Can anyone comment on how well the sound chamber works? I find myself cupping my hand around the iPads speaker all the time to direct the sound towards me so I'm actually looking forward to this feature.

Just got my Portenzo notebook case for my iPad 2.

Went with Levant black with dark green insert. Camera hole, magnetized cover, and elastic strap.

Really impressed with the speed - ordered April 2, received in the mail today (April 19th).

Beautiful case. Isn't 100% flush, but I think the bamboo needs to stretch a little. Case brought my new iPad 2 to a whole new level of class. Best $70 I spent - way better than any other case at the price level (especially since there are literally no cases available besides the smart cover).

I'll put up some pics tonight. Not so sure about the sound chamber, however speaker seems to sound fine. Volume/lock switch a little hard to get to because of the curvature of the device, but still accessible. Magnet cover works really well and actually holds on to without flopping around.

Overall craftsmanship is remarkable - you definitely feel like you have something special and not just another overpriced piece of plastic from a 3rd world country.

Has anyone else noticed where it once said that orders made before the 25th of March would ship by the 25th of April on Portenzo's website that has now been removed. Now in its place it just says we are doing the best we can to fill high demand.

I'd totally cancel and get one from one of the other vendors.

I will give them until the 25th I have waited over a month now so a few more days won't matter but yes i agree if its not shipped by then I will probably in fact cancel and order a Treegloo

If you need to protect your iPad2 is THAT desperately, buy something cheap, like a sleeve, and return it once you get the Portenzo.

If you are completely averse to waiting just straight up cancel and invest your monies elsewhere.

Its not a matter of needing protection for my iPad "that" badly. It's a matter of not getting the product I have purchased in the time I was told. I appreciate honesty, buying something knowing your going to return is incredibly dishonest your basically stealing the money it costs the retailer and manufacturer to deal with your return. I also appreciate being able to support a small business but if they cant deliver and repeatedly change shipping dates they will lose my business I can be patient but there is a limit. I didn't set their shipping dates they did. They can use delayed materials as an excuse but ultimately it is their failure in logistical planning (ie back up contingencies and vetting their supplier prior to a product launch) that is to blame. I understand they are a small business and that is why I am currently only venting harmlessly on a message board, they have until the 25th or they will lose my business

The fact is, I was lied too regarding shipment dates. I have emails from Darrin giving me specific timelines (not suggestions) that were broken. That's horrible customer service. I was told originally that it WILL ship on 4/8. Then, I was told by 4/13. Then told by 4/15. ALL of these dates were broken. After finally giving HIM a deadline to ship it by 4/20 or I will cancel my order (Sent him the email on 4/17) he shipped it on 4/18.

If you ask anyone they will tell you that is extremely poor customer service. I posted my experience on their main website and it has already been marked as "Helpful" so they probably have lost business off that review a lone, and my Facebook comments were liked on their page where I told my story, and defended myself against "Carl". If it were my company, I would realize there is a problem.

I wish would have shot photos of my Alano before selling it with my original iPad, it looked as new as the day I bought it after over 7 months of heavy use. The Alano is leather though so I can't speak to how the synthetics will hold up.

After 12 months I'll be buying the iPad3 at that point and likely having to get a new case for that one just like with the iPad2.

Not everyone wants to, or needs to upgrade on a yearly basis.

I am mad. I ordered on 3/17, and upgraded to the 23 1/2 the min Darin sent the email out. I have been patient about shipping dates and very understanding. When he had the contest to guess why 23 1/2 is named that, my guess was creative enough for him to refund the upgrade fee which was awesome. After a few emails that my case would go out on specific dates I sent another email yesterday to get an update. Liz told me my order had been canceled and she doesn't know why, and for me to place the order again.

No thanks. I waited caseless since launch day for a Portenzo casp, only to have my order canceled. They lost me as a customer.
