Things I'm really enjoying about my iPhone 4....and I think context is important. I've upgraded from a 3G so 3GS owners may be saying "yawn."
-No reception issues: I'm on this thing 3+ hours per day, mostly voice and sms. I'm on a train 2 hours per day moving. I'm inside of old brick buildings, construction sites/trailers, underground/basements, etc. I travel 1-2 days per week so I'm in and out of my home turf often. After the recent update, my bars dropped from 5 to 3-4 for my home office as a "true" reflection of signal strength. I have mine in a Griffin Reveal bumper/case. I've had 1 dropped call in two months, and I know this because I use the "mark the spot" app religiously, having had a TON of dropped calls in similar places with my 3G. I use a headset and hand-hold both during voice calls....about even.
-Camera/Video: Night and day versus my 3G. I rarely used my 3G's camera as it took terrible pictures. These pics look fantastic by comparison. Its not my Canon 8 and 12MP gear to be sure, but it works fantastic for impromptu snapshots and the videos look great. Wind noise is pretty atrocious, but I've learned to adapt to that. I quit carrying my Flip and now leave my Canon 8MP pocket cam at home.
-Screen: Rivals my iPad, which I had thought was the best screen I'd ever seen. I still prefer the iPad for surfing/reading, but for everything else, the Retina screen just dominates. Bright, crystal clear, no yellowing, no dead pixels. Subjective, but my eyesight isn't what it used to be and I was starting to do that "look under" thing with my glasses and pulling the iPhone closer to my face to see the letters clearly. I don't have to do this with the iPhone 4. It can be read comfortably without needing my reading glasses. Amazing.
-Speed: ZOMGWTFBBQ. There were some games I couldn't even RUN on my 3G. Dungeon Hunter comes to mind (kinda like Diablo) as it took AGES for the screens to transition. These all fly now on here. Now I understand why everyone was so happy about gaming on the 3GS. This sucker is smooth as silk.
-GPS: I don't use my GPS on the iPad, too big and unwieldy for me. So my iPhone has always been my primary GPS device. This one seems far snappier and quicker to acquire my location than my 3G. I use it religiously.
This is my second iPhone 4. I had the sound issue with video's/Facetime with my first one and got a replacement 3 days after launch. Since then....absolutely zero complaints. I'm very happy and its a far superior overall experience than I had with my iPhone 1 (or 2...the Edge only one) and iPhone 3G.
