Some pics, not that great, but hey there pics ;) Specs in sig.

That looks a really nice setup :) - very modern. You might however want to move the subwoofer to the other side of the desk unless you know it is very well shielded as magnetic fields are not kind to hard disks. I know when I got my Logitech Z5500 speakers for my G5 there was a big warning sticker on the sub.

ah good point, to be honest I've had that sub next to 3 PC's and I've never had an issue, so I don't think it will hurt anything.

It's a temporary setup or me right now. I just moved, that desk is 7 years old and way too small for my needs. I plan on adding a second 30" ACD in the next month or so, as well as getting a good designer that can finish off the entire room with a new desk, a few chairs, pictures, plants, and lamps, etc... Thanks for all the comments, I'm loving my new Mac Pro!

What kind of speakers/sub setup is that? Looks like that sub might thump the Mac Pro right on it's side!

Let's see some 8800gt's - I've still got two weeks to wait for mine. We need something to keep us going. :p

Those speakers are M-audio studiophile studio monitors. Why they look very powerful, they're more of a balance type and flat sounding speaker for music production then they're for loud bangs.

Here's my un-boxin' pr0n!

My Mac Pro finally arrived this morning (ordered 1/21), so I figured "what better way to spend the almost three hours installing Adobe CS3 than to document and post some unboxin' pr0n?!" :D

The 10.5.2 and Leopard Graphics update installed relatively quickly, and I just now finished all the CS3 updates. *whew*

The machine is ultra-quiet, however, the superdrive sounds like a jet engine when it revs up and reads from disc.

Mr.PS nice looking setup, what type of chair is that and where did you purchase it.

It's a Hermen Miller Aeron with polished chrome base and leather arm rests. It was purchased a local retailer, they can be found online for various prices, many good refurbished models too. I wouldn't recommend it though, it's not as comfortable as they made it out to be in reviews and such.

i have most of the same furniture in my flat in tokyo. do you live in NY? i don't have that chair, but i'm using the butterfly stool instead. i find stools better for concentration.

I always liked the mira chair a bit more. I think they're more comfortable and supportive as well as a tiny bit cheaper.

I received mine few hours ago. I have only one stuck (pinkish) pixel on my 30"ACD and everything else seems to work fine. The hard drive is louder then I expected but not really an issue :)

I live in Chicago. I need a bigger desk, a few nice leather chairs, a few more plants, a desk lamp, and some really nice pictures, plus window treatment. Hopefully my designer can find something I like. I really like the aluminum/modern look, but this desk is too small for me. :(

The chair is garbage too, very uncomfortable for longer sits, plus it squeeks and it's just cheap. I paid $1400 for it back in July of 2006, meh. I'm going to go for a Steelcase this time, big comfy bottom, same polished look, much bigger and more comfortable.

Uh-oh... I think they installed your 8800GT upside-down. Better send it to me and I'll fix...

as for the desk lamp, would you consider one from artemides? i just bought one for my desk and it's very nice. i suggest it. your flat is very spacious indeed.

Here are some pictures of my new "Early 2008" Mac Pro (3.2; 8-core; 1TB HD; 2x1gb + 12gb not yet installed, sitting on bookshelf,) which arrived yesterday at 1:39pm PST:

Very nice, congrats! (can you congratulate someone who's just plonked $4k on a computer? :p

And how do you find that brother MFC, it's a laser version isn't it? I'm thinking of buying one...

I'll take the congrats. After spending $4k, I need it! :)

The Brother MFC is not just the best printer I've ever owned, it's the best one I've ever used. Go for it.

Is that the 22 or 24 inch gateway monitor? I have the 24 inch fhd2400. I also own the older version of the 22 inch monitor, which I will be using on a mac pro if I can convince myself to order it.
