While there may be a way to complain directly to Apple they are probably more than aware of this thread and any others and might even be aware of the Glitches entirely and are already working on them.
I'd bet that Apple ignores this place. Most of the things reported here are problems for some and not for others. And those that don't fall into the bug category are subjective at best.

Somebody needs to compile a "proven" bug list thread that is substantiated by competent users and then moderated.

Underwhelmed... Mainly 3rd Party Software Problems

Repeated crashes of both MS Word and Intuit Quickbooks (admittedly a generally flawed software product - even before SL).

Can't find a brother scanner driver and application that used to be available upon start-up.

Having a hard time getting MacBook Air to go to sleep.

Have a little bit more disc space available but other than that none of the supposed improvements are that noticeable. I regret having upgraded so soon. Should have waited for the first software update.

.

yeah i have a hard time getting my MacBook to sleep and to wake up. nothing fishy in the console either.

another issue i have is with the Sandisk Cruzer flash drive, with it plugged in it will not let my computer go to sleep or wake up correctly. it is probably just the flash drive though.

no issues on the Mac mini

When I navigate through various folders from a folder in the dock, my sorting preferences (i.e. date modified) are not retained. In Leopard, this was not the case. Very annoying.

I'm using Mail to connect to my Exchange 2007 server, and I can't move any mail into folders.

I *see* all of my folders, but if I try to drag messages to any of them I get:

The message "foo" could not be moved to the mailbox "blah".

An error occurred while moving messages to mailbox "blah".

Any message. Any folder.

Preview and Safari problems

EDIT: This one is solved in tkermit's post below --> I'm having a problem in Preview - in prior versions I could open a PDF, go to Edit, and there was a choice "delete selected page". It no longer exists in Preview after SL upgrade. Anyone else notice this? If I scan a document and end up with dupes, blanks, etc., of pages, it was nice to be able to delete individual pages to clean up the pdf, right there in Preview.

Also still having the problem in Safari if I click on a link to a download, a gray screen page pulls up, with the spinning "loading" symbol near the url box, but the d/l never happens. Only way I can d/l is to right click and choose to save download link manually. Really annoying.

I can delete pages within PDFs in SL simply by selecting the page, going to edit and then selecting "Delete".

I use my MBP in clamshell mode 99% of the time.

I guess I could say I need "I really mean it, GO TO BED" button because I have to tell it to sleep twice now.

Otherwise its a bit warmer but I don't have my numbers from before, but I do know I never had fans just browsing and I do now.

Noticed key commands sometimes don't work first time, and CMD+TAB switches the menu bar to the application but none of the application windows come up.

And some windows appear to the front even if they aren't active. Like I got an IM from Messenger 7 while browsing Safari and the IM window came to the front!

Ah, thanks. I was trying that, but it wasn't working, and then realized that I was working on a protected document and it wasn't giving me any sort of an error message.

Massive browser and Spotlight issues doing a clean install and user migration. Spotlight comments weren't being recognized and other metadata was being read in garbled script. Reindexing didn't solve anything.

Reverting back to Leopard and doing the upgrade resolved the loss of my Spotlight tags. Safari is the only browser left with weird locking. I'm stuck using FireFox for now.

My MacBook runs a little hotter as well.

Fans are starting to piss me off. They go on all the time, and in Leopard they never went on during normal use.

I hope they release a fix asap.

Get Fan Control 1.2 and set the temperatures for the fans to come on automatically.

I did an upgrade install and it's working perfectly! Only had one Safari 4 crash, was like that on Leopard so big woop. Only tiny niggle is sometimes when I delete something, the trash icon stays empty for some time and I thought you could restore from trash, wasn't that supposed to be a new SL feature?

Back to 10.5.8 for me

Well it was snowy for about 12 hours. Stupidly installed before checking that a vital networked printer would work - no compatible driver from Canon yet. Thank goodness for Time Machine and four spare hours to wait!

Anyway, did notice some weirdness too:

A number of dialogues seemed to stay on top of all other windows. I've never noticed this before. For example the 'add printer' dialogue.

Something that happens in 10.5.8 (more so than any other 10.5 version) is windows/dialogues getting 'lost in spaces'. It seemed worse in 10.6 which was a big disappointment. I had hoped for a fix.

I tried to use spotlight to search a network folder. The finder froze. When I was finally able to force quit/relaunch, it refused to relaunch: every time I clicked the finder another little window would come up saying it couldn't (with an error message).

The screen seemed less sharp compared to Leopard. And I don't just mean during exposé.

Oh and a Mail plug-in called Letterbox (puts preview window beside list of mail rather than underneath) doesn't work in SL yet. I seriously could not go back to the up and down way.

My keyboard shortcut for bringing up a spotlight finder window stopped working. Maybe I needed to set it again?

Oh yeah and Rosetta wasn't installed. I forgot to check it when I did a custom install (to skip the other languages). Surely the default should be to install components which are vital for your software to work?

iTunes loaded and ran just as slowly as usual. Maybe a faster version will come next week...

Didn't really get to test out much more. I'll give it another go when the printer drivers and the Mail plug-in I mentioned are ready.

Anyone losing connection with their bluetooth keyboard? Keeps waking my iMac in the middle of the night, waking me up:mad:

I get a an issue with my Apple Bluetooth keyboard not re-connecting after I wake my iMac.... it just won't connect ..

I have to manually to go the BT icon in the top right and select my keyboard and select "Connect" PITA!

I've deleted my keyboard from the BT list of devices and re-added it, but it still won't re-connect on wake.

I did an upgrade from 10.5.8 to 10.6 btw.

- QuickTime Player X can't play 720p mkv's smoothly anymore. They will stutter and skip frames. Sound is also way off. Might have something to do with Perian, VLC works fine. I totally forgot to try QuickTime Player 7 in Snow Leopard.
Your QTPX opens MKVs at all? :p I have Perian installed but it refuses to even open them. I'm using QTP7 for all my videos... X just sucks.

Mostly SL has been running well. One bug I've had is that I can't drag n drop images from Safari to CS4 apps anymore. :(

Oh, and Preview is kind of buggy when opening groups of images. Sometimes it opens several images of the group in separate windows, sometimes it only opens a couple of the group. Of all the default apps, Preview always seems to get new bugs in 10.x.0 releases. I actually think it had a similar or same problem in 10.5.0 or one of the previous releases.

With "Show item info" turned on for Desktop icons, the free space text under mounted volumes is truncated, regardless of text size or grid spacing, where it wasn't in Leopard.

Last time I did that, it messed up my blackbook. I eventually sold it and got the aluminium and since the fans were fine in 10.5, I'm going to assume there's a bug somewhere in 10.6. I don't want to use a 3rd party program to regulate my fan speeds.

Quicksilver, 1Password, Exposé, Lightroom

1. Quicksilver preference dialog box shows up blank.
2. 1Password icon does not show up on the Safari toolbar (and I've already tried all the potential fixes suggested on the developer's website).
3. Exposé animations noticeably less smooth than before. 4.
4. No speed gains in Lightroom (some things are actually slower, e.g., exporting).

I did a clean install onto a freshly formatted internal drive in my Mac Pro 1,1, then migrated user data only and reinstalled all 3rd party apps (plus iLife '09).

For now I'm keeping SL dormant and booting back to my Leopard drive. I'll boot to SL from time to time to check for updates, but probably not moving to it completely until at least 10.6.2.

I guess I'm one of the lucky people wrt expose/spaces smoothness. They're both dramatically smoother than they were before. I can have tons of windows open in each space, and doing expose reveal on all of them is nearly smooth as silk. On Leopard, I wouldn't even see the animation.

This is with a unibody MacBook.

So far there are several broken things I've found.

Leopard 10.5 by default seemed to create non-GUID partition maps on new disks - NEW internal disks got formatted using the Apple partition scheme and not GUID - so back then (2 years) I knew nothing of such differences and thus cost me a 15hour superduper, format superduper marathon....BEFORE I could even do the 45-50mins 10.6 upgrade.

Time machine backups to smb shares now not working - I see it attempt to create a new .sparsebundle file on the samba mount point and totally ignore the one that worked previously (computername, mac address yada yada) in 10.5 before the upgrade (fortunately I still have the superduper image from above process that I can sync for the time being - surely an easy fix.

Flickr Uploadr - is broken - starts fine and then core dumps to the crash reporter with a random time between 5-15 secs depending on system load. Bit of a pain having to use the Flickr web UI to upload photographs.

Custom Fonts got whacked - user-installed fonts in /System/Library/Fonts were removed within the 10.6 upgrade.

Java 1.4 and 1.5 have gone - bugger for me as I'm a Java developer and switch JDKs regularly. I can build with 1.6 in compatibiliy mode for the other versions but not the point. Plus its created some strange symlinks in the Java framework directories which I guess are to keep things working. Fortunately I'm working purely Java 1.6 (GWT) at the moment so not an issue.

All and all - lots slicker on my 2008 Black Macbook - but not without issues.
