The tethered jailbreak with the semi-tether added to it is fine. I've never had an issue with either. If you're sick of 4.3.3, I'd make the jump.

I agree. I would take a tethered JB over nothing at all if I could! It's not bad at all!
 
Never: with delta updates lending to a quicker pace and no shsh replay ability the jailbreak community will not be able to keep up.

There is like one or two things I want now, ios5 reduced the things I want by quite a bit.

Past few days I have the urge to just to do the tethered JB(iPhone4) since its been a month and no untethered iOS5. Only thing holding me back is the steps to put in to DFU mode, for some reason I think I'm going to let go to early of a button or some other problems occurring.

Should I just tether JB over Thanksgiving, battery isn't a concern is airplane mode + low brightness can be used at 20% level.
 
Tethered 5.0 > untethered iOS 4.2.8 imo.. where I upgraded from. There are some neat things in iOS 5 and I do not regret moving up to the next level. Redsn0w is completely stable and I haven't crashed once since settling in with the tweaks I needed.. do a tethered reboot on Sundays just for general principle, that's it.

I will not move off of iOS 5.0 until I get instructions from the dev_team.. my battery life was not affected by 5.0 and if the first untethered jb is 5.0 only I'll be there. I think judging from what Musclenerd says that we will see an untethered jailbreak of 5.0 before Christmas.. (I previously voted for in November.):rolleyes:
 
Haven't had any issues with the semi tethered jb. It's very stable. You guys should consider that until the untethered one is released.

Same here, moved from 4.3.3 to 5.0 tethered, redsn0w has been stable and been very happy with JB. Tethered reboot every weekend and I am all set for now.

I am indifferent as to when the Untethered Jailbreak is released. I only Jailbroke before because I got bored, so it doesn't make or break(haha) my personal user experience.

I do see where it'll be frustrating to those of you who depend on it though.
 
On tethered jailbroken iOS 5.0.1 on my 3gs, now any cheaper alternative to Mywi (I don't need wifi tethering, just USB tethering)
 
Well It's past Thanksgiving and no JB, that's expected. Early December I guess.

FYI

This thread started with 5000 less views than intelliscreenx thread , yet it's only 600 less views now.

First of all, why does anyone care about the views? Thread starter... you don't get bonus points because people like to look at your useless thread. It provides absolutely no information and is 90 posts of pure speculation that aren't even based on any real information. Awesome bro, really hope you hit that 20,000 mark soon. I mean then you're basically the most popular thread starter on MR... :rolleyes:

I'm a baseball guy, Stat tracking from fantasy baseball has carried over. Stickies have way more than 20,000 views, Steve Jobs and that Blu Ray thread should have 500,000 by now.

This thread has 1/3rd the post of intelliscreenx and around the same views +/- 1000 for the last few weeks. And yes I have the secret urge for this thread to be the most viewed on the first page of iPhone hacks excluding the stickies.No bonus points but its fun tracking how some threads exponentially gain posts and views to overtake others.

Everyone's opinion is different, if you have feelings of dislike towards the thread, there is no need for negative commentary.

Most useless thread of 2011? What about the threads in wasteland. So I'm assuming all the troll/rumor/silly threads in wasteland are more useful than this. This thread is here though, not in wasteland. I don't think you completely understand what "useless" is.

So you claim that this thread is about "nothing". Have you read through the past few pages including the first post, they share one common topic- iOS5 untethered jailbreak.

Maybe next time, you should brush up on your reading skills, the lack of depth and understanding in your posts is not needed here.
 
So I downloaded redsn0w, upgraded to iOS 5, and when I tried to jailbreak, it said my device was unknown, and asked me to check if my device/OS was supported. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm in no rush either. I'm loving iOS 5. :D
