The 3GS needs code for the camera and compass among other things, so the OS is bigger as a result.

I'm just wondering why you need that field cleared. I'm guessing the way it used to be is the wrong way and 3.0 is the correct way. The reason I say this is, the only time you need to clear that search field is when you want to type something else in there. What difference does it make if there's something in that field still?

I see. So when I don't like how they've redesigned something, it was wrong before and now it's fixed. When you don't like the way they've redesigned something, it is a flaw/glitch/error. Do you not see anything inherently wrong with that way of thinking?

Fact is, you have OCD over that function and I have OCD over the graphics at the bottom. Either way, why should you criticize me over having OCD over something different than your OCD?

OCD? Do you even know the definition of that disorder? I don't like the way that Apple/Google changed the way one of their apps works. I complain about it. That is not OCD. I like my desktop organized, my car clean, and my shirts neatly folded. Does that mean I have OCD? (Psstt.... the answer is 'no') Stop being so liberal with that term.

I like the field clear because I like the field clear. It should be fresh and ready to go when I want to use it. Do I stress over it? No. Do I mention it in thread after thread after thread? No. Actually, this is the first time I've even brought it up.

I was pointing out a UI change that I find makes my experience with that app less user-friendly. I find it to be less-efficient.
You pointed out that they shifted a button over by one column of pixels, which is virtually impossible to notice, and which does not affect the functionality of the phone at all.
Don't equate the two.

I think you're just mad that you didn't notice it first.

(AGAIN... no MMS or Tethering hacks) I have restored, 2 times. turned it on and off a few times... um... Looking for another idea.. Anyone have any suggestions?

You realize that you're writing this to a person that called another poster a liar because he related a different experience with os 3.0 vs 2.2.1. TheSpaz clearly believes that he is the center of the universe and that he is the definitive voice on what is and what is not fact.

Oh.. and then he posted a video of him skateboarding around. Surely - Surely you're smart enough to put the pieces together. Yeah I said it.

He's obsessed with clearing a search field without bringing up the keyboard.
I'm obsessed with graphics

Neither of them are more important issues.

I just didn't understand why he needed that field cleared always. I was just trying to wrap my head around it.

*sigh*

Please stop comparing me to you. I never said that I was obsessed with anything. I am not obsessed with the change to the Maps app. I am merely pointing out a UI change that I feel is for the worse. My day goes on regardless of the change. I won't start a whole new thread that will be completely dedicated to it either.

Seriously, stop comparing me to you. Seriously.

And is there a reason that you decided to skip over my last comment and only respond to samcraig? Is it to perhaps allow yourself to continue to make this strange comparison between two completely different issues (well, one of them is closer to an issue than the other....)?

Why do you need to understand? Accept it and move on. I don't think Surely is trying to wrap his head around your issues. Again you show how egocentric you are.

I don't believe TheSpaz to truly be obsessed with anything. I believe him to be a troll.

That is all.

If you restored as a "new" iPhone you will need to set the password for VVM to work.

I really feel that this can't be said enough.

As far as the patch, I don't understand why everyone thinks this update does anything aside from fixing the SMS vulnerability.

because his "OCD" can be rationalized with normal human thought

sorry, I'm a little late to the party

Better late than never. Want a beer?

I think I've come to the same conclusion as others in this thread..... TheSpaz is merely a troll. Maybe he didn't start off as one, but he's become one.
