I think I've come to the same conclusion as others in this thread..... TheSpaz is merely a troll. Maybe he didn't start off as one, but he's become one.

People, People, the man, or woman, has choosen their name well. Give them a break. (please hone in only on the words in bold.):D

spaz: definition

spaz (spaz)

noun
Slang someone regarded with contempt as being clumsy, awkward, stupid, odd, etc.

I'm just wondering why you need that field cleared. I'm guessing the way it used to be is the wrong way and 3.0 is the correct way. The reason I say this is, the only time you need to clear that search field is when you want to type something else in there. What difference does it make if there's something in that field still?

You have to admit he's right here. Why would you need to clear the field if you aren't going to type something new in? Am I missing something?

3.0.1 has messed up my safari. It now opens webpages so everything on the sides is displayed, meaning that I can only scroll up and down and everything looks tiiiiiny (totally unreadable). And I cant zoom...the touchscreen just doesn't respond to my pinching..what to do? Here is an example of how macrumours looks like:

3.0.1 has my 3G running much, much faster now. In fact, it's almost like a new phone. I have one of those memory clearing apps and before 3.0.1, I would have about 3-4 MB of RAM free at any given time. Now, I have between 25 and 30 free. I know it's probably just the restore, but does Mobile OS really deteriorate that fast?

Same here, I noticed this last night after updating. When I opened MemoryInfo, I usually had between 2 and 12mb free (it was higher on my old 3G, before Apple replaced it though). Now, after 3.0.1, I rarely have below 15mb free. It does seem a little zippier too, but that may just be in my head merely because of the power of suggestion, and other people here have reported the same.

You know, it occurred to me that Apple never really lists all the things they fix in an update. Why would they start now? They said it was for the SMS fix because it was in the news, but who knows? They could have fixed 50 other things while they were at it and not tell us. It wouldn't be the first time.... :D

Bad news today: my GPS on my 3G doesn't work after 3.0.1 update.
Well, it worked a few hours after reset locations alerts and reboots, but failed again after turned off. I restored (still on 3.0.1) and no GPS.
Seems a known issue at Apple forums:http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2045075&start=0&tstart=0

Anyone else?

I think it's ironic that 3.0.1 was supposed to provide a patch for an SMS vulnerability that is yet to happen, but all it's done is mess up many people's iPhones in some way or another.

Well my phone is stuck in recovery mode after I upgraded and I've tried everything to get it out!

Going into the Apple Store tomorrow so they can look at it.

Has email changed sligtly

Im sure i didnt see this before the 3.0.1 but i might be wrong...

I have 3 line view in my email and im now seeing, on the first line of the body under the From field a light grey box with the word 'To' in white within it - then the title of the message...

Im sure I havent seen this before, and I dont think i've changed anything... I see it in all my email accounts too.

Cheers

Everytime I open up MemoryInfo, free memory always between 24MB to 30MB aswel. Well im glad because the sluggishness was starting to get annoying

:apple: KrayzieKray :apple:

i dont check my memory usage, i just reboot my phone every few days or so, but i too have noticed that 3.0.1 has improved general performance. feels more like it did before 3.0. smoother flicking between pages, quicker opening mail and messages etc. just doesnt feel sluggish like 3.0 did.

Can we have one single thread dealing with a change in the iPhone software without a visit by Spaz nagging on about this almost impossible to notice graphical bug being fixed?

Seriously Spaz, ditch your iPhone, get a Jitterbug and then go get some help for these problems you have.

This was already there with 3.0.

I believe I found out why my 3.0.1 is working so much better. It's not actually 3.0.1, but is due to closing the last window in Safari. Without closing the final window, I have about 3 MB free. After closing the final window, I get about 30 MB free. Jeez, closing the final Safari window is actually better than any memory cleaning app.
