i dont think there will be any jailbreak!! they are just making it up!! they never released the unlock of iPhone 4 till yet!! and they did tell that they have unlocked it!

Predicted iOS5 untethered jailbreak release date?(Now for A5 devices iPhone4s iPad2)

So today is November 16th.....Unless the JB is released tommorow, my prediction of November 17 is off.
Maybe this Sunday then? I could be wrong, but aren't most jailbreaks released on Sunday Funday? I would actually think that we shouldn't realistically start expecting one before the weekend following black friday.
i am talking about the basebands above 1.59.00!! what about them? mind telling me? i remember last year on november i bought the iphone 4 and at that time the hackers were like they have found the exploit and will be releasing the unlock soon! and i think the soon will be when the iPhone 7 comes out LOL!
At this time the dev team isn't promising or really even researching unlocks for any new basebands or hardware. I'm guessing Apple finally wised up and plugged all the holes ... plus Gevey seems to be doing a decent job with that demand.
and the demand is quickly diminishing. The iPhone is now available on 3/4 major carriers in the U.S. with the possibility of the 4th being bought out by att. Coupled with the fact that by now apple has probably patched almost all of the security holes in the base band and it's unlikely we will probably ever see an unlock again.
Apparently they were at one of the security conferences (either Blackhat or Defcon) for a while, and that's slowing things down. They'll do it eventually, I'm also hoping for an unlock, but considering I don't have a passport yet, and no plans to travel abroad, it's not exactly of high important to me. I guess most of the international traveling folks are OK with paying the full, unlocked price.
I love how people just completely swerved this thread's topic from untethered jailbreak to an unlock.

Well, unlock is the next logical step after an untethered jailbreak. Although honestly, the international travelers probably have enough money to afford the unlocked iPhone in the first place, so it may be a moot point.
No. It's doubtful for the end of 2012. If you want an unlocked phone, buy a factory unlocked one.
I still have a feeling it won't be before the end of 2011. My original vote was first few months of 2012 - if it happens before that then I'll be surprised (and happy) but I have not heard a peep anywhere on the net, and there's no updates on where they are at on Dev Team Blog etc.... they are being tight lipped about it.
I'm dying with this 4s, almost wish I had not traded my 4 for the 4s now. The phone is pretty much unusable as an organizer without Lock Info. I hate how everything is fragmented. And I miss iBlacklist, and 3G Unrestrictor too!
I used my brothers upgrade to buy a 4S and gave him my 4, as he is younger and doesn't have the cash to upgrade and will be content with a 4.
However, I am suffering from buyer's remorse, as although Siri is cool (never gets used, I'm rarely on the road, the only real place it seems to be useful for handsfree features) and the camera is great, I almost am in disbelief that I dropped $200 for the same phone in white with some improvements that aren't noticeable as the 4 is an excellent device to start with. That, and mostly the fact that I had to go from having a jailbreaked device all the time to not at all - that is the worst!

This is exactly how I'm feeling. I didn't have a jail broken iP4 though. I know coming into the iP4S that it wouldn't be a huge change, but it was the latest and greatest and my mom let me use her upgrade if I gave up my iP4. Now I'm twiddling my thumbs because I'm bored with the phone and I dropped $200 on it (plus AppleCare+ and a bunch of cases) and I want to dive head first into jail breaking. Been reading up on it and gettin prepared. I had an iPod touch 1G that I had jailbroken way back when, but I sold that a while back and have nothing to play around with a jailbreak on. Trying to convince my gf to give me her iPod touch to do it with but she's pretty stubborn

I agree. Usually they're released on weekends or Sunday's, and I don't see them working on it with thanksgiving here. Hopefully early December!

I'm still jailbroken on iOS 4.3.3. I'm getting really tempted to upgrade to iOS 5.
The tethered jailbreak with the semi-tether added to it is fine. I've never had an issue with either. If you're sick of 4.3.3, I'd make the jump.
