i'm now at 7 hours 1 minute of use with 1 day and 3 hours of standby with 30% battery remaining

I've done 3 complete charge/discharge cycles, and restored as new, and my latest-and-greatest stats are abysmal:

Usage: 59m
Standby: 1 day, 2 hours

Currently at 40%

The issue here is I have NOT used it for 59 minutes. Actually, I haven't used it at all. I pulled it off the charger yesterday, and haven't even unlocked it until right now when I checked the stats. So, where is it getting off saying I've used it for an hour? I do not have Push on, or notifications, or anything like that, and it died before I plugged it in so nothing should have been running.

Does this look like a faulty battery to anyone?

It's unacceptable. I have similarly poor battery life also. I will be exchanging my phone for a new one.

Wifi: ON
Push Mail: ON
Notifications: ON
Location Services: ON
Bluetooth: OFF
Bright: 65-70%

Furthermore I work in an ER where there are dead spots EVERYwhere so my phone is constantly searching for signal throughout the day.

I though my battery life wasn't very good but this looks great compared to many posts on here. I'm satisfied.

Your battery life looks great, but unless you tell people what you were doing with the phone and for how long, the results are meaningless. If you were iPodding the whole time, then that would be why you have such large numbers.

These numbers are meaningless. Always have been. Always will be. If your brightness is high, it changes things HUGELY. If you're playing an intensive game, this changes things hugely. Are you using wifi/bt?

*sigh*

Have to agree. Those of you who are claiming crazy numbers (16 hours of usage???) are not giving us the full story. My guess is a huge part of that number you're showing is iPod music.

Regardless, I think we're all showing nice increases in batter life. :)

So far...

I pushed the limits and was impressed.

Guys does this seem average?

Light surfing (both 3G and wifi)
Approx. 30-40 txt
5 phone calls ( less than 5 minutes each)
Push on 3 accounts
BT off
Location on
Notifications off
Movie searching from Fandango app

You messed up your VB codes. I went to the link. Your battery life looks terrible.

yeah not sure what the deal is with the link or the battery life....

would you think that it is a defective battery or the fact that it needs completely ran down than charged a couple times?

The A4 processor clearly likes to rest. If you frequently use the iPhone 4 then you'll see a marginal improvement. Keep it in standby will see 50% better life.

I am very pleased with my stats.

question for everyone here - are these stats with absolutely no plug ins for a quick charge and always plugging then phone in and leaving it to a full charge? I see to be getting very poor stats compared to you guys, I only plug in when the phone is almost dead, and leave it there till charged fully, no fill ups in between. If you guys are doing the same thing that I am, then mine is going back for sure for a swap. But it sucks because I had no other issues - no reception issues, no yellow screen, no proximity sensor issues - nothing.

Does disabling notifications for apps that would probably never get any in the first place save battery life? For example, if I leave notifications on for Words With Friends but never play it, would my battery life be worse? Also, if i leave my IM account signed on in Meebo or beejive, does this use battery only when I get a message? If I were to never get any IMs my battery life would be minimally or not affected? Push notifications only use battery when a message is sent to the phone, correct? Thanks, I am new to iPhone

Here's my updated stats from earlier. All use was texting, phone calls, browsing, a little gaming, and facebook/twitter. I am highly pleased and impressed.

As soon as Notifications are ON you can expect a 20% decrease in battery life. The smart aspect is that one App using them is the same as a dozen Apps as far as battery life.

Very Impressed

Here is my best usage so far.

Great battery. On Friday I listened to music all morning, played 2 rounds of Plants vs Zombies and then 2 more hours of music in the afternoon. I was about 70-75% when I got home.
