It could also be a compression artifact. Doesn't have to be copy paste.
I think compression artefacts would be homogeneous allover the image. Zoom in and you will notice how there's a clean rectangular "cut" following the shape of the logo. When looking at the whole image, that I did not show, this is the only part that stands out very clearly.

As far as I know, historically, dual cameras have been used like our own eyes to create stereo and 3D photos.
It means both cameras needs to be side by side. All good on the new iPhone 7 for vertical shooting but what happens to the cameras when the iphone is in landscape mode and the cameras are on top of each other?
Nobody knows if both cameras are used simultaneously or they will automatically switch from one to the other in real time for wide or zoomed photos. Now about the design. Yikes. Horrible. Please don't make it protruding anymore. Not only it looks bad but the phone will never sit flat ever. Put the cameras in the center maybe.

Personally, I think the 6 is their second most beautiful design... the way the glass is sculpted in perfect symmetry and proportion and blends in seamlessly with the aluminum frame is genius.

Even the way the antennae lines frame the top and bottom... It's in perfect symmetry with the edges of the display.

It's a triumph of design which explains why HTC and Samsung were quick to copy it... It also explains your differentiation complaint.

Johnny? is that you?

Looks fine. Not sure what you all are fussing about.
However: No USB-C = No buy for me. It's ridiculous for Apple to prolong advancing their technology when everyone knows they can. Exploiting customers' pocketbooks is getting a bit ridiculous. Stop this Lightning bullcrap already.
Overreact much?

Even Samsung didn't put Type C into their S7/e.

I don't believe this...when has Apple every kept the body of a phone nearly identical two models in a row....never. This will have some sort of different design....and for the love of God....ask any ****ing phone user in the world. They phone is thin enough....please give me more battery.

Apple: "So you didn't like the protruding camera? Ok, here's two of them!"

... I think I'm gonna cry if that ugly piece of **** is getting real.

So you don't THINK you want it, yet you completely dismiss it without seeing what it can do?

Man, I just love how close-minded people can be on his forum #thinkdifferent

I just love how QUICK users here are to attack others. Just because YOU like it doesn't mean I DO. So if I don't like it then I'm close-minded? I get it we will all just do what ever you like from now on.

Who the hell cares what the back of the phone looks like? Y'all are weird.

You know what mine will look like? Black leather. Cause it'll be in a case. :D

If covering up bad design makes good design for you, that's fine.

According to this and the other information we have from LinX Imaging, we have a pretty decent idea of how they might be used, and it's not as stereo, it's two cameras at different focal lengths, which is where the optical zoom aspect comes from as well.

I don' t know. It seems like a fake.
Understand the smal bulge on the regular iPhone 7. I just can' t get the very large bulge on the 7+/pro. Because they could use 2 smaller sensors with dual cam tech, say 2x8mp instead of 1x12mp.
And I still don' t like the lines. As far as I am concerned they could do with just the 2 vertical lines at the same place they are now and eliminating the lines on the top and bottom. And there must be a way to use a material for these lines to make them virtual invisible.
But perhaps the look of both the lines and the bulge will grow on me.

That's Bender!

Do you seriously believe that a smartphone with a camera lens of this size will ever be able to match the picture quality of a DSLR?!

Yes, I do. Just look at how far mobile cameras have come in the past 10 years. The 4K video on the 6S Plus in good daylight conditions already rivals the 4K quality of many Pro DSLRs.

The bigger cameras aren't going anywhere, but mobile cams are easily the best selling and most used cameras on the market now, and they're going to keep getting better.
