Taken at the Out of the Darkness suicide prevention walk in Chicago yesterday with a 6s plus, no edits. I have to admit... I don't love it.

Taken with the front of the 6s plus at the walk. Apologies for my appearance. Was a hard day.

I don't know. I almost feel like my 6 plus was better. My 5s was better. I'm not sure what I dislike so much, but I haven't really been happy with any images. The first picture I took was using the front camera and it was so bad I'm not even going to post it. Looks like a joke. :/

Might I suggest:

I think some education may help??? That is a neat website, however I'm not saying you don't know what you are doing, all of us could learn new things...

Your selfie is bad because the sun is behind you and it is putting a lot of glare on the lens. Have someone shield the sun (hold a hand up to put a shadow on the front of the iPhone) and it will look much better, or simply turn around.

I feel that in low-light conditions or not so perfect conditions (like the sun not right behind you and lots of haze/clouds), the photo's aren't that great with fixed aperture and well, a mobile camera. I feel that the optical image stabilization in iPhone 6S plus does seem to help with low light conditions.

If you really feel that the camera's not holding up, I'd recommend taking it to an Apple store where they may be able to help if there is a real problem.

iPhone 6s + using camera+

Yeah I was trying to be humorous and see if anyone would even think to notice...

One guy did, and now some more hehehe.

Goes to show you a 800 dollar camera which costs as much as an 800 dollar or more iPhone can do much better at taking pictures and video. Especially with a 1" 20.1MP sensor and true 1:1 4k video with one heck of an optical zoom! Also has WIFI remote control via app on Apple or Android and you can use LARGE sized memory cards for very large sized files.

Yes it was crazy and still is to pull out and use because well its not a cell phone, its a heavy expensive camera. (Panasonic FZ1000)

In other words, if you want telescopic moon shots go buy this camera. If you want small blips in a picture to share with others called the "moon" use an iPhone 6s.

(SMILE) :) :p

I'm just playing around in this thread. I will stop, and let you all enjoy your new gadget. All this talk though got me pulling out devices collecting dust and actually using them again!

I got to many hobbies and kind of gave up on them for awhile; been gaming and surfing web most of the time using an iPad Air 1 and now I cannot put down the Ipad Mini 4. I think I got the battery kinks worked out, just need IOS 9 and apps from developers to mature and work better and we are all set!

Enjoy!

Well, that is not with an iPhone! I took one last night and it was small...

Your first shot looks great, (in the lineup you posted at top) I like it and it is comparable to other great shots using other cell phones and or professional cameras!

Front cam selfie, looked blurry maybe due to fingerprints and smudges all over it on front of phone and bad lighting. I have to remind my wife to always clean the lens before attempting to take any picture or video from her cameras on an android phone.

last pic is ok but cannot read minds unfortunately, so do not know what you were expecting out of the picture of water, sky and boats in a landscape infinity focus shot.

Nice thing about digital photography? You do have unlimited resources to keep trying at it until you get better. I used my expensive camera to shoot the moon last night, tried all manual controls and settings for photos at dusk and 4k video. The best and sharpest picture came from a screen grab of a frame from the 4k video. It was more sharper and detailed than the camera in photo mode taking the same shot. So thats the one I went with to share...

I got multiple 64gb sdcards to try until I get it right. I know the iPhone may be limited on that topic, unless you got one with lots of storage. ICloud helps with that though and then you can take more shots until you get it the way you like. If all else fails, use the built in Apple photo editor and hit magic wand. It helps with certain pictures most of the time, every now and then makes it look worse.

Good luck!

Yeah, iphonephotographyschool.com is a really great website for photography tips in general, and they feature amazing iPhone photos and photographers.

Went out to the country this evening with my 6S :) slightly processed these in Camera Raw & Photoshop CC and resized to post. I miss the grain of my 5C, but this camera is still an upgrade (especially for video). Loving that the camera doesn't seem to drain the battery as much when I'm using it.

Let's add a degree of user error to some of these photos. Some people just do not know how to take a good picture. You can't blame the camera for that. Other than that, I am impressed by the photos I am seeing.

Agreed. We're just regular people with an awesome phone that has a point-and-shoot camera on it. It may be the best camera some folks own but that doesn't make it a good camera for everyone. But to hear some people criticize in this thread this how we should be taking photos. Note: Photo below NOT taken with an iPhone. :p

Honestly, I just posted the first pictures taken with the phone. At this event it was all I could do to even get pics. I elected to share them as they are just random snapshots - and I was getting better "aim click" type pictures with my old phones. I do know how to take a better picture, I'll come back with some where I'm paying attention to what I'm doing. Thanks though!
