I am very happy with it so far. The 3gs would be dead after a few hours of using the GPS and then making minimal calls, I would find myself dimming the screen and using it as little as possible by 2pm . I can use the ip4 for the entire day and have not run it below 45% yet.

It's just "okay", BUT NEVER SLEEP!!!

I lose 30+% everytime I fall asleep at night.

This is my second replacement phone. Returning this one today for another. MAYBE I'll get lucky and get one that works.

Okay, so yeah, I'm on my 3rd iPhone 4 now hahaha... I had another bad battery and my temperature alert kept coming on... we'll see if #3 is really lucky.

I run through the first 20% of the battery in the first 4hrs, weather it's used heavily or not. Then it seems to greatly slow down. I'm not exactly sure what's up with that

Mine is worse than my original 2G iphone. I guess I need to start documenting battery life and ask for a replacement.

Mines been fantastic. Noticably better than my 3GS. Now I can leave stuff turned on (wifi, location services) that I would normally have turned off

Your battery life looks great, but unless you tell people what you were doing with the phone and for how long, the results are meaningless. If you were iPodding the whole time, then that would be why you have such large numbers.

Honestly most of it is probably Angry Birds :p... A little bit of youtube... Decent amount of internet... TONS of time with people at work playing with Aging Booth and Fat Booth... and LOTS of pandora. (All for that particular use)

Do you leave 3G on or off?

EPIC Battery Life

I did calibrate my battery in the first couple of days of having the iPhone 4 - which is not something I've had much success with in the past. Ran the battery down to 0, let it sit for 8 hours and then fully recharged it. (The letting it sit for 8 hours was a new step for me - I'd never done that before)

Since then I've had incredible battery life. The use on standby is minimal (3 - 4% overnight) and with moderate use I can go 2 full days without having to worry about charging. My old 3GS was doing good to make it 14 hours on standby. I have 3G and wifi on all the time, screen at about 70%, and minimal push.

My battery life sucks and now on 3rd IP4

3G turned off
brightness 50% + set to auto brightness
bout 2 hrs worth of music
few calls
Push email set to fetch (manual)

I always lose 20% overnight on standby and even lost 20% overnight on Airplane mode.
Seem to get better reception with my previous 3gs :(

I had to plug my phone in at 2% because my boss was calling me, i was on the phone for no longer than a minute, and i took it off charge when the call was up.

Notifications - OFF
Brightness - 50%
Auto Brightness - ON
Mail - Push off
Wi-Fi - OFF
3G - ON

Listened to iPod for about an hour
Facebook off and on all day
Couple of phone calls
ALOTTT of texting (Pretty much non stop)

I am impressed, but I want more out of my battery. So I will let it run to 0% .. leave it off overnight, and charge to 100% in the morning :)

I'm on my second iPhone 4, first one was replaced due to yellowing on the screen. Now my second one seems to have problems holding a charge. It drains over 10% in less than 8 hours of standby. And yesterday with light use, it was at around 65% with only a little over an hour of use browsing the web on 3g. I restored it to no avail. I did notice that when I got the replacement that the battery was dead out of the box, which I found a little strange. Off to the genius bar I go, hopefully third times the charm.

Mine has drained 3% in an hour & half. So i don't think your battery is all that bad. People expect the phone to stay at 100% through light usage.

It means nothing untill you post your stats at 10% or lower

Well I'm going off my first iphone 4's stats, and that thing would only drop 2-3% overnight if that. And I would get much higher usage out of it by the time the battery was at 50%. Example being on my first one I could get around 3 and a half hours of use at about 50%, new one I had 1 hour and about 20 minutes at 60%. All with the same settings, in the same location, and both were doing 3g web browsing and texting.

Edit: I should also mention that my wife's ip4 also gets the same battery life during usage and standby as my first ip4.

Two different situations (sorry for the large images, silly iPhone lol):

I guess this is good for me, and this with:

85% Brightness
3G on
Notifications on
Push mail
Basic Safari browsing plus Facebook and Twitter

I am right now trying another method, with lower brightness, fetching data every 15 minutes, and killing apps, and I don't know, its kinda draining fast, does having Alarm clock kills battery life?

Usage: 1 Hour 24 Minutes
Standby: 12 Hours, 28 Minutes

79% - Very very good, if this stays up - then I've got about 2 1/2 Days of Battery  Which is unthinkable on an iPhone. Wifi/3G always on. Brightness about 40-45%.

About 45 min ipod usage. Plugged in for two minutes to transfer pics

Notifications OFF
Brightness over the 'e'
Push OFF, Check email every hour
