My replacement case has been shipped. First one had some issues with iPad falling out. Hope this second one works properly.

Team Portenzo was pretty quick in getting me a new case. About a week turnaround. GREAT service!

Just got the box in the mail, haven't opened it yet. Would anyone like to own this one? I'm not looking to make money, just maybe could make someone else happy to get one sooner.

I would take it off your hands if you are looking to sale it. It's basically what I was going to order from them anyways. PM me your information (Paypal if possible), etc and you got yourself a deal!

The reply...

We're currently shipping into the #6000s. We are still catching up on some older 23.5s and Moroccos. We cannot give you any more specific information at this time. By late next week, we should be able to update you solely based on your order number. Until then, please be patient– know that we are working very hard to catch up on all orders.

You will get a shipping notification when it ships with tracking information. Please do not to respond to ask for more specific information, as we do not have it. Your case will ship as soon as our creative little hands can make it. Again, thank you for your patience. In general, we will not respond to order status inquiries at this time.

I received the same reply. This, actually, is the kind of information I was looking for... basically, where they are with processing Morocco orders and (at least a guess) of how the time line looks.

Would I like to have my order in hand? Of course. Would I like to confirm there aren't any problems with my order (since some have reported their orders were being held up by billing questions or were cancelled, etc.)? Sure.

But this is enough to keep me confident that I will get my case eventually. Hopefully they will start posting an updated) version of this daily to their site, FB, and Twitter. I think it would help create more peace of mind in their customer base.

Wow. Such arrogance. They basically told you to shut up and stop bothering them while they rip you off.

They expect you to hand over a lot of money for a premium case and tell you not to have the insolence to ask when you might be lucky enough to receive what you paid for.

Their responses on Facebook are a joke also. Posters with the same orders are getting wildly variable shipping estimates. They haven't got a clue what they're doing and. They think that it doesn't matter because they have enough orders to keep them busy.

I just wish that Dodo or Treegloo would improve their designs a little to compete with Portenzo.

Sounds to me like you are just not able to be pleased. I keep reading that all people want is a little honesty and when you get it all you want to do is still complain. As far a Treegloo and Dodo are concerned, I think they have a long way to come before they can match Portenzo quality. Of course that is based on reviews I have seen here.
I did not see where they told them not to ask. But I do see where some people would get that e-mail and turn around and e-mail again and again. Then instead of answering others e-mails they are spending half a day answering the same poeple.

The only selling point of Portenzo cases are their frames. everything else is as same as treegloo or any other moleskin cases.
And they are charging over 100 dollars only for these wooden frames, well its fine as long as they can deliver the item at a reasonable time, and to top it all.. so much arrogance.

Seems they get the case covers from some third party vendor who supplies to all the other moleskin case manufacturer.. but the interior wooden frame is what makes portenzo stand out.. seems they are not being able to get morocco covers from the vendor on time.

I don't know if I would agree with this statement totally. I have not heard of any other case makers offering caovers made with Ostrich, Stingray and more at any time. So is the information that I have found about them is correct they cannot be compared to others and what they offer.

Sorry I thought because the fb guy stated that "My time worths more than 10+ mails interchanged for nothing." that it had to be from his most recent email. All I know is that when I showed them that my 23.5 did not have clear bumpers or the engraving they replaced it immediately. I never uttered the word replacement in my email and I just inquired if this was going to be standard with 23.5s from now on.

Had more to do with the fact that the guy seems to think that people do not make mistakes. Darin was responding to the fact that rather than allowing TP to correct the case at NO CHARGE he was not having it and demanded a FULL REFUND.

I e-mailed Darin and Liz about the cancelled orders or what appeared to be cancelled orders. They said that when are preparing orders for that days shipment they verify that the payment is good. If payment has not been authorized they will e-mail the customer to verify they still want the case. If the ellapsed time has been long enough for the authorization code to expire then they will forward a link to the customer to update their billing information so they can proceed with the fullfillment of their order. This way if someone has decided not to wait for their case and moved on they can take that case and match its specs to someone who requested the same case and ship it. That is why every once in a while you hear of someone that ordered later than others recieving a shipping confirmation.
Some people do not see that as being fair, but seems perfectly reasonable to me. If I cancelled my order I certianly would not expect them to throw it in the trash at their expense.

What ever you do Don't Ask Them for a Shipping Update!!

With today's update I've gone from a defender (see previous posts)
to a really pist-off customer.*

An I can't cancel as I'm "pot committed" at this point as I cancelled my dodo case order based on info they gave me about shipping times.*

Skip here is my tale if you care to read.

On 4.15 I sent 1st email update request. Specifically asked if they would meet originally quoted shipping time.

Portenzo: "Judging by your order number, I think it should go out by 4/20,
possibly earlier."

"If you really, really need it sooner (as in business trip, dying
without it, your soul hurts :)...) let me know, and I'll *try to sneak
it on to Darin's or Nicole's priority piles."

4.18
Portenzo: "Put it on the priority list.
Your payment is awaiting verification so please update via this link"

I update via link provided.

4.22
Me: "please confirm payment link thingy worked. Will it ship soon?"
Portenzo: *yes, With any luck, yes. For a 6xx9 number (no dice on the priority pile– too high as it is, Nicole said), probably sometime next week."

Me: "WTF Happened?!?"
Portenzo:
"I know and I understand the frustration. Keep in mind, I'm going off
an update that was given to me– if something changes and I'm suddenly
wrong, I'm frustrated too."

4.27
Potenzo: "By late next week, we should be able to update you solely based on your order number. Until then, please be patient."
"Your case will ship as soon as our creative little hands can make it. Again, thank you for your patience. In general, we will not respond to order status inquiries at this time."

Me: my patience is gone with that email update. Why? *Because I really don't like being mislead. While I am grateful for all communication I have gotten, it has done no good as
none of it has accurate in any way.

Yes I know I can cancel but THEY set the expectation here. I didn't. (that's a big deal with all these orders IMHO)*I asked if they could meet the timeline that THEY set so that I could properly budget my time as I needed a case for a stint at the hospital.
*They said they could so I cancelled my other order before it shipped.*

Venting complete. I hope you all enjoyed the read.
If you want to flame me for being a whiny little bitch go ahead if it'll make you feel better.
(I won't be reading it as I'm done reading this forum
Make the argument that quality takes time...but misleading your customers is inexcusable.*
No matter how good your product is.

Moral of the story...
DON'T EMAIL THEM!!
IT WILL ONLY GET YOUR ORDER DELAYED.

Anyone have any reviews of the magna-grip option? I'm considering getting it but haven't been able to find any reviews of pictures of it.

I'll eventually order a case from them once the shipping promises come within reason. I'm also curious to see the 76. I really feel for everyone who has seemingly been made numerous promises of shipping times.

Morocco case review

Hi folks,

Posting some pics here of my Morocco. I have more and a youtube video on my blog, which I also posted a link to on the Portenzo Facebook page.

In short, it's an awesome case in my opinion.

Had a few small defects. The largest is a splinter near the volume rocker. Not a big deal for me, I'm going to be letting it slide. Your mileage may vary.

Obviously the bigger problem has been the communication (for others) and the 5 weeks it took to get the case for me. Either way, I feel the wait was worth it.

Good luck to all those still waiting!

It works as advertised. Cover opens, iPad wakes up. Cover closes, iPad sleeps. The strength of the magnet is just enough to stay close and so far hasn't opened on it's own. Personally, I don't feel the elastic strap is needed unless you also feel it's necessary for preventing the case from slipping while standing it up in landscape mode.

Just plan ahead if you want their case. Order it and forget it till it shows up at this point.

This is the best advice given here with Darin and company - just get another cheap case and forget you ordered a portenzo. I just came back from a 3 day biz trip using my Octavo and loved it. Lotsa comments.

I don't get up every day frustrated, with a plan to figure out where my "on order portenzo" is..it will get here when it gets here.

I ordered the black portenzo case for iPad 2 last week. I would like to know what is the default texture they are using, since the order page doesn't provide you the option to select between Levant and Morocco, which they have for the original iPad version.

Personally I prefer the Morocoo over the Levant as the texture is more subtle and delicate.:)

I looked at the photos on your site, which are super - great quality.

The quality looks very sub-par to me. I see the splinter, which alone is a 'fail' for me, but the interior picture of the corner on your site (Portenzo-18) looks awful. The 4-fold corner looks like something a preschool child would do, and it looks like there's a big crease in the fabric covering. Is this real?

If my case arrives looking like that, I'll be sending it right back. We are all waiting an eternity for these beautiful cases which are produced 'lovingly and passionately', but if the quality is not up to scratch, then it's just another mediocre ipad case maker with awful customer service.

Doesn't look like it is sitting level in the cracked pic either...

Gorgeous case, nice choice on everything black!

Excellent choice also with teh boxwave <3 and stylus holder, makes me wish I got the stylus holder option with mine.

Add me to the list of people who come back and say that man, it was worth the wait. 7 weeks later mine just got here in the mail and it is incredibly well made. Every time I use an apple product there is an underlying feeling that it was just well made. This case inspires the same feeling!

I know the wait sucks, but I can say that I am glad I waited!
