If Apple calls the 5.5 inch version iPhone Air, might as well call the 4.7, iPhone mini.

I see from the video its 15cm tall what about the width? Would be interesting to see all the sizes, lets say 4s/5s/?6?/?6air?/ipad mini all on one diagram. Has anyone done that?

5.5" or I get the Note 4 (and wait 2 years till Apple finally puts it out).

I know every single day I'm like why can't it come quicker....For us though its like xmas day when we were younger. I love it! So at least we get that xmas build up feeling lol

Lol,you couldn't be more correct! This is my Christmas like when I was a boy. Counting down the days one by one. Funny thing is,when you're younger you are waiting to get free presents. In this case we're waiting for the day to spend money..lol :)

seems strange how apple loved their small screen and even made a crippled 4incher just to be able to hold it in 1 hand and then suddenly they jump from 4>5,5? i mean, isn't 5,5 kinda sorta TOO big for a phone?...

Fingernails

At about the 00:27 second point in the video, the infamous long fingernails appear...this could be legit.

Mini = smaller size
Air = standard size
Pro = bigger size with better performance

Could be. At this stage anyone's guesses as to names are just that: guesses. But "Air" seems light and small, so seemed a good name for the smaller MacBooks, but a bad name for the (compared to a Mini) larger, heavier iPad.

My guess is they'll have: iPhone Air for the 4.7" one, and iPhone Pro for the 5.5" one. And I REALLY hope that the 5.5" is released some time very soon, as I'm due an upgrade and don't want to wait for 2015!!

If i buy the 5.5 iphone, do i need an ipad air? or will the iphone be big enough to view docs, pdfs etc

No it wont replace it, i have an ipad and a note 2 and the note is just a bigger phone that you can do more than an iPhone because of the size but it doesn't replace the ipad for me. I will head back to apple for this phone.

Fanboi: "Wut? 4 inches never existed! Nevah! Or wait... yeah, I remember something like that in the very distant past... like... uh... a year ago!

I also still remember that Steve Jobs once claimed that an iPad smaller than 10 inch is useless. I kinda agreed with him then. I kinda still do. I still don't feel the urge to buy an iPad Mini. Others disagreed with him then. And they still do. And they bought an iPad Mini. Apple fans are not a homogenous mass with a single opinion, but that supposed adjustment of Apple fans' opinions to whatever Apple is producing seems to be based on selective perception, as the Apple haters always look only at those Apple customers who currently agree with Apple.

A lot of people seem excited about a 5.5" "phone", I don't get it, it's too big to easily use as a phone - why not just use an iPad mini (or better still a full-sized iPad) and Skype to make calls? Trump everyone else if size = cool, be ahead of the game and look really smart at the same time... ;)

It all depends on your own preferences. For me, even my old iPhone 4S is big enough for viewing documents, but for creating them, I need my 10 inch iPad. (That's why for me personally, I don't see any need for a 5.5 inch iPhone)

In any case, 5.5 inch is pretty darn big. I think for casual viewing of some PDF every now and then, it is definitely enough for most people. I have e.g. my camera's user manual on my iPhone as PDF, and for looking up some functionality every now and then, it's already sufficient.
