Thank God for the Moderator check! Was soo frustrating and annoying refreshing after a few hours to see dumb ONLINE cat fights and unnecessary whining comments. Back to what the post originally started bout!

Okay back to business! Here is what the company wrote on FB an hour ago. This should clear the air a little.

Portenzo: We added beyond our basic because of high demand. No new styles. Levant/retro/23.5/composition shipping in stated time-frames (or shipped express to help compensate for any delay). Morocco starts shipping again on the 7th (delayed orders shipped express). Probably 2 weeks to complete backlog, than back to 'normal'.

Portenzo & screen protection

All,

I'm wondering if anyone feels the need to use protective film on the screen with their Portenzo (or similar products such as Octavo, etc.). I want to make sure my iPad stays in good shape (once I receive in 3 weeks or so). Just wondering if the protective film (either clear or glare reducing) is over kill or anyone would still recommend?

Slightly off topic, but still Portenzo related... so hopefully I won't get chewed up too badly. :D

lol. well i dont feel its necessary.. the glass seems to be pretty good with the occasional finger prints.. easily cleaned with a cloth.. someone else might chime in but i think if you use the portenzo case you should be ok w/o a screen protector..

aww at "no new styles"

I'm sure when the business is back to normal, they will start thinking about new styles. I believe he mentioned in an earlier post that he had something new for the summer, but now I can't find the post... maybe it was my imagination playing with my wishful thinking.

I used a power support crystal film on my first iPad with my Portenzo case and have preordered one for my iPad 2. I have a 2 1/2 year old who plays with my iPad all the time so the extra protection is a must for me. You can't go wrong with Power Support crystal films, they ate easy to install and don't detract from the beauty of the iPad screen in any way. The price is high but the piece of mind is priceless.

I humbly disagree, the Portenzo or any book cover for the iPad that might be out there by designed will not damage the screen, but because it flaps on the screen there might be particles that can get in between the screen and the cover when opening and clossing that can do more damaging than good. Its all about finding a good screen protector that you might not even know its there. The back is not super pulish so with this case should be fine to leave it as if. In any case, those are my 2 cents ;-)

One more week before Morocco even ships?! I wonder if my 3/11 preorder even gets In that shipment.

I would get a screen protector. The only reason I didn't get a ps screen and went with an sgp one was because of the wait. I'll pick one up if my sgp starts to wear.

ahh well yah when you put it that way.. its all good :)

Anyone bothering to use a dock if they are going to keep it in a Portenzo or similar style case?

Not sure if it will be too difficult to pry in and out of a case to dock it.

You're not going crazy, I remember reading that too. I tweeting them to ask for more details, but I never heard back. I think the original reference was on their Twitter feed.

It's not supposed to come out easily. I'm not planning to use any kind of dock with it.

I've decided to use a screen protector with my case. I just feel more comfortable with some sort of scratch protection. I think the above is true--I like to protect against the (possibly unlikely?) event that something gets between the case and display and scratches it. I vote extra protection.

+1 Plus i prefer PowerSupport Anti-Glare matte screen protector, cos it helps when i commute, even if the sunlight is hitting my screen, i can continue with my usual ipadding. :D

Re: Portenzo & screen protection

All.. thanks for the feedback on the screen protection film. Sounds like I'm not being crazy/overprotective by getting the film (unless, of course, we all are...).

Anyway, was going to go ahead and order the Portenzo tonight (my iPad won't arrive for 3 weeks anyway so the long wait should be too painful). Unfortunately, it looks like the security on their site isn't working correctly (Google Chrome showing an alert that portions of the page are unsecure and could be viewed in transit. Makes me a bit nervous about entering credit card there until resolved.)

If order numbers are chronological...

just wondering. for those of you who have upgraded your portenzo case and paid the difference - did that resulting confirmation give you another order number for that transaction?

This would be beneficial, so that the wide range of order numbers still waiting for shipment wouldn't really be as wide... and it wouldn't be as discouraging to see that I'm still hundreds(or thousands) away from them starting on mine. Mine is 69xx.

5400's here and my 23 & 1/2 upgrade was 6700's, no dice....

These are my numbers.....

EDIT: Keep in mind, I upgraded 9 days after my initial basic iPad case order....

Yes, when I upgraded my order to a 23.5, I was given a new confirmation number about 3000 digits higher than my first.

thanks guys! :)
heres to staying optimistic and hoping that there are a lot of changes for stylus, magnagrip, camera, levant, 23.5, composition, etc as well as kindle, iPad1 and iphone cases to make the actual number of iPad2 cases they need to make smaller than it seems!

so that we all get our cases sooner than order numbers may lead us to believe!:)
