Did they change their name to Pear and Orange Slice at least, to match the logo?

You got to be ****ing kidding me. All the wasted legal fees (on both sides) just for this? Only people that won here are the attorneys.
Yes, but Prepear won too because they got six figures worth of PR from this!

Legal proceedings are a requirement of defending trademarks. If they aren't defended, they become valid arguments for future litigation.
Kellogg's had a trademark dispute with Maya Archaeology Initiative over their tucan logo. I worked at a design company that did work for Kellogg, and it was basically explained to us that if they did not pro-actively defend their trademarks others would use that as legal reasons for arguing that their trademarks are not valid. slowly chipping away at their brands.

In the end this was more of a show of strength for their brand than the actual over suing a non-profits logo. They did settle and donated 100k to the organization

Apple had nothing better to do and went after small fish, which is NOT in the technology business..hey Apple management get your act together and do something “ fruitful “ see what I did there..might be the dumbest thing Apple ever done as legal is concerned. Is Apple really unsecured about themselves that they need to sue anyone who tried to copy their world renowned logo? Btw those two logos don’t look the same.

There is an apple logo on an app in the Google play store that I saw when I was seeing what comes up there when I search for Apple News. I think it belongs to a Hong Kong based company. It even has a bite taken out. The app is called Apple Daily. How did Apple's lawyers miss this? It even comes up as a result of searching for Apple News.

Shockingly you’re right..may be the company already paid Apple to look other way..just because it didn’t report in the news it doesn’t mean Apple didn’t notice.

next up is my guess Apple going to sue or “ ask nicely “ of ALL girls named “ Apple “ or “ April “ to change their names to something else or face having iPhone taking away😆 Apple claim “ April “ sounded like Apple..both start with letter “ A “ and second letter is “ P “ and have total of same amount of letters: 5😆

Totally fair. I get it. But still... no one is going to notice this change unless pointed out.
The point isn't so much to notice the change (which the company probably hopes you won't), but rather that you won't look at the old logo and experience confusion as to any relationship between them and Apple. This to me seems like an appropriate resolution.

I was on this company's side, but after looking at the new logo, I can see how the old one does look too similar to the Apple logo.
Oh come on, you wanna see something that's actually too similar and would actually have some merit?

If that pear dilutes Apple's trademark in any way, every logo on earth is probably diluting trademark of something else. B.S.
