Predicted iOS5 untethered jailbreak release date?(Now for A5 devices iPhone4s iPad2)

The above was from the 23rd.... hopefully he will have something for us 4s users soon... I just don't know if I should stay on 5.0 or go to 5.0.1 - my worry is that if I wait to upgrade to 5.0.1, then 5.1 will be released and 5.0.1 won't be signed anymore and I will be stuck at 5.0 because 5.1 won't have a JB. It 'looks' like 5.0.1 will be JB untethered, but I am scared to make the move and upgrade!
I don't know what I should do!

Well even if the Chronic Dev team finishes the A4, from the sounds of it, pod2g is going to have them wait until he finishes the A5...that way they are both released and we dont risk the exploit being found and being patched by apple before the A5 jailbreak

Feel free to jump in and find your own exploit, and Jailbreak your own phone, so you don't have to wait for something that has never been promised to you from anyone.

I don't see the need to Jailbreak because my iPod Touch does exactly what I want it to do. I want it to play music, easily browse the web, and access Facebook. Now when I get iPhone 4S in April that opinion might change

At this point I'm on the same page.
Incremental updates in other iOS updates (4.1,.2,.3) were all pretty useless for my daily usage, thus I would definitely prefer an untethered jailbreak on any version of iOS 5 for my 4S as a first priority.
You know it's pathetic when you choose a jailbreak over official software updates!

Who cares that he has an exploit, that's only half the battle. Packaging into the tool requires some work too. I'm guessing that's why pod2g handed his work over to chronic.

Now you know why I'm still on my iPhone 3G with 3.1.3, outside of the obligatory 4.x/5.x not being supported on it. I'd rather take a bit slower, jailbroken, and unlocked over absolutely slow, unsupported, and possibly not having any of the features I need.

He handed it over so he could focus on the A5 jailbreak. He hasnt said anything since thursday, I wonder if that mean's he has been working hard, or if just took some time off for the holidays (which is fine). He said a lot in the days leading up to Christmas, so thats what has kind of caught me off guard.

They're free, so you can't complain about how slow they are...
Still excited for one for the 4S. I already have the AT&T 64GB version, so other than the unlocked one, mine with the JB will be the ultimate iPhone. yay!
Actually iPhone Dev team is free, chronic dev team always ask for "inspiration" (aka donation). They already have a free iPhone 4S and an iPad 2.
You have your answer. If you didn't found anything it's because there's no untethered jb for iPhone 4 running iOS 5+. Get updated info in pod2g twitter
