I have the IPhone X and noted that roughly about 15% of the time when I try to wake up the phone with the power button after it's been asleep for longer duration, the power button will not wake it up after first click. I have to press the button again to wake it up. I had to disable my Apple Pay because of this as it was getting triggered on the second click.

I've tried to sleep/wake the phone numerous times in rapid succession and it works every time so it does not appear that there is a hardware issue...
Can anyone confirm having same problems and this being a software related issue?

Thanks

i think so, but i always use de button.
I have restored and the issue continue

i have the problem that my powerbutton is a little bit cracky. Click sounds strange:(

I have exactly the same issue as you state. Glad to see I am not alone and the other threads suggest it may be a software/settings issue.

IOS 11.3 beta 1,
this issue is very confusing, few people are reporting this issue, and happens to me even with the phone restaured...

Please report the bug at the app feedback of the beta sofware program, maybe if they receive more feedbacks about the issue they can solve it

No one has noticed this bug, because everyone use the rise to wake up and tap to wake.I still have this issue. Is it maybe a hardware issue?

I have a refurbished phone, and both have this issue.

Also I have reported it several times in the app feedback of the beta program and Apple do nothing

Have the same issue on 11.2.5. Really annoying. Don’t know if it’s hardware or software

So it turns out this was caused by my Apple silicone case. Weird, right? I have no way of explaining this quite frankly but all I know is that ever since I switched to one of those cheap clear TPU cases, I haven't had this problem anymore.

Perhaps the silicone Apple case can cause some of the button presses to be SO light that it automatically assumes the user wants to access Apple Pay? So it just doesn't react until the second press? I don't know, that's my guess.

Either way, if you guys have a case on, try switching or using the phone without and see if this still occurs.

I don’t use any case.

Sometimes the power button don’t do nothing, then you press it again and automatically enters to Apple play, it’s a sofware bug

Bump. The power button on a flagship phone literally doesn't work half the time due to a software issue. This is the new Apple.

I know the button press registered because I wait and press it again and it brings up Apple Pay.
