I like it

Simple is good when it comes to this sort of thing. Otherwise you just get distracted by stuff when you're trying to concentrate on the screen.

I'd consider putting something on the walls though. Artwork or framed movie posters perhaps, if you're a film fan?

Also, what software and hardware are you using? Looks like Plex or XBMC?

^ That is simply stunning. It's nice because it's not over powering the decor, it's real classy.

using XBMC, plex does not do hardware acceleration. I have nettop with intel atom + nvidia ion so i can use DXVA for video playback. arnd 8% CPU usage for playing back 1080p content. pretty awesome

I hate to quote images but I would really like to know the brand of the all black lamp in the corner ( or where it was purchased), its perfect! Very well done rooms J4YP34.

I spy Six Nations rugby! Go Wales! Too bad we unlucky ones living in backwater countries like the US don't get to see the Six Nations. Thank god for bittorrent.

Nice setup.

Thanks for the comments. I wasn't actually watching the rugby...it's wasted on me. I'm more into football myself.

The lamp is from a UK shop called Habitat. Not sure if you have one where ever you are in the world. We bought it a litle while ago but I think they still do it and it's also available in White.

J4YP34, thanks! I found it on their website, unfortunately they do not ship to US. Still thanks for the info this store has a lot of nice furnishings, at reasonable prices.

Well, it's gonna be hard to follow up that guy before. But here is my humble entertainment area. All I have is a really, super dodgy camera atm and the lighting ain't good

There are also a 4 speakers in ceiling behind the couch, but they are just ordinary generic ones. Don't ask me for specifics cos most of the components have been cobbled together from past lifetimes (the speakers in general). The Yamaha we got cheap. And the TV is broken.

I'll attempt to list them: 46" X-Series Bravia, some low-mid Yamaha receiver, PS3, 2 big floor standing speakers, an old Yamaha woofer, a really ancient Sony probably hi-fi speaker (centre channel), and 4 generic rear speakers (out of picture).

Ugh, I just realised you can't see the receiver, but I'm too lazy to take another pic.

^^ nice setup sammy! very neat and tidy! TV looks a tiny bit small for the room though :p

sorry to hear about the tv being dead :(

wish i had a hi-fi setup, i just use TV speakers - which are DREAFUL.

If you don't have money for hi-def speakers, do what I did.

I got 7 years ago (time does fly) a Creative Inspire 5.1 Digital 5700 and works wonderfully, for my dvd player, PS3 and PC.

Sure it is not compared to hi-def speakers, but it can handle pretty good and the sound is very good.

I know that creative no longer make this kind of system, but who knows there is another enterprise that offers a system like I have.
