Just tried attaching a doc (from a SD Memory card) in Gmail directly and it crashed Safari's Flash plugin. I copied the doc to my HD and it worked fine.

I have no problem with logmein, did you update the logmein, is a new version..

I checked to see if there was an update for logmein and it said that I was up to date. When I log onto my account I can see my IMac but when I click on it to connect I have to put in my user name and password. I put it in and it says access is denied Error 5. Not sure what the problem is. I checked the firewall and it is off. I don't know what else to do. I know I am using the right user name and password.

Thanks!

Nathan

I feel very fortunate to have the very few bugs and issues that I do have after reading this forum all weekend. Yikes. This is a Microsoft-level blunder by Apple.

Flash was running constantly in safari, using a lot of the CPU. Someone on another board suggested getting the latest version of flash, which helped. Perhaps that would make a difference in this case.

Edit: Link for latest version (which is 10.0.32.18)

1) Keyboard shortcuts within Spaces don't seem to work i.e. the number keys for selecting a Space or C to gather all windows into Space 1.

2) Spotlight lists certain search results with foreign text. The two main culprits are Terminal and Disk Utility:

3) Had to reinstall iDVD, refused to even load.

4) Photo Booth caused a complete system lock up earlier, had to reboot.

5) iMovie crashes after importing footage (although a restart of iMovie does work fine)

6) Finder seems slow copying and pasting. There's a couple of seconds between stuff being copied to a window and the window showing it.

7) Not sure if this is a bug, but CTRL & Option no longer works as a keyboard shortcut for copying and pasting in Finder. But Option alone does??? (CMD & Option still works for making an Alias)

I did an Archive and Install initially and have since done a full Erase and Install. Not displeased with SL altogether, I'm sure over time it'll improve but it does seem as if Apple have spunked a teensy bit early here

So far the only glitches are related to third party apps/plugins that are not supported (Quicksilver, Glims, Growlmail, SafariAdBlock, IStats, etc).
If you have software/plugins that are no longer supported I would suggest complete/clean uninstalls them -- deleting all plist files and plugin folders. After cleaning out these files, Snow Leopard is reliable and very fast.
I concur. I installed it on three machines, and only had trouble on one. I had incompatible programs (Little Snitch and VMWare Fusion) which were constantly causing a launchd process to run. Since I uninstalled both of these, SL has run without a problem on the third machine.

I dunno, the level of noise and complaints seem the same as Leopard and before that Tiger. On the other hand though most of the complaints with Leopard was upgrading while 3rd party hacks were installed, and it seems that there are more clean install problems than with Tiger or Leo - so you may be right.

It is hard to tell by reading tech forums. FWIW: I have had zero problems with SL using upgrade, none of my 15 family members have had problems, and none of my friends or associates have complained about SL bugs. (All told about 30 Macs in my little circle with zero problems upgrading to Snow Leopard).

Not everyone wants to or can take days to get their computers back to where they want them to be. Obviously, this man has better things to do with his time than reinstall all of his apps and customize everything all over again.

And he spends that time fixing the problems his time saving cost him?

My Father taught me long ago, "do it right the first time".

Firefox is being a cow. Most sites that I use for streaming sports don't want to load. Even when they do load, they're incredibly sluggish and I'm forced to switch to Safari. It wouldn't be a big deal if Safari had even remotely logical shortucts (i.e. ones that you could use one hand for), but no.

After seeing the apps I normally use are reported to work on SL, I did an upgrade install. Everything has been working great so far, none of the usual issues people are reporting. Interface is certainly quicker than Leopard, but some of that is probably due to having restarted fairly recently.

This is how it is with every upgrade. The vast majority of users had no issues at all. The ones that have issues, caused by the OS are a very small minority. But they post the most. These posts are not indicative of a general blunder by anyone.

10.6.0 sounds positively... craptastic. Thank you beta testers! :D
:D

I'm sitting here chuckling over how brilliant I was in my decision to hold off on 10.6. Now my wife comes home and tells me she just bought 2 copies through Amazon.

I hope they get lost.

Can't connect to ANY shares on ANY 10.6 Mac from ANY Windows machine. I am prompted for a password each time and nothing I ever try works. Nothing changed on the Windows machines, so I must conclude that there is a setting in 10.6 which must be changed in order to allow Windows machines to access shares and drives -- or that 10.6 is just plain broken. (Macs can access Windows shares without any problem.)

Yeah, looks like I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and reinstall. I can't work with this crap. I can't even browse Safari without having it crash on me. Absolute garbage.

Haven't experienced most of the problems mentioned here (clean install uMBP). A few minor things:

The sidebar on Finder no longer exhibits click-through behavior, it has to be the top most window to click anything on it.

If one stack is open and you click on another stack, sometimes it doesn't open.

Had all multi-touch cut out at one point, had to reboot.

Unplugged an external monitor and the laptop screen wouldn't come back on, even upon closing and opening. Had to hard-reboot.

Overall, I love it. The new expose pleases me.

Yay, I just reverted back to OS X 10.5.8. LOL.

So far the biggest problems…

Adobe Photoshop CS4…crashes when trying to save a file

Desktop Pictures…crashes when trying to add a folder, and won't remember which folder for pictures on boot

MS Office 2004…totally unresponsive when launching…even after installing Rosetta

Geneva font suitcase…it gets tossed out during Snow Leopard's installation

So even Apple is allowed a dogturd every once in a while. You'd think a 3 year old machine could run it without too much problem! But it's a no go. Thank God for time machine, or we'd be screwed!!! ;)

Upgraded, sometimes my clock disappears.

I had the same issues running Safari from a clean install. After updating the Flash plug-in to the latest version I have had no beachballs other crappy behavior. (Apparently the on that ships with Snow Leopard is old.) If I were you, I might try this first if you aren't having issues with any of the other OS components.

Only problem I've had with my Pro was that on "About This Mac" the "More Info" button was greyed out, and when I clicked it I got a message about not being able to find System Profiler. Ran System Profiler manually, and that seemed to put everything back to normal.

Also installed on my MacBook but not really played with it on that yet.

Thanks for the tip. I did have the latest Flash plugin installed but Safari still crashes constantly. This is on my 2.93 iMac, so it's not like this is an old machine lol.

Not sure how well my MBP has been performing but this was an upgrade as well. I haven't decided whether I should just rollback or roll the dice and hope for better luck with a fresh SL install. Doesn't seem like many others have faced as many problems as my experiences. I can handle little things here and there, but for programs to crash constantly really pisses me off.

I did a blank disc install and haven't had many issues at all. Thankfully not what few things I've noticed here at least. I'm very happy about that.

What I have found...

Finder: I set cover flow to a 50/50 split of my finder window and yet every time I open a new window it's 90% cover flow and 10% file listings. WTH?

Quicktime refuses to stay and open in the center of my screen. It always opens to the left side and I have to drag it to the middle.

For Quicktime: do you have the problem when you start playing a movie, and then you want to manually skip to a different section of the movie by dragging the cursor, but you have to keep hitting the play button (because it keeps pausing the movie which is totally dumb)?

Randomly the Fkey which has the expose function does single application expose instead of what I set it to do (i am supposed to have to hold down the FN key for that to happen.

Tried uploading a video via QuicktimeX to youtube. Not certain if this is a persistent problem but if it is I am going to go ahead and post it

issues

Did a clean install on my unibody macbook.
Spaces animations are very choppy. When iTunes is playing it's even worse, god knows why, but it's true.
After using the computer only with the cinema display (lid closed), it will hang on shutdown/restart.
