I don't think it has anything to do with the educational discount...i ordered mine 7AM PST on the 12th of April, with the educational discount, and mine is going to be here tomorrow, according to FedEx tracking.

I was getting worried, my order still says preparing for shipment, but shipping speed was still 2 day which would put it at monday. I called and apparently Apple has an agreement with FedEx where despite what any of the tracking says -- which will say it has not been delivered until monday -- the package will come tommorow. Basically the tracking information means nothing.
I hope it does come on time. Unfortunately I called FedEx after I hung up on Apple and they claimed there are no shipments to my address in their system yet. As soon as I get some sort of word that it's in the system, I'll contemplate camping out in front of the FedEx office on Richmond Terrace to see if they'll give it to me without having to wait for delivery.shambolic said:Thanks for saving me a call, Dm84! Wow... finally, mine shows as shipped, departed Middletown PA at 8:46 PM YESTERDAY. It says FedEx 2Day Service, but with a delivery estimate of by 4:30 PM tomorrow.

I am a little bit confused, finally my order went from Preparing Shipment to Shipped today but a very curious thing on my fedex tracking appeared, notice the "Held at Sort Facility". Also, it still says arrival by Friday, so I'm probably just being paranoid....

I think the lesson here is that Apple's Order Status page is woefully not up-to-date... my Tiger shipped YESTERDAY, but the Order Status page didn't show this until 18 hours later.DeadEye686 said:

Is anyone else who ordered before the 26th (I ordered on the 12th, the first day it was available) still showing "Preparing Shipment" and not have a tracking number?

mine is also Preparing shipment. Says shipping on or before 4/28/2005. Ordered 12:03PM on the 12th. I will be extremely pissed if it doesn't come tomorrow. Come Monday when college starts back up I won't have time to install it and get it running until next weekend. That won't make me happy at all. Especially when they said order now and have it on the 29th.

no worries, i'll be calling and complaining if it isn't on truck for delievery tomorrow morning when i check my mail making sure they know i'm pissed that i preordered on the first day it was available and mine still isn't in my hands when they promised it. What a load of bull.
Both of my orders said preparing shipment for days. Last night I received my email on my Family Pack that showed it had actually been shipped out at 1:30PM and I didn't receive the email and status change until 11:00PM.
My server version email just came at 9:00PM tonight, but said it had been sent out yesterday at 2:00PM.
I feel there is hope for everyone according to these events!

I wouldn't worry too much yet. Mine showed "left FedEx sort facility" @3:49, so they probably just "held" your so they would all go out together.

Mine went yesterday from "Preparing Shipment" to "Processing Order."
Apple missed the ship date on Panther -- but it was an up-to-date order, so I could forgive that. This, however, is a full-price family pack.
Is there anything I can do if Apple misses the ship date again, or do I just have to suck it up and get over it?
