But you waived your iPhone over an NFC reader at the pump, so why couldn't you initiate it without going inside? Was it because you wanted just $20 in gas rather than paying upfront and topping off?
I went inside because this station didn't have NFC at the pump. I also only wanted $20 instead of filling all the way up.

Tried it at 7-11 today, since they have all these great NFC readers. Apple Pay was declined.

Had to busy out the card, type in the PIN, etc. Made the whole transaction overall way too long.

Stopped by McDonald's today and bought small fries and a strawberry sunday just to try Apple Pay. I didn't even have to unlock my phone! The screen of the phone displaying my card turned on when I got the phone about an inch from the NFC reader. At that point all I had to do was place my thumb on the home button for about 2 seconds and got confirmation that the payment went through. Pretty cool "wow" moment! A few seconds later a receipt came up on the phone.

My only wish is that the receipt was more detailed, with line items. It only showed me the McDonald's location, the total and how long ago the purchase was made. Is there a way to see more detailed information on the phone?

You can't as the register doesn't push any of that to your phone, you still get a paper receipt as normal that has the regular detailed information. From here just take a picture of it for record.

I went out with my 6+ Today.

Went to my local convenience store, they have NFC, didn't use apple pay.

Went to the Post office, they have NFC, didn't use apple pay.

Travelled on public transport, they have NFC, didn't use apple pay.

Went to a nice restaurant for lunch, they have NFC, didn't use apple pay.

Went to several other stores, all with NFC, didn't use apple pay.

At all these places, more than 15 purchases, I could have used apple pay but didn't.

Sometimes it really sucks living in Europe.

I spent the day at Disney.... Looking longingly at those Mickey pin pads and wishing my phone would activate them.

Hurry up Disney, I want to use my silicon case in the parks not the icky spigen CS I break out for the day.

I did use it at the expensive McDs for drinks. That was when I discovered it worked in portrait not landscape.

I successfully was able to use it once in three weeks. An inauspicious start to a new payment method. I was finally able to buy a bagel and orange juice at Panera Bread (local bakery chain that accepts apple pay). I tried numerous times these past few weeks, but each time the iPhone didn't like my thumb print. I finally redid that on the iPhone and now apple pay seems to work.

Used Apple Pay at a Nike store this past weekend. Everything worked, but I was still prompted for PIN entry on the terminal I'd assume because it was a WF Platinum Debit card.

Cashier still thought I was badass for paying with my iPhone.

I have a Wells Fargo Platinum debit too.. You know how on Apple's website it shows that when you make a transaction, and then you get a push notification where you bought something, and how much you payed for it? It doesn't work for me. Does it work for you?

My AMEX with Apple pay shows transaction amount. I think only debit cards with Apple pay don't show the amount.

That only works for credit, not debit cards.

Last time I went to McDonald's, on my BofA card it did show the amount and where (McDonald's in my town) I purchased my food.

Went to Walgreens, worked just fine.

Will try again at Subway and have them use credit and see if it will work there.

Now time to fuel up and head home. I headed over to the Chevron, I could have paid at the pump but I went inside and just asked for $20 in gas. Once again I held my phone up to the PayPass reader and all was well that ended well.
So instead of swiping your card at the pump, you went inside the store and waited in line just to use Apple Pay?

Long day at work. Stopped at the Subway on the way home. The two girls there had never seen anyone use it. They got all giddy. Then one asked if it works with a Galaxy 5.

Not to worry as many of these people will go broke soon and get the Apple Pay DECLINE!

Some are even trying to impress the gas staion cashier!

That is not on my bucket list!

No, but my gas station cashier is on mine. You need to switch stations.

BTDT... Let's go, Mouse!

Why not? Arizona was full of those stations with skimmers attached.

Some people want to actually fill up there cars and don't want to go in and pay cause it's a major waste of time. I haven't been inside of a gas station in last 10 years ;) and doubt I ever use apple pay at one unless I can use it to pay at the pump

It will be nice when ApplePay integrates with Healthkit. ApplePay for your Big Mac combo, get your $7 receipt on the phone and then have the HealthKit graph start oozing grease.

Same here, I only go inside if I'm grabbing a drink (or recycling a previous drink). I'm definitely not going to go inside just to use ApplePay. Not to mention that'd be a bit problematic at Costco... :D

My business card had been breached most likely at Home Depot, and I had a $2000 charge on the card (at least the thief made the charge at Lowe's instead of HD ;)). I used the replacement card at exactly one place: Staples. And now they are breached. I really am going out of my way to avoid swiping cards from now on. I actually ordered a new BOA credit card so I could use Apply Pay.

After setting it up, I successfully used it at WalGreens, Home Depot (yes), Fresh Market and Subway. No issues and very convenient. I am switching from CVS to WalGreens since I see no reason to stick with CVS.

For paying at the gas pump, I'm using the Exxon Speedpass which I've had for years tied to a virtual card number from BOA. That is actually even quicker than Apple Pay, although not as secure. I highly recommend it and it is free.
