no way. Apple uses fedex for mostly everything.

Actually the usually use FedEx, but when I ordered the 3Gs I also got a dock, and that came USPS. Technically they shipped it with DHL, but they used their Global Mail service which hands it off to USPS when it gets near to you.

So I just called Apple and was told that I will not get my phone until the 22nd which doesn't make any sense because I have yet to see someone who ordered earlier than me yet people who ordered 4-5 days after me already have a tracking number for delivery on the 19th. And I also got the email about the delivery date error saying I'll get my phone on the 19th but was still told the 22nd by the CSR. Apple must be working backwards or something, I just can't imagine why they wouldn't have better organization on such a big launch.

Exactly what happened to me. Except mine says the 24th. My order time was 6/8/09 at 12:19PM, how about yours? It almost does sound like they are working in reverse. Those of us that ordered very early will be last to get shipping notification. Maybe their system was messed up from the heavy load, and orders on the 8th are delayed, but the 9th or later would be after the 'glitch' so they went right through? Who knows.

All in all it would be one thing if it ships late, and I could live with that. But to have gotten an unsolicited email stating that they want to 'assure' me that I will have it by the 19th takes it to another level. Maybe we will have them on the 19th, and we won't really know until then, but it is annoying none the less.

From reading through this thread it looks like majority of the "not shipped" yet resides on the East Coast.. While majority of the "Prepared for Shipping" reside on West Coast and Central..

I'm not sure how Apple goes about processing orders, whether it's by Last name, zip code, luck of the draw.. etc, etc.

I live on the west coast, southern california to be exact, and mine says "prepared for shipment." I ordered mine at 2:10 june 8th...

Thanks for the support guys. This is a trying time for me and my 2G iPhone. :p

I'm checking the order status page like every 5 minutes...and I have a paper to write and I'm just procrastinating like crazy. Damn Apple...can't wait for my new iPhone tough! haha :D

There may be a perfectly logical explanation why the early orders are not changing status and the later ones have. Apple may very well have staged a significant number of units in the US for shipment for delivery on the 19th. Once that inventory sold through units are then allocated from China. Since all are designed to arrive on the 19th the units with a longer logistical pipe will leave facilities sooner than the units departing from closer warehouses. YMMV but it seems plausible. I ordered on the morning of the 9th and am still showing as not yet shipped/delivers by June 19th.

hmmm maybe you're on to something here. maybe the people who ordered early are getting phones that are already in the U.S. and hence haven't shipped yet.

what's "early?"

I ordered about 5PM 6/9 at an AT&T store. No change.

From memory it kind of seemed like a lot of people who got a backordered notice from ATT were later too. Maybe those are coming from China?

I pre-ordered June 8th at 12:17CST, literally seconds after the store back opened back up.

Originally said "Delivers by June 19th"
Now says "Ships June 19th. Delivers June 24th". No tracking number, nothing.

I'm a little pissed...

There gotta be something messed up in Apple order system. Someone ordered on 8th got the tracking number already.

My order time was 12:30. Hopefully we still get it the 19th. It is pretty annoying not having a deffinant answer.

Mine is in origin scan SHENZHEN, CN. Ordered asap when the site went up. Irony is that I fly out of town Friday @ 7am. So unless it comes early, I have to wait until Sunday night when I return. I told my wife she is not allowed to open the package. :D

But seriously guys, you get it when you get it. It is amazing how impatient people become after having to wait for months for this stupid thing to come out. :p

Mine has been "Prepared for Shipment" since Saturday evening (6/13). Was told they BOTH would be shipped by the end of today by an Apple Rep on the phone. Refreshing the page every 5 minutes. haha

I ordered on June 8 as well, first wasting a lot of time trying to reserve a spot at the Apple Store near me before realizing I could just have it delivered to me!

I ordered the Anti-Glare Film Set with mine which was delivered last week, and while my status in the Apple.com Store still says "Not Yet Shipped," I checked my Chase account and lo & behold, there's a charge from Apple that appeared today for the correct amount, so I'm guessing my status will be changed to shipped sometime in the next 12-24 hours.

Those of you who still show "Not Yet Shipped" might want to check your credit card's online system and see if the charge is pending, that's usually a good indication the product is about to ship...

Here is my 32GB Black ordered on night of keynote shipping to Ohio.

I ordered on the 9th at about 6 pm PT. Card immediately showed the pending charge. Has been that way ever since. Status is still "Not Shipped"

Ordered on the 11th. White 32gb. In Atlanta, GA.

It's said 'prepared for shipment' since Saturday.

No changes as of yet, but my card was just charged...

has anyones debit card not been charged yet? i just checked online and there is no bill from apple. ordered on the 9th...

It's not so much impatience as it is an annoyance. When I'm assured by a company that I will have an item on a certain date, I expect it no later than that date, as of right now it's not looking that way. You can't tell me that wouldn't annoy you a bit, especially when people who ordered days after you are having theirs shipped already.

Thought I would chime in.

I'm in Texas and I ordered one at noon on Thursday (11th) from the Apple website. It changed to "Prepared for Shipment" Saturday night.

I don't really care about getting it early, it still says "Delivers by June 19th" which is all I care about.

If you cancel your order at Apple, and try to place another order your AT&T line will be flagged as not eligible for an upgrade.

This is because AT&T puts a hold on your upgrade. You have to call the Apple Store. From there, they have to reestablish your old order and place a new item on your order. This has to be done by a Tier 2 (or supervisor) CSR.

I cancelled this morning thinking I could quickly place a new order for a 32GB (instead of a 16GB), and had to go through this entire process.

Thanks for this information. I called to Apple wanting to change the color and they said I could just cancel and reorder. Then I kept getting this error and what not and now I am calling Apple to do what you said. Hoping that they do this! :) Thanks again

I think those who are the most impatient are probably those who aren't married. You give up the "i deserve" and "right now" rights when you get hitched (for the most part). I wouldn't be surprised if all those people who are complaining now about their shipment see it show up on the 19th. UPS is notoriously slow in updating it's website. There is a two fold operation here. Apple needs to be notified of the item being shipped from UPS at which time you need to be notified. If there is any delay in that process (shipping from China remember) then you won't have an email or the site won't be updated immediately. It is probably on a batch feed anyway and they are really busy boxing/scanning the phones in China as we speak. I would put money on people that ordered it last Monday to see tracking numbers by tomorrow morning.

lol let's hope so.

Apparently you forget that the 19th is the last shipping day before Father's day. All I want this year is to get my iPhone on time... :p

Still no charge on my card, and no shipping update. And thus the fun continues.
