Made my first purchase at Winn Dixie today... Bye bye, Publix.
Where I live the difference in Publix and Winn Dixie too great and even Apple Pay does not tempt me.
Oh wait . . . . I don't use Apple Pay

Anyone having issues with Apple Pay where it keeps saying hold the phone near terminal? My Damn phone is touching it and still won't work
Was disappointed with BP today when I wanted to fill up with gas. They removed the pay inside button on their pumps, instead you have to go inside, pay for a certain amount, and then go back outside and pump the gas. Apple Pay works fine if you tell them how many gallons or how much you wish to spend. However, I wanted to fill up the tank. Wasn't sure the exact gallons or dollar amount, so had to settle and guessed low.

I only have that problem if my phone is not perfectly in portrait position. The slightest turn and it won't work.
just went to McDonald's at Walmart and the NFC wouldn't pull up Apple Pay. Got annoyed and just pulled out my card.
Is this frequent at the Walmart McDonalds?

Walmart doesn't support Apple Pay. So none of its inside stores like McDs do.
If your specific Walmart store doesn't support Apple Pay, it won't work with McDonald's within Walmart.
Umm yes it does. Why so much misinformation?
The McDonalds inside of Walmart is not owned or run by Walmart.
----------
McDonalds is a separate entity from Walmart and many McDonalds have working inside of Walmart even though the Walmart itself still has the old grey terminals.
That's sometimes but not always true. As McDonald's are franchised they may elect to use the same terminals as Walmart.
I'd never rely on things being consistent with stores within a store, including McDonald's in airports and Starbucks within Target and some universities.
I finally got to use Apple Pay. At McDonald's, worked flawlessly and quick. And at Macy's, the cashier was impressed.
But I noticed Apple Pay creates a new credit card number looking at the last 4 digits on my receipts
220000 locations is a small percentage of the millions of store locations in the U.S. Each day more places get added. Be patient ApplePay has legs.
That's the point, and a dynamic CVV value so if the store gets hacked, you can delete and re add your card, and you're safe from the hacks.
My bank doesn't work with Apple pay yet so I haven't been able to try it yet.

.. and to make it even better the Device Account Number apparently is random; i.e. there's no mathematical or cryptographic relationship to your real card number, thus preventing a crook from ever "working backwards" to get the card number.
Right. That's the Device Account Number. It doesn't change (unless you delete/re-add).if you look at the last 4 digits of DAN on all the receipts using Apple Pay, they don't change with the same card.
I would never buy electronics at Best Buy again after having numerous issues with their staff, and nothing to do with Apple Pay. Not having Apple Pay at BB is just icing on the cake and the cherry on top reason of why I don't like Best Buy.Over the holiday weekend I bought two items at BB: a USB Wi-Fi and the MacBook Pro.
When I bought the first item I asked him can I pay with my phone? He said no the system is broken. I told him please be honest and tell me that it was turned off.
When I bought the MacBook Pro the salesperson was honest they indeed turned it off. He told me that they are under contract with CurrentC and when that expires the company might turn it on. I really liked his honesty and knowledge.
