Ive never pre-ordered. Is the app better than the web page to use? Also, if i am changing carriers is it better to use the carrier site (T Mobile) to order?

If you're changing carriers the process may be too complicated to complete during launch day.

In general, I'd use the app. Are you porting a number? Doing a family plan? Those may make things harder. If the past is a guide, you have around 30 minutes to get into the first batch of devices. It might be worth it to try and go through the process to see how much of a pain it is -before- launch day...but they usually do a credit check and you probably don't want that hit twice.

T-Mobile customers like myself are gonna suffer because 1. T-Mobile receives less units than other carriers and 2. The upgrade ordering page on T-Mobile sucks because they never account for the increased traffic on iPhone preorder day. I reckon most T-Monile customers are gonna be waiting for a good month at the least for their OLED phones.

I think everyone familiar with iPhone launches reached this conclusion at least a week ago.

What would be the best option to get a full priced iPhone on launch day? Im a AT&T Prepaid customer and I want to buy it full price that way it is technically unlocked hopefully for when I need to travel abroad occasionally. Any advice would be appreciated! First time buying a launch day phone in the US as my previous 5 launch day phones have been abroad where most, if not all phones are unlocked full price already.

I just realized I will be out of the country. I guess I won't be getting one of these for... probably 6 months with backorders lol./

If you buy from T-Mobile full price it'll be unlocked. On Apple's site you can't actually buy a Verizon iPhone without a Verizon account, so you're SOL anyway. I think AT&T full-price iPhones were also unlocked, but I haven't been on AT&T in so long that I have no idea if that's true.

I'm not sure if Sprint is unlocked for overseas use. I'm pretty sure it's locked for domestic US.

Question?
I live in the US but will be traveling out of the country and I will be on the island of Ibiza in Spain. Can I still order through the Apple Store app even though I am out of the country of residence?
Any body know?
TIA

By now, everyone who's going to buy the next iPhone already has a perfectly good iPhone. I don't understand this frenetic compulsion to get the next model the second it becomes available. It seems weird to me.
For what it's wroth my phone needs a new battery. I can either do that or I can upgrade. If TMO does "free" upgrades like they have the past two years it doesn't make much sense to keep what I am using and pay for a new battery install.

IDK aboiut frantic. I will order when I can and get it when I get it. I am sure a month or two will bve max. If not, well I can get something else lol.

I will be in japan. I imagine you can so longas you have US address and CC but idk. I will probably be too busy having fun to care lol.

Might be able to use a VPN. Personally I would try ordering something from Apple through a VPN of your choosing prior to iPhone preorder date. If that works you’ll know whether or not Apple blocks orders from established VPN IPs.

If you’re looking for a secure, reliable VPN company I would recommend Mullad.net

It’s almost that time of the year again. Tracking planes out of China, figuring out which distribution center our phones are at, blaming Apple or carriers, refreshing status page, and best of all, trying to dissect what the hell does “preparing to ship” means. I can’t wait :D

You and me both, haha!! It’s the most wonderful time of the year!! :D

I would pre-order right now sight & PRICE unseen!

I’d be right there with you, haha!! No questions asked. :D

I’ll have the iMac, iPad, and iPhone all queued up and refreshing like crazy right up to launch time Friday morning.

It’s going to be crazier than ever this year...Wow!!

Lol! Seriously, it was that smooth! Last year I didn't even suffer any lag in the App. Loaded up right at 3, confirmation email was for 3:01.

Though to be fair, my iPhone 6 preordering experience was a bit more... irritating through Sprint :D

That's because last year almost nobody cared about the iPhone 7, practically no change since the 6, but this year, if there's no iPhone 7S and they go straight to the 8, it's going to sell like crazy and pretty sure the process won't be as easy.

You definitely can. As long as you’re shipping it to a US address and using a credit card with a US billing address

I know cause I always preorder and ship it to my sister address in the US while I myself live in Egypt

Will I need a TMobile Account? And if I use my dads verizon account and purchase through that would it work? He has Verizon. I can give him my 7+ to use after since its factory unlocked anyways

Really interested how much the top spec will be.

Actually at this point, really interested in a SE model with touchid

I'm thinking there's going to be some competition that night. Thanks for the moves :D

I'm ready  ...but prepared for the worst, after all that jet black and 7 plus chaos last year.

For those of us who got a launch iPhone 7 Plus with the Upgrade program how does this work? Can we even preorder? Do we have to go to a store?

It will be nice to put the rumors to rest. Sort fact from fiction and decide if Apple has earned an upgrade this year from me.
