One episode behind, I think. The God scene at the end of Season 1 was outstanding. :)

Oh no, then yes you are one episode behind. Oh no, the "god" scene in NOLA had me cracking up. I rewound it a couple of times to hear what can be had and for what price. I was laughing pretty hard. Not to mention every time he goes into a location and asks about god, the responses are priceless. It is subtle, but it cracked me up for some reason. I could totally see this happening in the comic....... something Garth would write.

Caught up to Dallas episode, good back story but it dragged a bit. I ended up liking Victor.

Is it me or is this Season kinda not as good as Season 1? Hell is a drag, New Orleans is drab, heaven is hard to swallow. ;)

It still has its great moments but I agree, its dragging. I don't like the way Tulip has been acting. Maybe a shorter season with less filler would have been better.

I think I missed something this week. The guy who works for the grail was shown to have saved the SoK from the van at the bottom of the lake. He made a deal with him to kill preacher. Yet, Preacher was saved at the end from that guy's boss, the one eyed dude who controls the grail. Why did the black grail worker free SoK to kill preacher just to have his boss save preacher at the last second?

That was a way for the Grail to coerce/trick Jesse into needing them. Remember, he doesn't know they released the SOK, all he knows is Herr Starr stepped in and saved him (since he apparently has some connections in hell :D). Even with Starr kneeling, clearly he's the one in charge and he's just looking to harness this power.

Granted, as a plan, releasing an unstoppable killing machine, and hoping you time things _just_right_ to step in and save Jesse, is up there with, let's go catch an ice zombie and bring it back to covince Cersei to side with us ...

I haven't caught up completely, I think I am still a few episodes behind you guys and gals, but aside from the names, there is very little that is sticking to the books.

I always wonder why writers and directors "have to or want to" put their own spin on an established story. Irks me to no end. Now granted there are a few story lines that would have to be changed, but come on, this reminds me of True Blood all over again. {Insert face palm here}

Yes! Still terrific, but I'm a huge fan of the original source material, and I think they're doing a great job with it (even with some of the more notable changes).

I’m still behind, watched S3:E1 and Tulip’s revival. I thought the portrayal of purgatory was interesting and would probably not have recognized the chicken revived from Jesse’s youth other than it being mentioned in the recap article link I posted. So is that a normal very long lived chicken? ;) I am reminded of another story (Practical Magic) were bringing a person back to life had decidedly more of a negative outcome, so I have to wonder if Tulip besides being out of purgatory is out of the woods? :) I’ll keep watching for now.

Right, it's stay focused, people. :)

These seems to be an issue with a lot of shows lately.

I haven't started season two yet, have five or so episodes on the DVR ready to go, but haven't had time to catch up.

For those who read the books, have they at least gotten back to some of the story lines of the book? I was disappointed with the way they started to to divert some of the main story lines.

Sadly, I’ve decided to drop Preacher. Although I loved season 1, I’ve decided that the story is too dark and violent without enough payback, and the bottom line is I don't care enough about the characters or if God is found or not. Heaven seems to be a bankrupt place, just as flawed as Earth.

This may sound stupid, but when I imagine a heaven, this might be a fun way to poke believers, ;) but to consider it sincerely, it’s too depressing and distracting to imagine heaven being run by people such as Mr. Star. It’s possible, I don’t get it, but as is I can’t even enjoy the story as satire. Maybe I’m getting old. :p
I’ve not read the graphic novel.

Ugh... I hope this isn't the case. The heaven part in the book is super short, same with the hell portion. The main focus has always been on The Preacher and Tulips relationship, with a sprinkle of Cassidy (actually a few issues are dedicated to just him, which are actually pretty good).

I was worried about the show after last season. The books are very dark, and at times super twisted, so that part doesn't bother me to much. But I can relate to not caring about the characters. I maybe doing the same thing as I was on the fence after last season.

I really enjoyed last night's episode, with a few exceptions. I liked the background sorry of Jesse, and how he still feeling bound to his grandmother.

The hell scenes were just strange, but I guess there had to be some way to get back to Hitler and the kid.

Why didn't Cass die when Preacher stabbed him with a wooden stake in the chest?
