Annoyingly, it occurs even when all apps are forced shut. I even deleted pedometer++ in case it was doing something with the M8 processor, but no luck.

I may hold on, as it's not using an inordinate amount of battery right now, but if it persists might have to reset settings.. annoying!

force close doesn't close them if background app refresh is on. It just resets them

Looks like you've nailed it.

Only had three apps allowed, twitter, weather and podcasts - just to test I turned background app refresh off entirely, and low and behold - motion calibration is gone.

Turns out the culprit is Twitter - which never really 'refreshes' in the background anyway.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!!

The screen has like froze up on me randomly twice so far, had to turn screen off then back on for it to respond again, overall I havent really ran into any glitched, some graphical glitches and quirks but thats about it

Watch when apps update. Some turn it back on :-0 *big thumbs down*

iOS 8 Contacts in Mail

When I type an initial to select a contact I get all the contacts starting with that letter plus all the others that have the same letter in their email address or whatever. Is this happening for anyone else?

On my iPad2 (iOS8) when using Safari and typing in a MacRumors forum reply, infrequently I get a freeze, where everything stops. Never saw this in previous iOSs. The times I've tried to wait it out, is more than a minute or two, where I lose patience. So it's possible a longer wait would result it unfreezing by itself. I correct it by switching to another app and then back to Safari. Sometimes my half finished reply is still there! :p

Anyone else? Any clues?

Can someone help please.
When I type in the Safari address bar, it doesn't give suggested sites at all.
I have this toggled on in settings.

Am I missing something?

I'm not sure if this is a bug. On one device, *if iCloud is on* we can't see any purchases in the app store. There is just a message that the account is set up to use family sharing with a different iTunes account, even though it is the same account. If we turn iCloud off, it works fine.

The update to iOS8 removed all playlists from my music app. All of my music is there, but no playlists. iTunes Match automatically turned itself on as well, but I turned it back off as I never used it on my device (only my kids iPad and the AppleTV's).

When I try syncing with iTunes the playlists still do not come back, even though they are all still checked off.

So I tried removing all music via iTunes and restarting my iPhone and resyncing. Now iTunes says I am 12GB's over capacity. Before the iOS8 update I had 9GB's free. Somehow after updating to iOS8 my iPhone went from having 9GB's free to needing 12 extra GB's to store the same music (nothing else has changed). That's a 21GB difference for everything being the same except for iOS8 vs iOS7. So I cannot sync the same music now.

So I removed a bunch of music and got it to where I have 4GB's left of space. After syncing, the music is there but it fluctuates b/t showing 4GB's of space left or 600MB's left depending on when I plug in my iPhone to the Mac.

Seems like there is a major issue here. I would just wipe the entire iPhone and start from scratch but I'll just live with it until I get a 6+ and start anew there.

The countdown timer just displays 00:00 on the lock screen when the system time is displaying time in AM/PM format. It's really annoying as it's been like that since iOS 7 launched and it means I have to unlock the device just to check how much of my lunch break remains. It's disappointing they still haven't fixed it...

Something is definitely wrong with iMessages for me. I'm gettibg send errors, messages not being sent, even as texts. When they come in, they're not showing the sender. This is only happening on my iPhone (both 5 and 6) but not my iPad.

iP6:
Spotlight Search bugs out sometimes
Status bar in Camera sometimes appears
Siri voice cuts out

iPad 3: A lot of the same issues as OS7, but 5 finger swipes don't work half the time now.

We know keyboard shortcuts don't work in the 3rd party keyboards. But when I use the shortcuts in Safari, it's really strange: on the final letter, it freezes in midair with the exposed letter up and I need to kill the app. (This is with Swype running.) It wouldn't be so bad if they just didn't work!

I'm not sure if this is a bug. Spotlight not only blurs the home screen, but also gets black and white. Is that supposed to happen?

I'm having problems attaching a screenshot, so I hope you people will get this without. :)

Ibooks wants to connect to the internet every time it is opened or even just made the active app. It nags about mobile data (cellular data, as opposed to wifi) being switched off, as if Apple does not want to let me read books offline. Seriously annoying.

On iPhone 6, the status bar on the lock screen seems to be zoomed in. After unlocking the phone it goes back to normal.

Getting this too - gonna do a restore and see if that fixes it, might be because I'm using an old restore.

Been like this since iOS 7 so that it's easier to see the information there at a glance essentially.

I've seen people bring it up here and there before but it always works fine for me. Odd.

A glitch of some sort some have come across. Try restating the phone.
