FaceTime not rotating on iPhone while air playing to Apple TV

On IPhone only (seems ok on iPad) we can no longer do videoconferencing correctly while mirroring to Apple TV. Rotating to side inddeed goes into portrait mode but it keeps vertica display so everyone is on the side!
(Yes Apple TV has been updated)

(Funnily enough, now Skype videoconferencing via AirPlay now works fine when in 7.0 it had been lost. )

1. Wifi sync is unreliable at best, broken most of the time.
2. I have an album that refuses to sort properly in the Music app.
3. On my iPhone, two genres are listed twice in the Music app.
4. The new Photos app is a huge step back. There's no way to just look at your pictures in a grid.
5. Battery drain is suspiciously high, even when the device isn't in use and all of the culprits (background app refresh, AirDrop, etc) are turned off.
6. If a playlist is in a folder, you cannot edit it (playlists in the root are editable just fine).
7. Music syncing in general is a disaster. Songs not moving over, huge sections of music missing from the Music app and reported as "Other" in iTunes, etc.
8. Can't turn off "Share My Location" on my iPad; it gives a server error every time.
9. Contacts not syncing over iCloud.

That's all I have off the top of my head. The iPhone 6 is a beautiful device, but holy crap is iOS 8 a steaming pile.

Music. Tap on a certain artist, a list of another album songs shows, but plays the correct artist/song I initially tapped on. :apple:

Post iOS 8.0 bugs here

They made a big deal about the new revamped App Store related to this update did they not?

And, talking of Twitter which is horrendous on iOS 8, black screen when tapping DMs and not ever notifying. And loading awful, You'd think that after all this time of it being like that, Apple would put App Store reviews back in date order??? It makes NO sense whatsoever to anyone why they are still jumbled up on iPhone!? 21st, then 19th, then 21st again then 20th?? Huh!? Why?

End this madness

At least move it off center a tad. Geesh.

The giant volume hud. I dont need such a huge confirmation while watching videos that I turned up/down the volume.

ahh okay. yeah i agree. i thought you were talking about slight off-center of the icon or something.

iPhone 5S

Haven't seen this mentioned yet - maybe it's just me??

Flashlight seems to only turn on randomly whenever it wants. Sometimes I tap on the flashlight icon and nothing... Other times it comes on no problem.

Did a full restore just to be safe and still continues.

When answering a call by turning on a bluetooth headset, the icon on the phone shows bluetooth while the audio remains on the phone and not the headset.

I am having this exact same problem but with my cars bluetooth. Thought it was my car and had that looked at but overall it looks like it is the phone.

I haven't encountered anything major so far.

But, Siri does have a rather strange bug that I posted last week. I asked for directions to "Cupertino City Hall" and Siri kept bumping me over to PHILADELPHIA City Hall. Tried it with Los Angeles City Hall, and others. Every "city hall" directions inquiry resulted in directions to Philadelphia. Weird.

Major problem connecting to car BT both a new Audi and a new Porsche. Finally got iPhone 6 to connect but now it disconnects after 2 rings. Worked for 1 day after I did a hard reset of the phone and then the next day wouldn't connect again. IPhone 5s worked fine in both cars. Don't know if it's an ios 8 orc iPhone 6 problem.

iOS 8 reminds me of the time i spent with Android

So many little bugs littered throughout the OS

The bugs with the 3rd party keyboards are ridiculous

On my iPhone 6 plus in landscape mode Safari if I scroll up on a website I can tap on anything until I scroll down a bit.

Anyone else get this?

One so far:

Entire screen shift to the bottom, leaving the top portion of the screen black and bottom half of the screen with display (calendar/iMessage/mail etc)

Earlier today, my iPhone 5 felt a little warm so I reset all settings. I then entered the pertinent information again and didn't think anything of it until this evening, when I tried to do a mail handoff between the iPhone and the iPad Air. After several attempts with no success, I looked at the ipad and phone and noticed that they weren't connecting via bluetooth as they had done without any problems before. I also noticed that the option to forget device was greyed out on both devices, thus preventing them from connecting. I even tried setting up as new devices with clean installs, and same problem.

In looking online, i noticed a few people had this same problem during the beta builds. I put iOS 7 on both devices and in the middle of iOS 8 update. Hopefully, this will solve the bug that iOS 8 introduced earlier. Pain in the butt, as I had not had a problem with the devices connecting before.

Bugs I've noticed so far:

  • Searching a PDF that's being viewed in Safari is completely broken (on both iPhone and iPad, always returns no results)
  • Sending your current location in Messages sometimes results in the location map being added to the conversation twice, with the first location map never being able to obtain the location and therefore never being able to complete sending (killing the Messages app fixes it)
  • Music app can show the wrong album information if there's another album with the same name but by a different artist
  • Folders on the home screen are sometimes a solid white panel but refresh after a few seconds
  • Multitasking gestures occasionally stop working on iPad (all models) - can be fixed by toggling gestures off/on (or sometimes by opening the Notification Center)
  • Sites added to the home screen may have no icon and may fail to update - can usually be fixed by a full restart
  • With the default keyboard on iPad, dragging the keyboard up to split it results in the background of the keyboard being incorrectly offset by the same height as the predictive text bar, leaving a gap in the background at the bottom of the keyboard
  • With the Bookmarks panel open in Safari on iPad in portrait, rotating to landscape keeps the panel open, but rotating back closes the panel. Could be by design, but it's also possible to mess up the layout when rotating with the Bookmarks panel open, resulting in the panel obscuring the Favorites in landscape (like in portrait, instead of them being arranged to the right of the panel like they should be in landscape).

And of course, performance on the 3rd gen iPad is abysmal. At first I thought it wasn't too bad, but the more I use it the worse it feels (especially jumping in and out of Safari). It reminds me very much of the bad performance of iOS 7.0 on this device, which was later fixed with iOS 7.1. I do see that they now have blurring behind the keyboard on the 3rd gen iPad, something which was disabled on iOS 7.x.

Getting a audio message in messages. Raise to speak works. Then get another one hours later. Raise to speak plays the earlier one first. Then the new one.

Forward last first back buttons for topic on this forum don't show. Probably a forum thing not iphone but mention it anyway.

And slow wifi again this morning.

New (on iP6)-
-Even with Raise to Listen off, audio messages have a huge lag.
-Terrible battery life (just terrible)....
-Sometimes can't access Camera or CC from lock screen (seems to be a common issue)
-NO BOLD KEYBOARD even with bold text enabled

My friend abroad expereinced slow playing videos that I filmed and sent via iMessage. Taking seconds to start playing. Only short under 30sec videos that said delivered. Usually they are fine.
