Today at a local thrift shop, I found a 512 MB PC2700 stick of ram! I replaced the 128 MB stick that was in my MDD 1.25 GHz, and now I've got 1.25 of RAM in it! :D

This was recently posted in a different thread, but I'll post it here also as it's my most used PPC Mac these days.

And, just for fun

I did not know that Classilla worked with MacRumors! I thought when they upgraded to the new forum software that it stopped working!

Yeah, after constantly using one theme or another on my Macs, I've started using iLeopard... It looks very similar to normal Leopard.

Generally, I run themeless and just admire how Apple designed it...

The key is to go to forums.macrumors.com and not to the main site.

That's what we all had to do to try and find the oldest computer the other day. So far I'm winning with the 9600, but I THINK I can make a 7100 work(that's going to be painful).

Tried using the forum on my Clamshell with Panther and Classilla. I get an error about not being able to connect because of encryption (I can give the exact message per request). I am going to forums.macrumors.com directly as you said.

Watch out, my PM 8500 is coming to de-throne you :D

I know the oldest I can possibly do is the Performa 6360 since it has Ethernet (I think...). If it doesn't have Ethernet, the oldest I can do is the PM 7300

You have to admit that while it may be boring and uniform, stock OS X is quite beautiful to look at.

I truly have never used OS 9 aside from booting up a old Mac that had it installed and promptly installing OS X. It makes me kind of want to try Sheepshaver to give it a shot as I do not have a Mac that can natively run OS 9 now.

QEMU, while more difficult to setup, runs a whole lot better than Sheepshaver as you can control just about every aspect of the VM, including CPU, screen resolution, RAM, networking, etc.

Sorry, can't do that.

One of the biggest criticisms I have of Panther is that it's mind-numbingly boring to look at and work in. I'll admit that Leopard/Snow Leopard made things a bit more elegant (Tiger was somewhat more modern looking) but there is a reason I have a black theme applied to my Macs.

We won't speak of the atrocity that is Lion and above.

I may give that a shot since I have yet to get Sheepshaver to work on any Mac running 10.7 and above.

What is your thoughts on Yosemite and up?
