So you claim that this thread is about "nothing". Have you read through the past few pages including the first post, they share one common topic- iOS5 untethered jailbreak.

Maybe next time, you should brush up on your reading skills, the lack of depth and understanding in your posts is not needed here.

hahaha, i did read the thread. It is about nothing. Do you know anything about this jailbreak? Didn't think so.... all this thread is, is a bunch of people aimlessly guessing about something they know nothing about, then you crying when people brought up an unlock...

Quit being such a baby about your freaking thread. crying because someone brought up a parallel topic and proclaiming your thread great because a bunch of people looked at it, is pathetic. Maybe if your thread was so great you would have got more than 100 comments on 20,000 views.

Hmmm you're not just starting the rumour yourself are you?? LOL I have not heard, but I will be up for a bit, so if it's true... hoping for good news! I am about ready to sell the 4s and go with something else!

No. I follow iHaz3 on Twitter and noticed earlier that he said he would post his naked butt on Twitter if the untethered jb is released tonight.. so I did some investigating and found p0sixninja (a member of the dev_team) had referenced making a blog post tonight after a game he was attending. Probably just a status update...

Wife is running 5.0.1 w/ the semi-tethered jailbreak with zero issues. She WAS experiencing quite a few crashes, but that was before I discovered she was putting folders within folders, lol. Took them out and she hasn't had a single crash since. So anyone able to jailbreak 5.0+ should go ahead and do it; I'm constantly jealous of her being jailbroken. Aren't people supposed to be 'jealous' of the new devices and not new device owners jealous of older hardware? Haha.

Ye he basically said, Apple closed 2/5 important security holes and they no longer can make the jailbreak.

They also said they are making new software that will change a setting in your iTunes to stop sending crash reports to Apple and instead send all of them to Chronic Dev, so that hopefully they will be able to find exploits faster. They also are hoping to stop apple from seeing some of the exploits, but since the majority of users don't JB, and won't use this program, we'll see if that's very effective. Mac version in beta, windows presumably coming out in the morning.

Looks like we will be lucky to have a JB before the end of the year. Better start setting your timetables for a January release.

Either you do not comprehend English sentences or you are just being ignorant.

This thread clearly has a topic and I was pointing out how some people were digressing from the main topic with an unlock. Elaborate on how I'm "crying" in this thread.

None of your threads have even exceeded 10,000 so shut your crap about the stats of this thread.

^^ Because I don't make useless threads, and I don't try to get up on my own nuts about the stats of threads I start... sorry I have better things to do with my life. I have started an entire 17 threads in over 2 years on macrumors (7 of which were "For Sale/Trade" threads) because I know how to use the search button and don't feel the need to make useless topics. My topics have very specific questions, and don't require 20,000 people to look at it to make me happy. Grow up.

Once again if this would be a useless thread , it would be in wasteland. A user from 2009 should clearly know this but you don't ...oh wait trolls don't know anything. I never mentioned that quantity = quality, stop assuming false information.

Heed your own advice to grow up, calling people crybabies, complaining about thread's discussion and other people's viewpoints clearly show you should take steps to improve rather than spew unnecessary frustration here.

I'm convinced nothing is coming out, and things are far from a release (I hope I'm wrong, of course)... Yeah yeah yeah, we hear updates from the dev team about people working on it, but they're slacking hard if they actually got something in the works that's worth a damn. But, then again, what do I know?

I feel really bad for the iPhone 4S people. At least I got a tethered JB option (which is working fine btw, no inconvenient crashes away from home yet)

If I had a 4S and had to wait this long, I'd have an android by now. Seriously. :D

Hey, can you help me with this? I downloaded redsn0w and tried jailbreaking, but it said my device was unrecognized and didn't think my software (iOS 5.0.1) was supported yet. It's a fourth-generation iPod Touch 8GB. Thanks. :cool:

I'm not an expert, but your G4 iPod should be do able. Not sure why you're having trouble.. make sure you're using redsn0w 0.9_9reference


Well I'm staying on iOS 5.0.0 until Musclenerd says it's futile. I think the dev_team will be able to untether iPhone 4 on iOS 5 eventually, not sure about teh 4s though. I want to upgrade, but actually if there is no jailbreak for the 4s hell I'll just wait and upgrade to iPhone 5 next year... get more bang for my buck that way.;)

I have the same thinking. Why would they want to block this? As soon as the jailbreak is released, the demand for the 4S is skyrocketed and they are making ton of money.

maybe because the jailbreak uses an exploit that could also be used to create malware if apple doesn't close it. And the percentage of people who care about a jailbreak is tiny compared to the number of iPhone owners.
