Portenzo iPad 2 Case: Now a Smart Cover

Perhaps it looks more "cracked," but as an owner of a Morocco iPad 1 Portenzo, I can tell you that it picks up lots of fingerprints. I'm hoping the greater texture of the Levant eliminates that this go around.

I don't think people were claiming conspiracy or ripoff. But "ships in 7-14 days" became 3 weeks without advance notice. There still is no more certain timeline other than Levant will be quicker.

I am looking forward to pics of these cases in 1-2 months when they will start arriving at people's doors. By then, I'll be checking out iPad 3 cases.

I'm a little skeptical too. This thread is pretty big and it's a bit surprising that no one here has received their case especially since Portenzo is "almost back up to speed". I want to be optimistic on one hand but on the other hand.....
 
I never screamed conspiracy, I am sure the portenzo will be great, whenever it shows up. I would rather buy a case that is ready now.

Wingtip ETA?

I'm impressed by everything I read so far and want to order one of your cases for the iPad2 that I'm expecting sometime this week--understanding that it'll be as long as a few weeks before I can actually get the Portenzo case. Right now I think I like the look of the wingtip case the best. No option for that and the iPad2 on your website though. So...

First when are those expected to be available for ordering?

Second, I assume the material used is the library buckram? It's that for both the main part and the corners/inside cover? I've got a thought about another possible option for materials that I may ask about for a fancier wingtip type case, but I'll save that for email once I've gotten a first case--and may save the idea for a kindle case if I ever convince my wife to get a kindle! :)

Third, for you and anybody else: Got any better pictures of the wingtip than what's on the website and facebook page? I'd really like to see what the sheen and texture look like.

I originally thought this also, so I've been dragging (literally) my Twenty Three And A Half around for about a week now, and purposefully seeing how much it can take, and testing it's 'clean-ability'. I can definitely say that, so far, it has exceeded my expectations. I'm still grinding it in to every dirt pile I come across, I'll keep you posted.

Thank you for the response. That actually makes me think twice now about the Morocco. The 23 1/2 would be perfect but I think I'll wait for additional pix just because all white always scares me..Please keep me updated with the wear and tear of it b/c that could be the decisive decision between the Morocco or this one. Also, it'll be FREE 2day shipping as well or is that just for pre-orders?

Hey everyone,

I imagine that many people on this thread would love to have more customer pictures of various portenzo options to have a better idea of detail and choices.

Can we all make a collective effort to "pass it forward" and post up more pictures/videos to youtube and their facebook page, when you receive your case?

I plan to do this when I receive my morocco with natural insides (plus camera hole and stylus) that I just ordered. :)

so if some preorders went out already then nobody on this forum was one of those early preorder'ers :)

ok keep in mind this is a dodocase for ipad 2.. there has been a lot of discussion about the gap that is between the ipad 2 and the cover.. i dont like that at all.. what do you guys think? :eek: saw this on their facebook page.. there is another pic different angle..

That's horrendous. Sort of ruins the whole idea of a book-style case. Glad I went with the Portenzo!

I ordered mine on March 17 after I cancel my Dodocase order, and after watching this picture, I'm glad I did! I'm sure they did that to have a higher arch for typing but after a while it will bend the cover and create nasty marks on the it. I hope this doesn't happen to the portenzo Notebook, but after watching the pictures of the 23 1/2, I believe they got it right on!!.. and I know its not the same angle, but it looks mighty tight from that one ;)

To be fair, dodocase claims that this is normal:

And once it is worn in, the gap goes away.

Not sure how this affects the spine stiffness when you flip the cover over tho.

For now, I'll wait for my Portenzo.

Availability:: Levant 1-2 Weeks/Morocco 2 -3 weeks

Hopefully it means from time of your order being placed because I am about 18 days in after I placed my Morocco order.

Looking forward for someone getting theirs and posting vid and pics
