Portenzo iPad 2 Case: Now a Smart Cover

got both of mine today.. levant with blue interior and 23.5.. i will post pics and a video review later.. however my 23.5 is missing sticker on the inside.. i thought they gave you extras just in case.. i didnt get any extras either.. i emailed Darin about it..

EDIT: got email back already.. darin said they would send me one in the mail.. sweet :)

Congratulations on your cases being delivered ;)

TP are confusing, I thought they weren't answering emails until tomorrow?

I changed my interior from Sky blue to Natural linen ... But that blue is freaking sweet!! Now I don't know if I made the right decision :eek:

yah.. i got that P&D with darker blue.. but im loving that lighter blue.. matches my background really good.. it like POPS out at you.. i like it. i also like the linen inside the 23.5.. i like how it matches the wood color.. only thing i dont like and my wife said the same thing is the black elastic strap.. but its aight.. maybe the color of the linen would of looked cleaner..

im gonna try to edit and dub my video unboxing using my ipad.. im converting the videos now.. then will sync them over to my ipad so in the morning i can narrate.. so we'll see.. i got more pics even comparing to the p&d.. but i will wait to post them until my wife gets her treegloo.. one thing i did notice right away with the portenzo cases.. i put my ipad in.. and when i was filming.. i did the shake test.. and it slid out in one corner.. so i stopped filming and looked at it.. it looked like one corner was in more then the opposite side.. so i put the ipad back in the portenzo.. and redid the shake test.. and it stayed in that time.. i did it a few more times and it never budged.. so im wondering if i really had it in good..

That's why I changed it, I thought that the natural Linen would match the wood pretty nicely. If I could have it my way, I would have the linen from the 23.5 on the notebook :D But its alright, I'm going for the conservative look, and most of my wallpapers are beige :)
 
I just got my case in today (dark blue levant magna grip w/camera). So far I really like it and I don't seem to see any defects.

I saw a post earlier asking about if the magna grip would hold it closed well. My findings are yes if you don't really really shake it. Just normal josteling around won't open it, but if I get some momentum in the swing, it will pop open. It takes more effort than it should to do that though so I am not worried about it. Plus the iPad won't fall out even if the cover opens.

WOW! That's crazy..That must have been just updated not too long ago to. "Availability:: 3-4 weeks (Quality takes time)" They have a lot of orders to take care of...Glad mine is in..

Seriously though, they need to stop taking orders until they catch up.......=/

They'll never catch up. Their cases are the best. Since people want the best they'll have to wait. Unfortunately that is the situation. It ain't pretty. But it is what it is. When they didn't have time to train their new hires properly because of the rush the new hire sent out cases with the wrong bumpers.

I hope they don't change...don't grow bigger because that will kill the quality.

They are a victim of their success. Now that their cases are getting out, people are comparing them an d Portenzo is coming out on top. So that means they'll just get more orders.

I know, wishful thinking, best scenario they are able to properly train and hire 4-6 people or whatever double their workforce is.

The case is absolutely beautiful otherwise.

Darin said he will send a replacement in 1 to 3 weeks, I asked if I can use this opportunity since I will be waiting anyways to order the 76. Lets see...

Really liking the sky blue. I placed an order on 4/10 for the sky blue levant. It will likely be a loooong wait, but it's looking like a good decision!

I think maybe orders are beginning to slow down a bit and they are getting past the new iPad release rush. I placed an order on 4/10 (so two days before you) and am about 80 spots in front of you. So, assuming order numbers really are in sequence, that's just around 40 new orders per day.

LOL I wish, he said he will include a return label with the new one, maybe I can convince him to just make me a 76 and I can pay the difference since I am waiting anyways...
 
So now Portenzo only offering Morocco from here on out?? This after an email from Darin saying Levant was his favorite.

So they basically got people to eat up whatever was left of Levant by delaying Morocco compelling them to switch.

Nice strategy.
 
order placed 3/11 morocco - no shipping notification yet...the wait continues. To top it all off my treegloo order is also delayed because they said they need to "adjust" their staining on the chocolate stain - Ill never order form portenzo again no matter how good the case is - the way he handled this was completely unprofessional.

Interesting about Treegloo. I ordered a Treegloo for my wife that was supposed to ship yesterday but is delayed because there is an issue with the suppliers of the aluminum bezel they put on the camera hole. They said it will ship this week though and they updated it to express shipping so I'm fine with that.

On a happier note...I got my tracking number for my Portenzo last night. It should get here tomorrow. Ordered Levant with red interior (changed my order from Morocco last week to try to speed things up), strap, and stylus holder (which I also addded in after the original order). I'm pretty pumped about that. I ordered on the 17th and my original order was 52xx but changed up to 95xx when I added in the stylus earlier this week.

Fingers crossed that it ships this week. Despite my number of frustrations (which have been clearly voiced by others). I'd rather have them take a few extra days and make the products correctly than rush them out and push an inferior product.

If I were you I'd just cancel the order and be done with them.
