Thank goodness we have rumour sites such as this to allow us to speculate until Apple releases the new product.

I always find it interesting once we get closer to the launch of the iPhone, how much more specific the part leaks become and ultimately we try to make a determination what's legitimate or false weeks before the launch. It gets pretty crazy on this website during that time a year. But it keeps things interesting.

A few years ago, when the 4/4S were still sold, there were videos and articles about Apple and "planned obsolescence" making the rounds over social networks like Facebook. A few people I know referred to these and mentioned the glass back as an example of planned obsolescence, like Apple put it intentionally to make the phone easier to break. (Replacing the back was only $29 though).

As much as I loved the 4/4S design, it is true that it makes the phone more fragile. But apparently in 2017 it's not a concern to people anymore (I guess because Samsung switched to glass backs it's ok now?)

As someone who uses a 7 Plus, if Apple gives the new SE a 1080p screen, I'm going back down in size. I went from a 5S to a 7 Plus, and I miss being able to comfortably one-hand my phone. I do have fairly large hands, and if I really try I can one-hand the Plus with texting, browser navi, etc. But it's a stretch (literally).

If they release an SE bump at the fall launch, I kind hope they'll clean up the naming convention for all of them. iPhone SE, 7S, 7S Plus, 8? Could do something like iPhone Mini, iPhone, iPhone Plus, iPhone Pro.

stronger glass is always welcome. i wish my apple watch sports display was more scratch resistant (had to put up a screen protector after the first few scratches - not microscratches - appeared after the first few weeks), but a watch is more likely to receive scratches than a phone imho.

What is this? Almost looks like a fingerprint

You're not going to start this hypothetical headphone jack argument Theory again? I think it's evident Apple's intentions from the iPhone 7 forward.
I think it's a pertinent question here. The SE had a jack, so does this new phone have one?

Deflection observed. Just stating the obvious. But I understand your dismay with the Jack being deleted. Fortunately you have options.
Dismay. Depression. Hopelessness. All the feels.

:D

Why would it? Do you truly believe Apple will reverse moving forward with the Airpods being their future in wireless technology? That's asinine to even think they would bring it back. And it would show insecurity in their decison to remove it in the first place if they were to bring it back.

What is strengthened ion-x? Some cheap offshore knock off of Corning Gorilla Glass?

Apple and insecurity in decisions. Huh-boy... Let's not, hmm? I'd rather stay friendly. Haha

But, yeah I could see no headphone jack... But this isn't personal, its an exploration of possibilities. Will Apple keep a headphone jack on low-end phone? Probably not if its waterproof.

Exactly. You have current options as it stands. And as stated, the Airpods were a gateway for them to use leverage for one of the reasons to remove the Jack.

People without headphone jacks on their phones are the poor souls who can't plug in the aux in the car, at the party, etc, etc and share songs easily and hassle-free. Removing the headphone jack was the silliest decision ever.

But hey, maybe some people actually like carrying dongles around with them.
