Mine is on its way from Shanghai

Ordered the low-end 15" and will order 4GB RAM from 3rd party. Shipping estimate says I should have it by Monday...it's going to be a loooong weekend!!

Picked mine up yesterday afternoon from Beverly Center Apple Store. It was kind of amusing because I asked for government discount and after verifying, he was saying he's so happy to give the discount because he rarely ever gives anyone discounts.

Got the 15" MBP 2.5GHz CPU, etc. Going to swap out the 250GB HD for WD 320GB and put the 250GB drive into my PS3... :D (I know not that much increase but its still something) Plus it is a nice increase on space for the PS3, from 60GB to 250GB.

My 4GB ram and 320GB HD should be arriving sometime today :)

Brand-new 15" 2.5 Penryn MBP picked up from Apple store (-200 corporate discount)

Haven't even opened the box yet - at work now & will take my time...

My very first :apple: !

I decided to make the switch! After loving Micro*****'s operating systems for years, growing up on them, I think the first comp. I ever had was when I was 8 or 9 and It was the OS before Windows 98' (can't even remember what is was called). I went to the Apple store this morning and purchased a new 2.5ghz 15" MBP. I went through the setup (which was extremely newbie friendly) and am on it right now. Learning it seems easy and I'm loving every second of using it. Vista just doesn't do it for me and Micro***** has been iffy with me lately. Anyway, I know i'll probably be having alot of questions but I know this isn't the place to be asked. Just wanted to say Hello to everyone in the mac world and am happy with my decision. This is the first Apple I have ever even really used besides my Iphone if that counts.

Penryn MBP, 2.4GHz Base Model! LOVE IT! My second mac. I bought a Power Mac G5 2.0GHz back in 2004 and sold it to a friend about a year ago and was waiting to make the move. This forum made me miss my mac. :)

Welcome to the "cult" as some say. Apple makes a great product and as you said very user friendly. Ask all the question you like and someone here will give you a quick responce!:apple:
P.S. Need to change my signature. I bought the 2.6 GHZ/ 200 HD 7200 rpm yesterday myself. Great machine

Can anyone with one of the new MBP's please go to the system profile and post the brand/model of your hard drive.

I am trying to find the exact brand/model of the 250GB and 200GB drives. Thanks!

My first Mac

I just ordered mine yesterday:

2.6GHz
200 GB Hard Drive (7200 RPM)
2 GB ram (will be buying 2 GB more from Canadaram tonight)
Matte Screen

I also bought a keyboard skin, a protective shell, and a new (wired) keyboard. I'm typing on my keyboard right now, and i've got the skin on my iBook keyboard. The protective shell will be here tomorrow, but I've got to wait until end of next week for my MacBook Pro :(

I picked up mine tonight...

2.5ghtz, 250GB, 2GB Ram (which'll soon be upgraded to 4GB)

I got a great deal on my "old" 2.4Ghtz Santa Rosa and I was able to use my corporate discount on this that I couldn't resist doing the upgrade even though it's so subtle.

Got mine today with the free hp printer with rebate. I got the 2.4 15inch base model. If you ask me this is really overkill for just basic needs such as internet and student things but, I love it. This is also my first mac so I have to get used to a couple of things.

Returned my 2.2 SR that i bought on Sat. Told he guy that i had asked someone in store if new ones were coming and he said in april. Manager said that it wasnt right i was given a time frame since people who work there are not allowed to speculate. Said he was sorry i was misled and he exchanged my SR for the new base model. No restocking fee :D.

I just ordered my 17 inch Hi-Res glossy screen MBP, and it gave me a 2-3 week time until it ships. Does it normally take as long as the expected ship time? This is my first mac, so i wasn't sure.

Thank!

MBP 15" base model. $2203 (after tax) at local Apple store after $200 student discount on MBP and $110 discount on Apple Care.:D
+ $96 (after tax) 4GB Crossair RAM at Frys

2.6 15" model
I had an Merom SR MBP but i bought it just a week before the update so I traded it in for the Penryn machine.
I wasn't going to at the beginning but it was too tempting.
