i dont think i can say that for my self....and also what doesnt help is that this weekend is THE biggest party weekend of the year in Holland, i am not sure if i should be happy or sad..
Sorry for the confusion. Mine hasn't shipped. I just went to the mapquest and determined the distance from the Apple warehouse in Memphis and my house. It probably won't ship until tomorrow. Last time when i bought my iMac it came from Luxemburg??? Who knows maybe apple has a hardware division in Lux and a software division in London...but thanks for the heads up..will go check it out
Warehouses
Does anyone know where the warehouses are that Tiger will ship from? The mail system (including UPS and FEDEX) here really stinks and I severely doubt that my Tiger will be here by Friday...I only hope that Saturday is in my grasp.

So I called Apple earlier today and they said it should go out today...just called now and she said it hasn't shipped and it can still ship tomorrow but she doesn't know if it'll get to me by Friday. Isn't this a little wrong of Apple? Their website is plastered with "you'll get it the 29th" and then they don't know if it will? I ordered it the very day it was announced, too.
As for the popular theory that their order status is slow and just not updated yet, even though it may have shipped- doesn't work in my situation, because they still haven't charged my credit card for it, and they charge it when it ships.
Will anyone else be more than disappointed if they don't get Tiger on Friday or am I the only one who thinks Apple should uphold their advertisements?

I think I ordered on the 25th from the EDU site, and mine still says Preparing, even though they said it would get here by Friday. In addition, they're giving me 2 day shipping, so if it doesn't ship until tomorrow it might not make it. Maybe it's cause I ordered the EDU version...?
BTW my card hasn't been charged either.

I also ordered from the EDU site and my status has been "Preparing Shipment" for 2 days now. No card charged, no shipment...
I ordered the edu version too...i really don't think it's cuz of that- the edu version is the same exact thing only they charge you less. and, it was still supposed to get to us the 29th regardless- the website never differentiated between regular and edu version...

I'm in the same boat here in South FL. Ordered mine the day of the announcement. Still hasn't shipped, shows preparing. And on top of that, I think the order status site has been overwhelmed, check out the pic:

Same here. Ordered 3:3PM on the day of the announcement, and still preparing shipment. I also ordered using the EDU store.
I will be pretty upset if they don't keep their word and get it to me sometime on Friday...
Edit: Status updated, actually shipped out before noon today according to Fed-Ex, estimating delviery on the 29th by 4:30PM.

I just checked for the heck of it and it shipped! My credit card is still not showing being charged, and I have not received an e-mail yet, but the Apple online store is giving me a FedEx tracking number.
I will post back in a few with any other details.

Ok, it said that it left Tenn. @ 9:03 tonight and that the est. delivery date is by 4:30 29 Apr.
I hope that the rest of yours will be showing the same status very soon.
Also, it was received @ 6:26 pm, and it showed on the Apple site @ 9:30 (CST)

Got my email from Apple. It's on it's way and was in process at 1:50 even though I didn't get the email until now.

Sometime within the past 15 minutes Apple updated the status of my order from Preparing shipment to Shipped. The tracking number was provided.
Apparantly it shipped out around 11AM this morning via Fed-Ex 2-day service, and should be here on the 29th.
I'm very happy with this, and my faith in their shipping department is restored.

Why release it on a Friday
If I were Apple I would have released this on a Thursday. Then if, for some reason, it was not delivered on time there would be a chance of our getting it the following day and still having it for the weekend.
According to the website, I ordered mine on 04/12/2005 09:54 AM PST and it is still processing; my credit card hasn't been charged :-(
I still have faith that it will arrive on Friday here in NYC, but if I don't get it until Monday and miss having the weekend to play around with it, I'll be extremely miffed. I mean I'll have to actually go outside or something

I've seen that pic before! I got it when my cookies got messed up in Safari. You might want to check/remove all your Apple.com cookies, because for the longest time I kept seeing that page, and I thought it was the site's fault, but then I got suspicious and checked, and it was the cookies.richc said:

Thanks, you're right, I switched over to FireFox and it worked perfectly. So I clean out my apple cookies. Still preparing to ship
