I'm going to do an in-store reservation after I get to play with one. I wonder if Apple will allow cash payment like they finally did with the iPad?
I have a family plan with 2 iPhones. If I reserve 2 new iPhones on 6/15, do you know if I can pick them up at the Apple store myself, or is there a "one iPhone per customer per visit" policy?
I suppose that I am not the only person who has ever returned a phone because of a newer one was released.
I will be within my 30 day until the 7th of July. I am not exactly sure about how to go about pre-ordering the iPhone 4.
Do I just pre-order via the web like everyone else on the 15th of June, show up at my Apple Store with the old one pay any price difference in price, and walk out with an iPhone 4?
Should I just go to the nearest AT&T corporate location on the 24th of June, pay the difference, and get the new phone?
Or is there some other process that I have not thought of that would be appropriate?
How you say I should proceed with pre-ordering?
So if I am going to have it delivered to my house via pre-order - which do you all think is the better route?
AT&T's website or the Apple website?
And once I get it at my house (hopefully) on the 24th .. I just plug it into my Macbook and iTunes will automatically transfer everything and basically "kill" my SIM Card on my iPhone 3G? Am I missing something?

You're going to have to exchange the phone at the original place or purchase whether it be Apple or AT&T, but you will be able to exchange it and just pay the difference if there is one. If you purchased from the Apple store then preorder there and vice versa with AT&T. Beware of the a possible 10% restocking fee.
So I "dialed" the *649# and it said I had to wait till December for a full discount. It said I was eligible for a discounted upgrade. Any idea what that will be??
Is the white iPhone only available in the 32GB version or both?
If I did a reserve at an apple store, would I have to get it 1st thing in the morning or can I go after work around 4 and pick it up. I highly doubt I'll be able to get the day off
Probably end up getting a 32gb white
I am also interested in knowing when preordering has typically begun. Those of you that have preordered in the past...what time do the websites begin allowing preorders? Or, at least when have they historically began allowing preorders?
So, where do you find the infor on how to check this? I can't locate anything in my AT&T account that shows a date... If I click on the 'check eligibility' option it takes me to a shopping site for phones and devices, but no info there, either. The main page indicates I may be eligible for a standard upgrade but no date.... Sigh.
Your best option is to follow the instructions in the official document posted at AT&T.I did my purchase online from AT&T. I questioned the manager of a COR kiosk at my local mall and he said that even though I did the buying online the exchange could be in person. Does/Has anyone have experiance in this regard?
Also, considering this, if I were reserve at my local Apple store what if any complications could arise?

When and where can I pick up my preordered device?
As always, a pick up date depends on when you preorder and on our available inventory. That said, this year were encouraging customers to have devices shipped directly to their home or business the fastest and most convenient delivery option. Customers can also opt to pick up their preorder at an AT&T store. Customers performing an exchange for iPhone 4 must have their device shipped to an AT&T store.
