Well, it's not an "About This Mac"... But it is a PowerPC...

Edit: And yes, Windows NT 4.0 can connect to a current-generation Time Capsule! It won't connect to an El Capitan SMB server, nor will an El Capitan system connect to NT 4.0's SMB server, so the Time Capsule is my "go between."
[doublepost=1456907940][/doublepost]And for sheer curiosity, I'm typing this on the ThinkPad. No modern browser exists for Windows NT 4.0, especially on PowerPC. The newest "native" browser is Internet Explorer 3.01! That's too old to do anything with, so I'm using the 16-bit x86 (aka: "Windows 3.1 version") Internet Explorer 5. But 16 MB of memory is rather low, so I had to turn off showing pictures - for this thread, it caused massive thrash on the hard drive (virtual memory,) followed by a "running out of virtual memory" message.

Some Mac OS versions are so unfinished/buggy that About This Mac isn't even available...anyone remember this? :)

Another less-common one - you won't find an older PowerPC Mac OS outside of Apple than this - note the enabler and extension adding PowerPC support, indicating there probably isn't a lot of native PPC code in this:

I like the 7.1.2 boot screen which I think only existed in this version, it's the same as the classic 7.0/7.1 boot screen on the pre-PPC systems but with the addition of the "Power" :D

Very nice! I was going to dig out my 7100/66 that's running 7.1.2, but it's buried in the back of a closet, not easily reachable at the moment. Glad someone did. (And I recall reading that the Mac OS didn't get significant PowerPC code until Mac OS 8; but that even Mac OS 9.2.2 still contains quite a bit of 68k code that is emulated on PPCs.)

Here's the Yosemite Kaleidoscope scheme that a few have asked me for. I originally linked it in an edited older post but most missed it. There are ten different copies of the scheme in the archive, but I think that they're all the same. The other archive is my converted San Francisco font for OS 9. I used Appearance Hopper to replace the system fonts with these. The bold fonts seem to work better, 10 point for small, 12 for large.

Since I can't post SIT files here, I upped them to my server.

I have a couple of 7100s, but none are running 7.1-I think all are at OS 8 or above. Come to think of it, I only have a Powerbook running System 7.5 despite the fact that I have several PPC computers capable of running it(along with a bunch of 68Ks running system 7 or system 7.5). As a side note, I will fight to the death over the fact that System 7.5 is not the same OS as system 7, and that 8.5.x is not the same as OS 8 :) . I'm running 8.6 on my Kanga(since I think OS 9 is a bit "heavy" even with the RAM maxed at 160mb), and a couple of other G3 era Macs are running one partition with their original OS. I'd like to find 7.1 for my 7100 and 7.5.x for my 8500, 8600, and 9600.

BTW, as far as 68K emulation in OS 9-I have a 667mhz Digital Audio G4(not a super common computer in and of itself) that is running Panther and lacks OS 9 drivers on the disk drive(so it won't boot into OS 9). The computer(along with several others I have) came with Adobe Illustrator 5.5 installed, which is 100% a 68K program dating to the early '90s. It runs absolutely fine in "classic" mode through Panther. This means it is using the 68K emulator inside the OS 9 virtual machine :) .

It's interesting to me to think about that the last high end PPC Macs(the G5 Quad and the like) could-at the time of shipping-run every single Macintosh program ever produced provided that you could get it on the computer(which would require a bit of assistance, but could be done). Of course. Intel Macs never could even run "classic" programs and the ability to run OS X PPC programs went away in 2011 with Lion. Leopard also nixed classic mode for PPC Macs, but that's another story.

When I open the zip the files are all just text documents unless I am missing something ?

The first zip is for use with Kaleidoscope under OS 8 and 9 and should be opened with Stuffit Expander within those operating systems. The second is the San Francisco font converted to font suitcase format, also for use under OS 8 and 9.

Thanks, but I opened it with StuffIt on an 9.2.2 system and only got text

Guys, I sneaked into Apple HQ and found out they made a version of Sierra for PowerPC. I installed it today, here is a screenshot of About This Mac

(Yes, I give my Macs names. This one is Keaton.)
Did you write that About This Mac yourself? @gavinstubbs09 is working on incorporating the newer ATM window into the Sierra theme pack (the one i posted above was done by another forum user). Several people are requesting the Graphics line in the ATM window, so maybe you could give us a hand?

Also, Keaton as in @128keaton or just a coincidence?
