Oh well...I keep trying to get a response (information) to order a custom case or exotic series but no response for over a month...tried email and Facebook...Going to go with my instincts and just stop trying.

...they don't want my money but I think Team Grove will step up.
 
Hi folks,

I've posted an update on my blog (along with more photos) about the splinter I noticed near the volume rocker on my case's frame. The previous photos made it look more like a crack in the frame, but it was actually easily removed and I really don't notice it anymore.

Seems like a rush sanding job or finish on that frame...sorry to see that but like you said...all that matters is what you "see".

You might want to run a bit of sandpaper on it and possibly seal it. I realize they are slammed, but now the quality is dropping. Unfortunate. The main reason people put up with the poor communication and long wait times was quality, and if it is now sliding...

this seems to go against the "quality takes time" and stopping production to remake a case. With a case leaving in this condition, makes you wonder what the one that they almost shipped look like :eek:

I was considering placing an order when things die down a bit, but if this continues, it looks like it won't be with Portenzo. fan boys feel free to flame away...
 
I put my order in earlier this week... I haven't gotten my iPad yet, so I'm not in a big rush to get it. I'll pick one up in a few weeks though, so I'm hoping the case comes by the end of May, early June.
 
I Got Email with tracking number on 27th but still it hasn't been shipped.
My order number was 9333 i had placed it on 04/06

They've had over 10,000 cases and so far we've seen less than 5 here with defects. Take facebook ones into account and still their failure rate is really quite high. Higher than Apple's! :p

Why does a rear facing camera access hole on your case cost an additional $4.95?

Why isn't that just a standard feature? :confused:
 
After reading all the hateful comments towards folks, just wondering how many of those folks have coexist, and free Tibet bumper stickers. Seems like a rather intolerant bunch here...

My question is, how would you use it? At least the smart cover folds back, you would have to hold any Moleskine type fully open. Seems awkward at best:confused:

someone said they are going out of a storefront fedex type place, if it doesnt start tracking by Tuesday, I would try emailing em, might have got misplaced...

Ugh, it wasn't like that (free camera hole if you wished so) when I ordered a month ago, they are getting greedy it seems.

Before long, they will start charging for interior colors 0.0

One thing I do hope though is for portenzo to come up with a dock compatible with its case (+adjustable viewing angles). I have a solution being used right now with my octavo but it would be interesting to see what they could come up with.
 
I've been following your posts for days, and I'm glad your issue got resolved. Admirable you're not obsessive OCD like the rest of us here. I find it hilarious that you've been enjoying your case and not letting these minor issues bother you and yet everyone here has been only negative about this "terrible craftsmanship" on your case. I wish we could all just be patient and less obsessive and enjoy what we have rather than constantly fretting about minor things that make no usable difference to the product. Good on you man, beautiful case, enjoy it, and don't get into this downward spiral of OCD'ing on the the most minor issues.

mine is nowhere near shipping as I have order no 10xxx.

One thing I do hope though is for portenzo to come up with a dock compatible with its case (+adjustable viewing angles). I have a solution being used right now with my octavo but it would be interesting to see what they could come up with.

never happen...they make books, not docks....design and development costs far outweigh gross profit generated from selling a dock to 10% of their installed customer base...

It would not be hard to have a carpenter shop make one - all you have to do is fabricate an easel with the connector plug sticking up so it can slide down on it. I did easily lt for my iphone4 which has the same problem using an atomic case. Just superglued the plug straight up and down - and yes, straight up and down puts no stress on the plug...but easy to add a back to it if you want...mine is going on 10 months with no problems...

yeah, I knew the chance of that happening is remote. I modified a book stand (the one that is being used by some ministers or priest) and placed a hole below for the dock. Works perfect with the octavio.

Yes you should, at the time of your order, the wait stated was 2-3 most likely, not 4-6 weeks, so contact them and let them know you need a shipping notice ASAP or you shall take your business elsewhere!

I'm working on week 5 right now. This Friday my card was charrged. I ordered on 4/1.
 
Especially since the hole is cut into wood for every case. Why would they charge?

Because drilling the hole isn't the extra work (hence why all are drilled). It's the finishing of the case around that hole that takes time. :rolleyes:

Not every case has it because some people clearly don't want it.
