Because it isn’t lossless and will suffer from too much latency.
I believe most people define lossless as CD quality 16-bit 44.1kHz and higher. This is purported to be 20-bit 48 kHz which would make it lossless by most definitions.
Apple claims “ultra-low latency” in their marketing but don’t know what the spec is.

Never happens because they don't lead off by making BS claims about what they think other people can or cannot do. Thus, no conflict, and everyone is happy. Take notes.

Even if Apple claims you have immersive audio there is no way your body can even feel bass in a room with AVP w/ AirPods Pros. Their audio drivers are very small/light not anything special compared to even cheap full size over-ears headphones. They sound acceptable for what they are, but heck a cheap wired gamers headphone like the wired LogicTech Pro X for $129 makes them sound bad for the money. That even is bundled with a USB external DAC to 3.5MM jack.

Okay, well, you just changed the terms of the discussion so I’m not sure what else to say. Lossless audio is important. Vision Pro appears to maybe have it. People can tell the difference.

I know. And I’m educated enough to speak up when the vocal ignorant want everything made worse because they don’t know better. You should try it. It’s enlightening. There’s a whole world out here for you to enjoy.

And yet according to a National Academy of Sciences paper from 2014, trained orchestral violinists cannot identify sound from a Stradivarius or a modern violin with any frequency greater than chance.
I’m a trained orchestral violinist and I’d say you can tell the difference between the average run of the mill violin and a strad, but probably not the difference between a strad and the top luthiers working today. Also the violinist matters as you can see, just watch.

Seriously? Anyone with reasonably trained ears can differentiate the crap audio most folks listen to from decent audio. Differentiating Stradivarius versus a modern violin is a whole different level of sound quality.

Your silly comment makes my point. Note that I am not saying everyone needs to listen to good sound quality. I am just saying that better sound quality exists and that anyone who claims otherwise is ignorant.

lossless over bluetooth? lol. do people really think they're getting true lossless over pro 2's?

yes they support it but if you stream lossless audio codecs over bluetooth it isn't true lossless. until bluetooth improves you will need wired ear/headphones. remember not even the Airpod Max supports lossless and that has wired connection.

even when we can listen to lossless then most people won't even be able to tell the difference. it's all marketing crap.

This is all true.

I play lossless audio here at home in a very expensive audio system and I have to use special hardware to get true lossless audio to play through my apps which I get from Qobuz.

This is a ridiculous claim by Apple and simply is a lie.
Same goes for their Apple Store claim about lossless there via AirPlay 2 when you’re playing from the Apple Music App.
It’s not.

True lossless is when the audio file you’re listening to includes all the exact same information that the recording engineers and mixers heard in the studio.

On a halfway decent set of speakers, the difference is surprisingly obvious.

96k vs AAC is like drinking pure spring water vs city tap with old pipes.
Agreed. Listen to a set of Klipsch Reference towers compared to a set of Martin Logan Motion 40's . Even someone with terrible hearing would be able to tell the difference immediately.

Good idea, I should name each of my three music degrees after them.

Any more questions or do you want to keep throwing rocks at subjects you know nothing about?
Just one: what satisfaction do you get from these braggadocious lies? Do you even think anyone believes you?

Good work, that’s two questions.

Like I said, the vocal ignorant continues to ruin the world for the rest of us, and I’m fed up with my experience being ruined because people choose to be uneducated and inexperienced.

It amuses me that you’d think I’d lie about having three music degrees. There’s no prestige in music degrees, other than calling out buffoons who pretend to know anything about sound and music but in reality are just dumbing down the world for those of us who actually know and care.

The fact that I know what I’m talking about should be plainly obvious to anyone with more than a handful of brain cells. But I suppose I could post a photo of my diplomas if you really want.

Ugh, caved and got em. Had the Beats Studio buds + in the transparent coolest and was VERY excited abt the cost effective purchase. (Love takin deals, so had Best Buy price match amazon but planned to return em and just get off Am. since they include apple care for free for two yrs at same price and Best Buy won’t match deals like that. Anyways thought twice and said shoot let’s just return these buds anyways and have Best Buy price match am. For the air pro 2s? Turns out I didn’t need to Best Buy was already charging 189. Will gladly do Apple care for 30$ in a few weeks, would be a fool not too).

The ipx rating for the case was the deal breaka. Gotta have a tough case water wise for runs as that’s the main reason I purchased these for exercise, plus the fit is fine. Also, the price going up on amazon for the beats buds plus really solidified the purchase decision.

These pro 2s really need to be experienced to be believed.

Turns out my apprehensions of having to swipe volume up or down also requiring a hold of the stem were truly unfounded as swiping alone does the job (plus changing the time from default to “longer” in the AirPod accessibility settings screen makes it an even better experience for me). One thing to being perfect would be having the option to use the silicone tips or not, also, the noise cancellation is a little too sensitive for wearing hoods or when getting touched for fit adjustments, haven’t really dabbled with conversation awareness or adaptive modes but regular noise cancellation and transparency are extra legit. Wow these are the truth these headphones are.

I wonder why Apple doesn't bring this protocol to the iPhone and Mac, seriously. The absolute worst that could happen is they would... sell more AirPod Pros? If it's using 5GHz they can probably extend the existing WiFi chipset to do it.

It’s Apple, they do it to push Apple Vision Pro. Makes sense in those terms.

It would be VERY weird if the headset wasn’t capable of delivering the same level of audio quality as a pair of AirPods Pro. The reporting has to be wrong.

Eh, again, driving sales for AirPods Pro it has to be it. Seems they’re pushing those over pods max unless I missed something on max abilities with the Vision Pro (wonder why not go with “VISION REALITY PRO” so off the bat it’s “VR” and whatever else…

The Airpods Pro 2 are the first earbuds where I can carry on a conversation in a really windy environment and the other person hears me perfectly with little to no wind noise. I don't know how the hell they do it. I suspect it's using a microphone on the inside to pick up my voice.

They really are amazing devices and totally worth the price.

Your reactions belie your words. You can't help yourself, can you?
Maybe I do have a little too much fun trolling people who have zero clue, yes.

But this as far as I care to go. You certainly didn’t deserve the effort I put into placing some strips of paper on my diplomas; that was my generous donation.

Unless, of course, you have more questions. I am an educator after all and always ready and willing to share knowledge.

Yep. Best part is, these are my first ever AirPods. I bought AirPod pros first generation from Apple but returned em as I didn’t like the fit/feeling of them at the time. …almost a decade since AirPods first released, I love it!
