protection on the back. I just find my tungsten ring bangs against the back right now and am afraid it's going to scratch. I think I'll order one from juststickit as they ship from Vancouver, I'm in Calgary, should be her in no time and then put my Portenzo order in and hopefully have it soonish.

Just wondering what kind of deal they're gonna cut to Canadians. He said there would be a credit, but didn't specify how much...

I keep hearing that the Octavo is built better than Portenzo. I am waiting for actual comparison reviews.

Hmm, the Octavo is the same price but with the Smart Cover magnets already installed. AND ships almost immediately.... Just made it a lot harder to decide!!!

Anyone have experience with both the Gen 1 Portenzo and Octovo??

Ordered Black Morocco Portenzo. I know there's a wait but that's the one I wanted and hopefully I'll be happy with it.

Shipping Estimates...?

Has any that preordered received an order yet? Has anyone gotten a shipping estimate? I can wait but the suspense is killing me!

I have put on a BSE back on my iPad 2. Anyone with experience knows if this will work with these types of cases. I really do not want to remove my back case. I have ordered a Dodo back just in case.

if that were the case we would all have them. i was thinking it was based on when you ordered. so in my case 1-2 weeks from march 19. but that would mean i would be accepting delivery this week. which i doubt, because they have not charged my card yet.

if thats the case i will ask for a refund. they JUST posted an update saying 1-2 weeks. from what? the day the changed it? seriously!!!

They won't tell you precise because then they know you will cancel.

These people still have not responded to my cancellation request from a week ago. Luckily Amex knows how to deal with shifty merchants.

Will be funny when people never get their cases after 25 pages of fellating this case maker.

Don't expect speed when you hire hippies to make you something.
