Landscape mode not working?

Probably mentioned, but why is the iPhone 6 not going into landscape mode?
(no, I do not have the lock on to avoid)
Have to restart for it to work again, happened on my 5s as well. That truly is a pain.

  • Phone does not always rotate properly between landscape and portrait
  • Keyboard sometimes does not appear in mail app or facebook. Using apple keyboard. All I get is a blank space where the keyboard should be
  • Apps Lockup all the time (I am able to close them)
  • Only connecting at 4G when it should be LTE
  • Unresponsive touch in landscape mode
  • On the email signature screen, if you are typing/creating your email signature and rotate the phone between landscape and portrait mode, all text written is lost.
  • Sometimes the usable part of the screen (facebook, youtube, email, home screen) will extend up and behind the status bar at the very top of the screen (behind the clock/battery indicator/signal strength)
  • This isn't a "bug", but I think the "one handed mode" on the Plus should bring the entire screen down and to the right, so everything can be easily be reached with thumb, including the keyboard, and not just the top half.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe this would be YouTube's fault, not iOS.
Make sure display zoom is disabled in settings.

Plus, notifications are not even coming through at all today.

When I go into Twitter, there's DMs, Gmail, 3 emails. Only know because I went into the actual app. Previously I'd get notifications, so it would seem that not being able to use the 'interactive notifications' is the least of my problems.

I think this iOS 8 stinks. I've never had so many problems with any previous updates. Gutted I updated now
Something strange is going on there as most don't have these issues. You can try a bran new install. Alternatively you should still be able to go back to the latest version of iOS 7 for the moment.

When messages are delivered or read the screen doesn't auto scroll up and leaves half of the word below the line. Very annoying!

ip6+ Me too. Sometimes covers more than just half.

Anyone else getting random tri-tone/vibrate alerts with no visible reason? I'm getting a few a day with no info anywhere as to why.

ip 6+ Yep. Sorry, but glad to see it isn't just me. Hapens 3-4 times a day.

Anyone else having issues sending group messages?

ip6+ It was a mess from the beginning on my new phone. I have read through the threads and gone to Apple support and some issues are fixed. BUT - if I send any message in a group it is sent SMS, even though the group is all iphones.

It's supposed to show as below, when you pull down the text notification as in this pic.

Doesn't work at all on 5S. Presume it works on the 6?

ip6+ Nope. The swipe down to respond doesn't work.

On our 2 iPad 4's -- Very jerky. Crashes occasionally. Kindle is really doing some odd things (maybe not updated yet). Both have locked up completely and a hard reboot is necessary - but scary when it locks up again and again.

iOS8 is a mess.

Some photos in Collections don't appear in the date they should be. I KNOW I have the date EXIF in tact so I'm not sure why Photos app is reading some EXIF date data wrong.

Perform A Fresh iOS 8.0 Install

I have been hesitant to perform a "clean" install on my iPad 4 and iPhone 5. First, I never did it before ( coming from iOS 6.n.n ) and second, iOS 7.1.2 was just fine.

Now, after upgrading to iOS 8.0 I struggled around in the last few days, e.g. with WIFI ( could not connect to a network or my personal hotspot ) and a few other issues.

I did a "clean" install on both devices. It's easy, just backup to iTunes and restore from iTunes, in my case. The network connectivity problems are gone.

I did not test briefly which other issues disappeared as well. All I say is that the "clean" install helped in my case and it was well worth the 1 hour I needed for both devices. If it fixes issues it is not worth to deal with them, just perform a "clean" install.

How do I do the new install, back up and restore in iTunes do you mean? And where do I get back to ios7 from, any idea?

Does it ever work for you, I don't see anyone in this thread mentioning the interactive notifications not working so thought I was in the minority. Is it the same thing, you get the notification, it pulls down but nothing happens? It just stays in notifications like it did in ios7?

----------

If I read correctly, you updated. Have you tried a clean install? Mind you might be worth waiting for 8.0.1 to see if that fixes the issues. I did a clean install and have the issues though, but not as much as you do! All my notifications seem to work, just not the quick reply thing always.

clean install as in back up and restore again? I wonder if the 8.0.1 will clear it all up.. My 3G has gone very intermittent now too, never great, but wonder if something has been changed to give me 'E' and 'GPRS' so often now

My keynotes presentations on iCloud didn't get transferred over to iCloud drive and they are all lost.

Swiping down to bring up notification center on an iPad Mini 1st gen tends to cause the device jump into apps running with the microphone in the background (red bar at the top is present, for example in call on Hangouts).

I have updated my iPhone 5 iOS 7.1.2 to 8.0 five days ago. After updated my iPhone I am facing some problems on iOS 8. Such As:
1. Freezzing my phone when someone call to me more than two times and if I don't recieve the call.
2. Auto closing apps like facebook, safari while using my phone.
3. It's writing slow sometime when I type any word.
4. Battery draining so fast. I charged my phone more than 4-5 times to use for a day.

Can anyone suggest me how can I slove the problems?

I noticed this morning that stock symbol lookup feature of the Stocks app is broken. Both the company name and stock symbol I used came back with "no results." Neither was incorrect.

This release is more and more underwhelming by the day. I'm seriously considering just putting my 6 in a drawer until a jailbreak is released and using my jailbroken 5 in the meantime. It's even eligible for the free battery replacement, though I think I'd have to hide the fact that it's jailbroken to do that (anyone have to do that?).

It's a shame there was so much on there, because I'd like to start phone from new again, rather than put everything back on, but.. needs must

You also can restore your phone without custom apps and data, just select "set up as a new phone" in the last step of the process.

A few issues I'm having on my iPhone 6:

Sometimes notification banners get "stuck" at the top of the screen. Have to hit the home button to make them go away.

Occasionally my cell service just drops completely, usually shortly after coming off of airplane mode. It will be fine for a few minutes, full bars with LTE, then it just goes to No Service. (Verizon)

If I open the App Store, and quickly hit the "updates" button, it will bring up the updates screen, then quickly jump back to whatever the last page of the App Store I was looking at last time it was open.

...yep, tried that already. Its weird because some icons have indeed updated when I click on them, whilst other icons remain blank?! Think the only way to fix this is by re-adding the bookmarks to the homescreen again!

Yeah, I was gonna suggest re-adding the bookmarks to see if that helps.

Well, it didn't work. BUT, I just switched from banners to alerts - did a hard reboot - switched back to banners, and now it works! (just been testing it) Works for now, anyway.

Thanks, but I do need all that bulk unfortunately

Glad it worked for you. Every text I've received today I'm furiously trying to get that to work, but not a chance on any of them.

Post iOS 8.0 bugs here

Another bug. Just searched for a name that was blatantly in 'Messages' rather than have to scroll down to it and it wouldn't come up. Used to work OK.

Plus a YouTube clip I finished watching when going to email after, my lock screen showed the YouTube scroller.

Is anyone else getting this in the Mail app?

The last "Updated" at the bottom of the screen in the Mail app shows as being last updated on Monday, even though I've refreshed my mailbox and received new mail a few seconds ago.

Has been like this for a few days for all my mailboxes.

iOS 8 replaces top Google hit in Safari with top App Store hit!

----------

iOS 8 reminds proficient iPhone users why they are being asked to enter their passcode.

----------

iOS 8 won't allow pictures of bugs to be uploaded to Mac Rumours.

iOS 8 and Facebook app = #

iOS 8.0.1 still didn't fix Safari share menu reordering bug and copy function. Still choppy animations on iPad air.
Edit: still issues with WiFi and Safari... FU Apple and "thanks" for the most advanced operating system
